The dog whimpered a little and sat down.

Benny looked at Shay "How did you do that?" He asked.

"Step-dad raises rotties," Shay muttered, keeping her eyes on the hellhound. "Good boy," she said soothingly, breaking off a piece of the treat and throwing it towards the monster.

"Yeah, but this is a hellhound." Benny pointed out.

Chiron cleared his throat "You two are the children of Hades." He reminded them.

The hellhound wagged it's tail and licked it up.

Shay tried to ignore the fact that she was the daughter of the god of the dead, instead arguing with Benny. "Its still doggish," she retorted, stepping closer. She scratched the now docile creature behind the ear.

The dog's toung hung out of it's mouth,and it closed it's eyes.

Benny snorted.

"I'll call you Mason," Shay declared, grinning a little bit.

Mason wagged his tail.

"Mason?! Your naming the hellhound Mason?" Benny asked

Shay's chin jutted out slightly in defiance. "It suits him," she said defensively. Turning to her former Latin teacher, a pleading look flitted across her face. "We can't leave Mason here. Can he come?" Her pleading gaze went back and forth between him and Mason. "Please?" she added softly, still scratching the hellhound's ear.

"Well..." Chiron said thoughtfully rubbing his goatie in thought. "The dragon guarding the Golden fleece is getting old..."

Benny walked over to Mason "Well.. he is pretty cool.." Benny said and punt a hand on his head.

Mason's tail wagged faster.

Her face showing clear delight, Shay rushed forward, her arms wrapping around Chiron. "Oh, thank you. Thank you so much!" she babbled, grinning widely.

Chiron smiled a little,"Your welcome child." He replied.

Mason barked in happiness.

Benny put a finger to his lips "Shh!"

Shay gave the rest of the treat to the hellhound, hoping it would silence him. "Aren't we supposed to be leaving?" she asked Chiron pointedly. "I don't have any more dog biscuits left, she added.

Chiron nodded "Of course." Chiron said,Chiron went back into his Wheel-chair form and wheeled outside. There was a van with a blonde haired dude in it.

Benny looked at it "Is that Argus?" Benny asked.

Shay felt a bit queasy thinking of all the eyes covering his body, and purposely kept her gaze trained on Mason. She prayed Chiron would answer no; she still needed time to prepare her stomach.

Chiron nodded "Yes, it is."

Gross Benny grumbled
