how about watership down? there was a film absolutely YONKS ago, and there were three series that were made later on for tv.
i know its a bit violent, but its a highly recognised book and it could cause some "reading encouragement" that i imagine parents of younger members might approve of. plus, its a classic!
id also say the animals of farthing wood, but its quite similar. just a note: some of you animal lovers might want to try it out. you can get the books off amazon, though I found the whole collection in a market in Norfolk XD

Okay, I know that this has been suggested before, but I cannot resist...

Name: Fox And The Hound

Film or Series: Film

General Information: The movie is about two canines, hound, and fox. People at all time knew that the fox and the hound were enemies: hound had to hunt the fox down, fox-be afraid of the hound, and know it as an enemy...
Yet, the two kids, the hound pup Copper, and the fox kit Tod, meet eachother and become "best of friends" . It seemed like no one can break their friendship... Yet, as grown-ups, they understand that they both have to follow their destiny: hound must hunt the fox, the fox-be afraid of the hound... The destiny...Of being enemies.
(I know, this information is different from how the others have been set, but I just...Wrote this out of my heart <333 )

Owner/Producing company: Walt Disney Studios

(If Possible) Link to the film/series Wikipedia page: Here

Why should we add it? This movie is nicely animated, and can be called a real Disney classic. It's really touching (I almost cried during it xDDD), and...Oh, I don't know xDD It's just awesome xDD

Name: The Road To El Dorado (i'll call Dorado for short XD)
Film or series: Film
General info: two men get a map to The golden city, El Dorado. They got the map but got caught. Somehow they ended up on the beach of Dorado along with a 'ruthless' battle horse. the decide to scam the people for their money but the friends end up fighting and well ect ect.
Production company: ?
Why i think it should be added:
It has a great plot and i think that may characters, images and fan art ect could be created based around the movie. It has a 6.4 rating out of 10 so i think that's a preety darn good rating. It has good graphics (i dont know all those like technical-ish terms) and over all.
Extras:
it was released in 2000 (australia)
Website: well this is the best i could find (informing wise)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0138749/

I would like to revive Draco's suggestion, from page 1 of this topic for a The Secret of N.I.M.H. Source. This would be an ideal addition for what should be, for most of you, very obvious reasons. (Since Draco has been promoted to co-admin of Balto Source, I would like to humbly throw my hat into the ring to organize and set up the site as admin, if at all possible. I believe in this movie, and know it well. I own it on DVD, and the book it was based upon, which I have owned since I was a child...and have read several times over!)

  • Name: The Secret of N.I.M.H.
  • Film or Series: Film
  • General Information: An animated movie about a small field mouse who is desperate to move her family on spring "moving day", but is hampered by one of her children having pneumonia. She lives in a field of a farm, where the farmer is about to till his field with his tractor and plow. The animals who make the field home in winter are preparing for moving day, but the mouse learns that she cannot move her son while he is sick, or he may die. She is sent to see the rats who live below the farmhouse rose garden...these are special rats. Very special. And she'll come to learn a great deal about them, her late husband, and herself during the adventure!
  • Owner/Producing company: Don Bluth Productions/Aurora Productions
  • (If Possible) Link to the film/series Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_of_NIMH
  • Why should we add it? This was legendary Disney animator Don Bluth's first independent film following his departure from Disney (which is also now the stuff of legend, as some of his production team, and the people at Aurora who assisted him, also came from Disney). And it shows through in the incredible quality of the artwork and animation. It is also based upon the well-known children's book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mrs._Frisby_and_the_Rats_of_NIMH), which won several prestigious awards and which is now a literary classic (and which spawned at least two sequels by the author's daughter).

Name: Anastasia
Film or Series: Film
General Information: Anastasia is the story of a girl re-discovering her past of royalty, based on the true story of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia
Owner/Producing company: 20th Century Fox
(If Possible) Link to the film/series Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anastasia_(1997_film)
Why should we add it?: Anastasia is a very interesting story, I think the fact that it is a true story could get AS-ers aware of history and how important it is. This is a film that includes humour, romance and morals all in one and conveys it in a great way.

I'd be interested to work on this project if this site was to actually be made

Name:The Land Before Time Source

Film or Series: Film & Series

General Information: "The Land Before Time is a 1988 American animated film directed and co-produced by Don Bluth (with production based around his Ireland-based studio), and executive-produced by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Originally released by Universal Studios and Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, it features anthropomorphic dinosaurs living in a somewhat fantasy-based version of prehistoric earth. The plot concerns a young Longneck (Apatosaurus) named Littlefoot, voiced by Gabriel Damon, who is orphaned when his mother is killed by a Sharptooth (T-Rex). Littlefoot flees famine and upheaval to search for the "Great Valley", an area which has been spared devastation. On his journey, he meets four young companions: Cera, a Three-Horn (Triceratops); Ducky, a Big Mouth (Saurolophus); Petrie, a Flyer (Pteranodon); and Spike, a Spike-Tail (Stegosaurus).[2] The film explores issues of prejudice between the different species and the hardships they endure in their journey as they are guided by the spirit of Littlefoot's mother. This was the only Don Bluth film in the 80s in which Dom DeLuise did not star.

The film was a critical and financial success and spawned a multi-million dollar franchise with twelve direct-to-video sequels (without association with Bluth, Spielberg, or Lucas) as well as merchandise (toys, video games, etc.) and a television series".

Owner/Producing company: Universal Studios and Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment

Link to the film/series Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Land_Before_Time

Why should we add it? I don't know why .. but it a very good film and it has lots of different species of dinosaurs and has some history of them , and it has a lot of sequels ^^

the silver brumby source
film or series: series (its also a major motion film but thats not animated)
general info: a palomino colt sets out to win back his farthers land from a grey stallion (the Brolga) but many complications occur during the process and Thowra (the colt) has many adventures
owner/producing company: roadshow entertainment
why i think it should be added: we need more horse sites and the silver brumby is a great classic so why not make it the second horse site? the characters are creative and many fan creations can be created around the plot. The series is also based off an amazingly popular book series.
Possible link: cannot find a site

i support Aniu delgado diablo's idea it would be great to have anothe rhorse site because the first horse site is only for horses but the silver brumby is combined with other animals which lets us explore more closer into the the series.
