"Accept defeat?" Tally asked, sounding appalled. "I don't even see how that is posisble,"

Ira smiled.
"Okay miss. How would you like to take it then? Dreading and fearing the inevitable? Enjoy what days you have left."

"We are not going to die Ira!" Tally said heatedly.

"You sure Tally?" asked a worried Kali.

Ira stood up, eying the four dogs. His voice grew serious.
"Leave now. I have nothing more to say. If you will not heed my warnings, then I will not waste my breath."
With that, the old dog padded slowly back into the cabin, the door clicking shut behind him.

Ranger scoffed.
"End of the world...Yeah right. Come on let's get out of here."
He turned, then, and started walking towards the bridge.

Tally was now as wary of that bridge as Kali was, and was hesitant to move towards it. "Staying here with Ira wouldn't be to bad," she said uneasilt, Kali giving an all to eager nod at the thoughht of not crossing the seeming lethal bridge

Ranger turned around angrily.
"Ira doesn't want us here. Let's just get the heck out of here and back to our normal lives."
Ignoring his friend's fears, he went out onto the bridge and crossed it, with Tucker following close behind him.

Tally sat down stubbornly and fearfully. "I'm not going across, I almost died soming here!" she called out to them.

Ranger knew that the two girls would follow eventually. At that moment, he wanted nothing but to get back to his home, so he kept walking. He didn't believe Ira, but he was however kind of frightened. The old coot seemed hard set that the world was going to end, and Ira was never one to make up stories. He had always been a level headed dog and there were no other signs that he was losing his mind. Ranger had a lot of thinking to do.
Tucker stopped following Ranger after he realized he wasn't going to stop. He then proceeded to go back to the bridge.
"Hey Tally and Kali. You know there is no other way off the bridge. If you want to get back home, you will have to cross it."

"Last time I crossed it, I almost fell. I don't want to go back across," Tally said, chocolate eyes firm and fearful with the thought of crossing.

Kali, apparently, had changed her mind about crossing, and was already halfway on. "There's no other way Tally!" she said.

Tally deflated at seeing Kali also crossing. She was the only one nnow. She shakily took a few steps closer, placing a hesitant paw on the rickety bridge.

Tucker watched the two dogs starting to cross the bridge.
"Come on Tally, Kali. The wind has died down a bit right now. Cross before it picks back up!"

Tucker sighed impatiently, tapping his paw. The longer they waited, the further Ranger was getting from them.

Tally was fed up with Tucker's impatience that was showing clearly in his actions, and ran the rest of the way, Kali tagging along close behind her.

Tucker sighed is relief, then started running down the trail.
"Come on! We need to catch up with Ranger!"

"Still coming!" Tally snapped, running harder.

Kali stumbled, letting out a yelp of fearm but regained her footing and kept running.
