"Right Shadow, now I'm gonna show you one of the most important parts of a sheepdogs job.Now Tucker wont let me show you how to deal with Rams yet" Dart let out a small growl at Tuckers nam "But I think your ready for lambs now they arent as easy as they sound,They go all over the place with over protective mothers so you have to be careful" by this time they had reached the field "So are you ready?"

Dart stepped fforwards and let out a deafening bark. The ewe ran off bleating. He smiled down at shadow "I'll talk to Tucker about those rams" he said.Any praise from Dart was very rare especially this high.He looked over the feild "all you need to work on is your timing, the faster you do it the less time the stupid lambs have to think of ways to cause trouble, now you were pretty fast but I want you to work on your speed." he looked around "Take two laps of this field so I can see your stamina" he said.

Dart nodded "fast" he said "Try four laps a day to keep your fitness up" he trotted forwards "I do two of the of the whole farm in the morning and two in the evenings.Start with two morning two evening before you got to bed of this feild" he said "now your control was brilliant but you need to circle the sheep to keep them all in check not just the stragglers" he opened the gate "watch this" he started the pof before expertly looping the sheep and rounding them back into the pen. "Next lesson, guarding" he panted.

Dart straightened up "right" he said when hed caught his breath "We're going to patrol the borders of the farm to ward off intruders, tell me what do we class as an intruder?" he tested.

"Correct...in essentials" replied dart "Those pups for instance,we didnt know them therefore they were intruders.Even a new milkman can be classed as an intruder until you see masters reaction for him." said dart as they trotted round the perimeter "The fun bit is that you can scare the living daylights out of a cat if you pretend you thought it was an intruder" he snickered "anyway Shadow what youve got to learn is...I thought I told those puppies to clear off" he growled

Buddah stopped in his tracks. He looked at his sivlings "Lets get out of here" he barked as they scrambled over the fene.

Dart walked up to shadow "That is why guardings such an important part of being a sheep dog" he explained as they carried on "now let me think...why dont we do some cliffside rounding, dangerous but its important." he said then he turned to Shadow "we can only do this if you promise not to tell Tucker"" he said.Tucker was the only dog that could make Dart behave.

"right" said Dart as he trotted off at a fast pace towards the cliff. When he got there he looked over the edge "Dammit" he growled."stupid animal" he cursed as he turned to Shadow "sheeps got itself stuck on a ledge." he explained "I cant get through the gap in the rock" he said.He looked at Shadow "Rounding will have to wait we need to get that sheep up"

Dart bit his lip and suckd air through his teeth. He couldnt send Shadow down there, better sheepdogs had fallen to there deaths off that ledge but then again if Shadow did get that sheep up there was the best chance that the two of them would get into the sheepdog trials but on the other paw there would be tricky questions like why were they up there i9 the first place.Slowly Dart nodded "Give it a try but dont take any risks. If it looks too dangerous you come straight back up here and we get the farmer."
