Shay stumbled closer to her brother, eyes streaming. "Sorry," the Gasman said apologetically. His grin took some of the sincerity away, and Iggy, the only one who seemed not to be affected, slapped him a high-five. The smell began to dissipate in a breeze that fortunately blew into the clearing, and Shay wiped away the treas that trickled down her pale cheek.
"That was awesome!" the Gasman cried, obviously excited. Iggy laughed, almost a cackle, in agreement, blind eyes strangely looking right at Gazzy. "That was not awesome at all!" Nudge argued, her hand dropping. She frowned at him, and Angel imitated her, glancing at her brother reproachfully.
Fang was grinnned slightly, though her tried to hide it as Max looked at him, the at Gazzy. "No more chili for you," she said. Shay then noticed the smell of food in the air, and her stomach involuntarily rumbled, a liquid growl that filled the air. Blushing, she muttered an apology. Nudge acted on Shay's hunger first, handing her a messy hot-dog, glopped over with chili, lacking a bun. Shay took it both carefully and gratfully, almost taking a bite. But not before James got his. She carefully tore it in half, alot of the chili dropping onto the leaves below a she handed it to her brother.

Shay devoured her's quickly, and was surprised to find her stomach still cried out in hunger. She was normally a peckish eater, and ate only small amounts. Apparently, whatever they had done at the School had given her more than wings. More food was handed to her, and they all disappeared rapidly, with half of it going to James each time. Finally satisfied, her eyes closed momentarily, then immediatly opened again. Something about being caught by werewolves, known as Erasers, made her paranoid, and afriad to keep her eyes closed for too long.

"Well...." Max began slowly. Shay's gaze riveted onto her. She looked behind her uncertainly, and apparently saw something in Fang's eyes, though they seemed devoid of emotion. "I guess you could join us."
"Really?" Shay asked, not really sure she had heard properly. As Max nodded slowly, Shay's eyes lit up happily, and she grabbed her brother's hand suddenly. "Thank you," she said.

Shay nodded. "Everything okay?" Max asked, unable to hear what they had been saying, only able to see them.
"Yes," Shay said. She saw Angel whisper something in Max's ear, and afterward, the Flock leader relaxed more.

Dusk was falling, and Max overhead the question. "You can get some rest. I'll take first watch," she suggested. Wel, almost suggested. It was more of an order actually, so Shay obeyed, awkwardly walking over to where the others sat, sliding down a think tree trunk until on the grass.
