"Run away?" Rayna repeated. "Elope, you mean?" She had considered the idea, but what would it do to her father? Her loving servants? Her kingdom? "But my father..."

Rayna thought about everyone back home. Her father was going to make her marry Archibauld anyway, so where was the proof that he cared about her feelings? And her maids, they were ordered to take care of her, along with the servants. "Perhaps I could take one of my horses from the stables," she planned. "So we could get farther away."

"Farther away from what?" said a shadowy figure. The figure was a man atop a sleek black steed, sword in hand. It was Archibauld. He galloped forward out of the shadows, then placed his sword at Ryan's throat. "Give me the girl." he said evilly, "And I will spare your life."

Ryan unconsiously stepped back slightly from the sword, the sharp metal cool against his skin. He couldn't think....he was'n't even sure of what was happening. His fists clenche dby his sides, and he looked at Rayna.

Archibauld pushed the tip of the sword farther against Ryan's throat as he grabbed Rayna's wrist and pulled her back.

Rayna struggled to get away from him, but it was no use. "Ryan! Help!"

Ryan's mind cleared quickly. He smoothly ducked under the sword, his heart pounding. He ran to Rayna, pulling her out of Archibald's grasp, pushing her away.

Archibauld thrust his sword at Ryan's throat, but missed and it went into his shoulder instead. Archibauld slowly pulled it out, making it more painful for Ryan.

Ryan gasped slightly as the sword plunged into his shoulder, just missing his throat. The cool metal started to burn, blood starting to pour from the deep cut sround the sword. He pulled his body away from it quickly, not wanting it to last any longer than necassary.

Rayna jumped forward and slapped Archibauld's horse on the hindquarters, making it rear and throw Archibauld off. That's when Rayna lunged forward and took his sword, holding it like a fencer, pointed at Archibauld on the ground.

RYan pressed his hand over the deep wound, his body curling slightly around the cut. He was dim;y watching the going-ons, glad that Rayna was ok for now.

Rayna's arm tingled with desire. She could just as well kill Archibauld right there, but something inside her held her back. She gritted her teeth and said, "Take your sword."

Archibauld grasped the end of his sword and wiped the blood off of it, then began to place it back into his sheath....
but then he flung it at Rayna instead, roaring with rage.

Rayna tried to duck, but the edge of the sword caught the sleeve of her dress, tearing half of the top of her dress right off. She let the sword drop while she tried to cover the uncovered area.

ooc- Wow.....uh, Archibald is evil.

Ryan pressed on the wound harder, his face a bit pale. He grimaced, straightening up. He took the sword on the ground and dropped the hand covering the wound, trying to ignore the warm liquid that ran down him thickly. He held the sword steadily in spite of the wound and loss of blood, pointing it at Archie, steel in his eyes.
