Lucifer barked, thanking his musher from unhooking him. He slightly yawned, putting his paws in front of him and then streatching back. He yawned once more, he was obiously tired from the big run he and his team had been threw today. He bounced up onto a log, knowing he didnt have to say this, but he did anyways. He circle on the stump he was on, going onto his hind legs. "Ok guys, we got to get a good nights rest. If the female team gets- or leaves - before us, we might not stand a chance. So, good night." He announced, going back onto for legs, jumping down from the stump. He sighed and strated to dig a small den for the night, big enough for one male husky to fit into. He soon had it dug out, the perfect size, to. He quietly layed down in it, ready for a good nights rest, what he had said he and his team needed. He tried to stay awake a little longer, to make sure the toher dogs would go to sleep. But much to soon, sleep caught Lucifer, and he drifted into a deep sleep. His legs squrimed in his sleep, he was dreaming about winning the race.

As Pitch was let off the sled, he still felt pretty good, not too tired. But he still felt tired enough. He ate, then sat debating whether to go talk to the all female dog team. He got up, deciding to approach them, but one of them shot him a look that made him stay back. With a sigh, he lay down. Suddenly he felt tied, too tired, even, to dig a hole in the snow for himself. He sat shivering, his eyes slowly closed and he fell into a cold, cold sleep.
As soon as Belle was off the sled, she gave a sigh of relief. Right now, sleep was all she wanted. She ate, though, and quickly realized how hungry she was. Then she went to go dig a hole for herself. On the way she tripped over Pitch, since he was now covered in snow. She whuffed in surprise, seeing him sleeping in the cold, not in a cosy hole. She saw his eyes looking at her, then with a mumble about tying to sleep, he closed them. Belle shrugged. If he wanted to sleep out here, then....
She just hoped he would be okay. She didn't really like leaving him out in the cold, by the morning his muscles would be stiff and sore.....
But there was nothing she could do, and by this time, she had fallen asleep in her cosy warm hole in the snow, when she had really been meaning to help Pitch.

Saba, just as her dreary eyes were closing, just as the scene started to fade away into her sleep, was disturbed. She noticed that Pitch had fallen asleep in the open in the snow. What could she do though? Saba yawned, and forced herself out of the cozy little den into the freezing open cold. She sniffed around at the mushers belongings and found nothing of use. The best thing she could find was the musher's coat. Would he be upset if he found in covering Pitch in the snow? Well, he would be more upset if Pitch froze to death, so Saba really had no choice. She dragged the heavy coat over her teammate and then scurried as fast as her aching paws could take her back to her den.

Keno blinked out sleepily from his cosy little niche inbetween some boulders, his head resting on his massive paws. He saw Saba's crimson, athletic body flashing in the distance, and watched as she pulled the coat ontop of the unknowing Pitch. Good lass, looking out for everybody. Hm, if it had been up to him, he would have just let him lie there.... He laughed gruffly, before shuffling his weight around, trying to find a comfortable position for his aching limbs.

Pitch woke up early, the cold breaking through his sleep. With a gasp he realized that his limbs were stiff and sore. With a groan he got up, only to find the musher's coat on him. He sat for a while, warming up a little in the little light there was this early. After a while he got up, and managed to drag the coat back to where the musher slept. Each step was painful, his muscles felt like stone. He went out, and started to walk around. By the time there was more light, but the sun still was not fully up, he had broken into a loping run, and was running determinedly.
This was how Belle found him a little time later. She had been worried, but now she saw he was fine, she would never admit it. "Pitch, why are you running around like that?" She asked, knowing the reason was probably his sore muscles. He said something about a coat, as well as sleeping in the snow, and she wondered how he ended up with a coat over him. He asked if it was her. "No.... I went to sleep before you..." She had said, uneasily. She then ran off before any more questions were asked, leaving Pitch suspicious of her unease.

Saba crawled out of her den, shaking the snow out of her fur. She yawned as she stretch, cat-like. She looked up, grinning and her eyes glittering. She wasn't cold- her combination of wolf/husky fur suited the coldest of environments and plus, she was born in Alaska, and right now they were still in southern Canada. And her den had been perfectly sculpted.
Her legs were only slightly sore from the day before, and indication that all of their prior training had paid off. She looked over at all her teammates- her family. She blinked and shook herself again. She saw that Pitch and Belle were already awake, and cried a chirpy good morning to them, like so;
"Morning Pitch, morning Belle! How are you feeling? Ready to race? Well, to continue racing?"
Saba knew that in past Belle had never been too happy to have the hybrid on their team, and neither had some of the other dogs. But Saba knew, or she hoped, that she was finally starting to grow on them. Really, no one can hate you if you are always friendly towards them, can they?
Saba cast a glance over to inspect the all-female team more closely. One of them, Saba had noticed was their lead dog, and Saba was almost certain that she was at least half wolf. Probably part Akita, as well. Either way, she didn't look like the happiest dog in the world. Most of them she noticed had more of a 'SnowBelle' temperament, but one of them, a small, white, team dog, Saba saw herself in. That is, herself a few months ago. Young, shy, inexperienced, but ready to take on anything. Of course, Saba was still like that now, minus the shy part.
As soon as the rest of the team and the musher were completely woken up, Saba knew that it would be time to hit the road again.

Seeing Saba, Pitch cheered up. "Morning, Saba!" Pitch called back, catching a glimpse of Belle rolling her eyes. He bounded awkwardly over to Saba, Stumbling and landing flat on his face in font of her. "Sorry" His words were muffled form a mouth-full of snow. He got up and shook the snow off his thin coat. Although he was a husky, his fur was unusually thin - not in length or density, just each individual piece of his fur was extra fine, thin, and this was not good for cold. It was hard for him already, how would he be when it got colder? His thought were not on this at that moment, but on Saba, and another day of running ahead.
Saba rolled her eyes as Pitch suddenly cheered up and ran to Saba, then gave a mumbling sort of good morning "Morning". She then stopped to inspect the female dog team, noticing a lot of them were a bit like her. She also saw what appeared to be a new dog, who looked like she might be a bit like Saba. She almost smiled, wondering what a whole team of her, with one Saba would be like. She saw them all, standing there. Talking, purposefully, without any fun or mucking around. And this made Belle think. It made her think that really, she wouldn't like to be on a team like that - she liked the team she was in now. Strange enough as it seemed, if she had a chance to join the all female team now, she would decline it.

Saba giggled, but more in the way that she was laughing with Pitch than at him. "How are you feeling? I'm pumped! I don't think I've ever slept so well!" Saba said, before breaking into a continuous trot around their 'campsite'. This was to warm up her muscles so that they were well stretched before they began running again. If they weren't, it would be more than likely for her to be injured.

Lucifer woke up early in the morning, though many dogs on his own team and others woke up before him. He streatched out his limbs, which were sore from the run the day before. Except a small aching in his legs wouldnt stop him from running a race! His eys were wide open by now, and he started to prance slowly over to the group of his awake team members, greeting them with one word. "Morning." He than sat down silently, looking at the all female team beside him. He did a small growl under his throat, quiet enough so no one would be able to hear it. He looked at the lead dog, who was very dark it seemed as, holding in all her secrets- as he was. His eyes were locked on this female, but he quickly realised his gaze and shifted his eyes before she noticed him.
