"Oh... it's okay actually, I guess I could hunt with Midnight," Aridane said, "it's about time she learned how to hunt".

Cameron unknowingly moved closer to Purl as the group walked. He'd grown attatched to these dogs in the few hours he'd known them, they seemed almost family-like to him. 'Family...' He thought to himself. But Cameron didn't belong anywhere at the moment, he was a mix of two different breeds with a great hatred for eachother. He didn't belong with dogs because of his wolf side, and he didn't belong with wolves because of his dog side. So where did he belong? He didn't know at that exact moment, but maybe he would in time. There was now a faint smell of Caribou in the air, he realised. "I just caught scent of the herd, guess you were right Rew." Said Cameron, needing to raise his voice a little since he and Purl were further back than the rest of the group. His eyes trailed slowly back to Purl, and he couldn't help but admire her beauty. "So," he started, trying to make a conversation, "Where did you used to live?" He asked.

He wasn't expecting an answer from the husky, but he was rather curious as to where she'd come from. His next thought was how had she ended up in the middle of nowhere, but he didn't bother to ask that question. As he waited for her answer he noticed that the smell of caribou was getting stronger. 'We're getting close to the clearing.' He thought. As he walked he looked back slightly at the paw prints he left, making sure that they would have a trail to follow so that they could return to the cave after their hunting.

Accept for Purls distant jabering the forest was a sea of silence. Ofource it was only silent untill Ancourages stomach gave a low deep growl. He noticed he was falling behind so he raced to catch up with Nenanna and Roo.

Nennana had hurd the low growl and instinctivly began looking for a grizzly bearas she walked.

"That was just my stomach." Ancorage told her when he caught up.

"Don't worry pup will get you something real filling" Roo told him. It was ironic that Roo would call Ancorage pup considering he himself was only a year older than Ancorage and still no were near mature he was in his mid teens in wolf years perhaps a bit younger. As soon as he was aware of the Caribou Roo darted off down the valley to were they were grazing with the intent to improv an atack.

For the first time in purles life she was speachless. Her tail was wagging vigoressly. Some body she was geninly intrested in asked her a question first and she did not believe it had happened. The moisture fled into her eyes and from her mouth. "I...I..." She cleared her throat "Well I was born in Nome and adopted by a musher along with my sister Diamond." She hesitated because she was afraid she might bore Cameron with her happy little biography so she skipped to the present quickly loosing her bout of silence. "Well the musher I was recently traded too died and his Nephew inharited the team and crashed it" Her attempt to make the storry darker and more appealing to Cameron. "He thinks wer dead now!" She said pleasently. Obviously this wasnt a verry pleasant topic and she hadn't beenable to sound as creepy as she had intended. "But I'm glad were in the forest mayby I'll make some wolf friends." She thought a moment focsing intently. "Wolves don't like dogs though do they? I wish I was part wolf sometimes then both dogs and wolves would like me and I could have all sorts of friends!"

"Hush deer!" Nenanna told her you might give some one a hedache or at least frighten of the Caribou."

"Sorrry Nenanna!" Purle said slightly embaressed. "So what about you were are you from?"

Cameron smirked at her attempt to make the story sound darker, he honestly didn't care how happy or frightening the story was, he just wanted to hear it even if it was boring...Which it wasn't. As Cameron listened he imagined in his head a less-experienced musher crashing a dog sled team. When she asked about him, Cameron's muscles stiffened slightly and it almost seemed like he was trying not to breathe, he looked as though he were in pain. He soon let out a sigh, but still said nothing. Cameron wasn't sure. He wasn't sure if he should tell her his story. His mind was currently divided into three parts. One part distrusted Purl, and tried to pursuade him not to tell her. Another, fully wanted him to tell his story. The last part wasn't sure...It was frozen, almost as blank as the ice and snow itself.

But soon he snapped out of it, and forced himself to be brought back to reality instead of lingering on the thoughts in his mind. He chose one part, and then pushed everything else aside. He was going to tell her. His voice broke the silence between them. "My father was a golden retriever/husky mix, he used to pull around sleds full of mail. My mother was a purebred white wolf, the beta of the pack in which she lived in. One day when my father and his team had to deliver mail to Anchorage, they got lost in a blizzard. While the rest of the team lay there either dead or dying, my father slipped out of his harness and stumbled around blindly for hours. Finally he collapsed, no longer having the strength to continue. My mother was out hunting, and when she saw my father out in the snow she immediately brought him to a nearby cave to rest and regain his strength in. He awoke to see the beautiful face of my mother, and he thanked her weakly for saving him. For the next few days she continued to sneak away from her pack and feed him food from the food supply. When he was well again, they spent more time with eachother and slowly but surely they fell in love. It wasn't long after they discovered their feelings for one another that they found out my mother was carrying puppies. She had to fake her own death to be able to get away from her pack, and wait for her puppies to be born. Once they were all born, my brothers and sisters and I, she got my father to hunt for her while she stayed with us. When we were all old enough, she would leave us to go hunting with my father. But after a while, suspicion rose from within the pack and soon they were found. My mother...They believed her to be dead, not to be with some "stupid" dog mutt. The pack...They killed my father, while my mother ran to see us. She told us to run, that everything would be okay as long as we stayed hidden..And never looked back. She also promised us she'd find us some day, but that promise was broken when I chose to stay behind and watch as my mother was killed. I was alone, my brothers and sisters had run off without me to god knows where. As I lay there in the bushes I thought to myself that my sibblings would probably find homes with humans since they looked like huskies or golden retrievers with pointed ears. But me...I would have to remain wild, I looked too much like a wolf. Despite my golden fur, not a common colour for a wolf, I still looked like one. At that moment I realised just how much I hated myself, for everything. I hated myself for ever being born, I hated myself for standing and watching while my mother was killed instead of running like she asked, I hated myself for looking so wolf-like..But then my hatred passed, and it was replaced with bitterness. I guess thats what repels others so much...My bitter personality." He said, adding a small smile just to add a little humor. He seemed rather uncomfortable now, and proceeded to follow Rew. Maybe hunting would take his mind away from the story he'd just revealed to a husky he barely even knew. "Which one do you think we should pick off first Rew? That young buck over there looks like it has rather good meat on it, but it'd be hard to bring down...I mean, look at his hooves and antlers."

The pampered husky had began to gently nuzzle belowe the wolf dog's chen absantly. Apon realizing what she was doing she quickly snapped away. But then the after thought occured that he might think she was frightened by him so she brushed her muzzle against his neck quickly. color]

[color=#000000]The youthful thrill chaser grinned. "I'm not afraid of beeing jabbed by a little antler are you?" With a laugh and no plan he darted down into the valley after the buck.

Nenanna decide this was instruction and she followed behind swiftly yet cautiosly. She had scene elk be attacked before and new they kicked from the back and side and could see to the right and leaft but not the front and back.

Hungrly Ancorage followed behind running some what more off balanced than the others. He ran around to the right of the buck who reached out and kicked him in the gut. Ancorage yelped and managed to run out of the way to the front.

Purl was going to wate for cameron but apon hearing the yelp a nurturing instinct kicked in and she rushed to aid him.

Cameron blushed and coughed slightly when she nuzzled him, but shook his head and ran swiftly to the young buck when he realised the others had started the hunt. When he heard the yelp he couldn't help but mutter. "Stupid house pet. He needs to be quicker, more vicious, and learn that a buck can see from the sides and defend itself." He growled. Cameron's lips curled back in a snarl and his eyes narrowed as he quickly jumped up and bit down on the buck's forehead, earning a loud bellow of pain from the beast. The creature swung its head side-to-side to try and shake Cameron off, but he held on tightly. A trail of crimson now flowed from the elk's head, and this drove the buck to start running. It took off, Cameron still hanging on, teeth sinking deeper into its flesh with each passing moment. He was so busy trying to weaken the animal, that he didn't notice the buck was heading straight for a tree. Cameron couldn't help but release a yelp when the buck charged into the tree, with Cameron still on its head. He let go and slumped to the ground, and the bull trotted around with its nostrils flaring every two seconds. "Bring it down!" Cameron growled, despite the pain in his rib area.

"Cameron!" Purl yellped as she saw him get crushedbetween the tree and the dear. She raced to aid him awkwardly for she knew he would be the type that would rather she take down the dear than help him.

Rue on the other hand leaped onto theinjured bucks rump and bit down hard to injure his leg. "Look out behind you!" He shouted to the panicked buck.

Cameron stood up swiftly and glanced over at Purl. "I'll be fine, no need to help me. Just contribute your strength, skill and speed to the fight rather than to a mutt." He said and then ran at the buck again. His side throbbed with pain and protested with each movement he made but he didn't even consider stopping, not even for a second. The golden retriever/wolf mix snarled and leapt on the large beast again and bit down on its foreleg. With a canine biting its foreleg and another canine biting its back leg, the buck would surely give up and accept death soon. It was only a matter of time before the male deer would collapse and fall prey to the hungry dogs and wolf/dogs.

Fenris panted, "There's a few pieces of meat in the cave..."
Flint nodded, "That's good. Hey Fenris, will you help escort everyone to the cave instead of leaving us again?"
Fenris dipped his head and grumbled, "Oh, alright..."in a joking manner.
