"Just fine," Katie said, brushing herself off from being holled onto the ship. She looked around the cabin. "I don't know how anyone can live here," she said, crossing her arms. "I'm not really one for the see life." Which was a total and complete lie. She wasn't even sure why she said it. It just slipped off her tongue.

"Doubt it," Katie sighed before he came over to her. She was about to tell him off, when she was suddenly staring into his eyes. Her breath caught in her throat. The whole world seemed to live and die before he finally looked away. Katie blinked rapidly as she caught her breath again. She looked at the floor, wondering what had just happened.

Katie avoided looking directly at James again as she thought up another lie. "Well, my father was always going on sea trips like the last one. I never got to go with him. I was left with my mother a lot. And we fought." What was she saying?! She loved her mother and they never fought!
