Mia read the text message, the lit screen of her Sidek!ck making her eyes gleam. 'kk, cya in 1 hr' she texted. She checked the time on her phone. Yeah, it was 4. So one hour. The phone rang beside her, and she pickde in up, curious at who it was. "Hello?" she asked inquisitivly. "UH, hello. My name is Ryan. May I speak to Ashley?" he asked.

Ryan dialed the number, then heard it pick up after one ring. He sat behind Ashley in most of their clases. He had had a crush on her since the beginning of the year. Peole had been telling him to get a grip, tell her. That's what he was going to do. "Hello?" a voice asked on the other line. Suddenly nervous, Ryan stared around the living room, his eyes flitting form one thing to the next. "Uh," he said. "Hello, my anem is Ryan." he said, unsure of what to say. "May I speak to Ashley?" He waited for a reply.

Mia smiled. Maybe ASh had found her special someone right now. "One second," she said, covering the phone. "AShleY! Some guyis on the phone! He said his naem was Ryan!" she yelled.

Ryan felt releived, but still tense. What would AShley say?

"Ugh," she sighed, she ran down the stairs. when she heard it was ryan her heart stoped. "Hello!" she snatched the phone from her sister. "Whats up ryan?" she asked.

Jake text back 'alright. cya soon.' He closed his phone and put it in his pocket. he walked to his dads room. (devorce) he knocked then opened the door. "Dad can i have some money?" he asked. his father sighed searching threw his wallet. he gave jake a 10$ bill. Jake sighed. "Close enough. thanks dad." his dad nodded as he took out the ciggarete in his mouth.

"NOthing," Ryan said, his heart pounding. "Well, alot actually," he said. He couldn't do this. He just couldn't. "Ashley? Do you....do you want to-" he broke off, unable to go on.

"Uh, ryan.. do i want to what?" she asked Quietly.

Ryan blinked, his mouth suddenly dry. Suck it up, he told himself silently, chastisizing himself. It's one freaking phone call. I'll survive."Uh, do you want to go out?" he asked, forcing the words out.

"uh, sure?" She said shyly. "When, and were?" she asked.

Ryan cursed himself silently for not saying those detaills. "Uh, movies? When are you free?" he asked, a trickle of nervous sweat falling of his forehead.

"All night and tommorow. you?" She asked shyly.

"Me too. Then the next day. ANd the next day," he said. "So, 5?" he asked uncertainly, twisting his shirt then relaxing, then twisting it again.

"What day though?" she asked with lots of confusion.

"Tonight?" he said, still overcome with nervousness.

"Sure!" she said happily. "Anything else?" she asked.

Ryan blushed. "Actually, yeah," he said awkwardly, wnating to get this over with. He took a deep breath, and final;ly said the four words. "I love you Ashley," he said simply. Furious heat made his cheeks redder than before, and he quickly hung up before she could reply. He leaned against his bedroom wall, mortified, the phone dropping from his hand

"Uh, i love you too?..." she said confusingly. even know he hung up. She hung up the phone. she ran to Mia "RYAN ASKED ME OUT!" she screamed.
