Steele nodded. He looked to Nikkie, Kaltag, and Star. "Guys...I'm sorry for getting you all lost...I was a fool..." he said, looking down. "You were the only friends I had and I made a huge mistake...I let my ego and rage get in my way...will you forgive me?"

"Balto, I think Muk and Luk can be keeping up." said Boris. "But I cannot and I don't want to wiegh Luk down, mind if I am riding were the Musher normally would?" he asked.

OOC: Would a Kaltag and Star gag help?

Kaltag just sat in the cold snow. His jaw agape with shock...

OOC: It might, I left Kaltag open with a stutter if Star wants to throw something in there to finish for him :3

Watching Jenna stand by his side made Balto's heart fill with joy. He looked at the two polar bears and they only beamed back in response. Muk nodding in agreement with Boris. Bears are faster than they look.

"That's a good idea actually, Boris. Stay close the musher's face where he needs some warmth."

OOC: sorry I haven't responded in a while, besides hitting another seeming slow patch, I've switched computers and I don't have much time at the moment. But I'll post again soon.

OOC: Ok, I'll wait.

Kaltag raised his paw with a glare at Star...

Balto smiled as Boris as the goose shared his body heat with the unconscious musher.
He glanced back at Steele. No more time to debate, he took a leap of faith...

He turned to Jenna and she smiled at him. She had slipped into a spare harness and stood ready beside him. The wolfdog felt warm inside even though the wind blew so cold. "Is everyone ready? We move out now!" Balto turned towards the direction Jenna and the others had come, and started to move.

OOC: not completely done with my laptop, but it's good to be back ^^

Star started, glad to avoid getting hit that time.

Steele started along with them. "I'm glad I came back..." he said. He realized he'd finally changed the way his life had gone for the beter, even if he'd originally done the wrong thing, coming back and doing the right thing felt all the beter because of it. "Balto, think you can follow me and Jenna's scent back to Nome? Your sense of smell is much better than ours."

OOC: Glad to have you back.

Kaltag just rolled his eyes at Star and started to run along with the rest of the team...

Hearing Steele, Balto scented the air. Though the air was cold, it had scents that were clear. Pine, rabbit, a freshly dug hole that a deer made looking for a bit of grass...and the dogs scent. "Yeah!" He called back. "You and Jenna came from this way!" he pulled towards the path in the forked trail, and up ahead, he could just see it leading to what seemed to be an ice-bridge...

Is it time to change scenes again yet?
I don't think we're really following the script anymore,
so I don't know where to really go from here. :3

OOC: We sorta follow the plot until the avalanche scene, Kira sets off the avalanche before they get there to force them into her territory.

Steele looked carefully at the ice bridge. "We may want to be careful here." he said. "That doesn't look all that stable." he said, worried somewhat.

"He is having a point Balto." said Boris. "Ice might not be very safe, should be careful." he said.

Balto stopped, and stared ahead. Their problem being that the bridge was thinner towards the middle. The chances of being able to cross with all of the team and his friends... "It's not going to hold..."

Jenna followed Balto's gaze, then back at the others. He's right. "What are we going to do, Balto? It's not going to hold all of us."

Balto dug a paw into the ground nervously and thought for a moment. Then what Jenna said gave him an idea. "We can't all make it over, but we could if we went a few at a time..." He looked the team over. Some should probably walk over seperate. "I think it'd be safer if some walked over seperately."

Jenna slipped out of the harness. "I'll take the boys over first," she gestured to the polar bears who were whimpering at the height of the cliff. "and two others. The team should be ok then."

"Thanks Jenna." Balto said beaming at her. He wasn't overly worried, it was just a short distance to the other side. ...but he hoped the bridge could hope for just two more crossings never the less... he turned back to the team. It didn't really matter who else went with her. "Who else is going with you?"

OOC: rather good point you made. They barely made it across with just the team, with two more dogs, a goose and a couple of polar bears, they wouldn't be able to all cross at once. thanks for that

And I left that open a bit if Steele and/or Star wanted to volunteer. I was thinking of him maybe acting like the boss a bit again and making Kaltag and Star going for an idea...up to you

OOC: I'll have him considering it but choose not too.

I figured that it'd work better if Steele remember some of Balto's stories and used them to help them.

Steele at first thought he should order his team over but decided not too, that was the old Steele, he was the new Steele now. "I'll go, I'm the heaviest, so it'll get the most weight out of the way." he said. "But maybe I should go alone." he said. "...Star, you're lightest, so if you go with Jenna, its less likely the bridge would fail than me." he said. Spirit Guide, wherever you are, mind keeping them safe?

Star took his harness off and walked over to Jenna.

"I'll be going." said Boris. "I'm being heavier than Star but still light." he said, walking up to Jenna.

OOC: good point ^^
Sorry I haven't posted in a while by the way.

"They have their own spirit guides to watch over them," The fox voice seemed to echo, "I will be looking out for you."

Jenna stood by the bridge looking it over. Scanning for weak points and places for good traction while she waited. She started to go across, but stopped short at the mouth and waited for Steele as Star had already joined her.

A sudden thought entered Balto's mind. He looked at Boris and wondered out loud, "Why don't you just fly over?"
