You feel that way but I feel Transformers 2 was a good movie, the 'sterotype' was a parody, making fun of the sterotype itself, plus, its not secxist, we've got a strong female lead, heck we even had female Transformers, admitingly one didn't play a very major role but Alice was the first Decepticon in the movie to make a public attack. Yes, said female lead was hot but she was no diffrent than her role in the original film. Now can you respect my opinion or are you just going to say I'm dum for liking the movie like you've been doing? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa... hold on a second. A "strong female lead"? Megan Fox's character was paper thin, useless and only there to provide some extra T&A. The actress who played Alice was portrayed as a sex-hungry skank. And Sam's mom was portrayed as stupid and careless. And how can you make fun of a stereotype if you don't do anything to differentiate your "parody" from the stereotype itself? Even on the small chance that it was meant to be a parody, they still came off as racist caricatures, so they failed.

And Sam's mom was portrayed as stupid and careless. And if the black sterotypes were a parody, there was absolutely no reason to portay them as illiterate and have them wear gold teeth. She killed Alice, she captured Wheelie, she was by Sam's side the entire film, how is that a weak character? They didn't develope her character for the simple reason they'd already done that in the first film. Alice was that but there's a very good reason for it, her mission was to get the information out of Sam and considering the Decepticon's methoids, suduction was probably their best bet for a Pretender to do. The last one was just for comady. Yes there was, they were a gangster parody, those things are part of that sterotype, they were over the top to make it a parody, the director said that. Though I have to thank you for being more civil that time.

She wasn't developed in the first movie either. In both movies, she is almost totally unneeded. And even if they did develop her, sequels are supposed to develop the characters further to give you a better sense of what's going on. The motorcycle shot is directed like a porno film.
Also, no matter what Alice's purpose was, the sheer objectification she represented was absolutely uncalled for.
As for Sam's mom played for comedy, it felt like a bad episode of "That Seventies Show".
All this also begs the question: WHY THE HELL ARE THERE SO MANY HUMANS IN A MOVIE ABOUT AN ANCIENT ROBOT WAR??????!!!!!
The transformers can speak and emote, so they're perfectly capable of moving the story along without all this useless romantic comedy BS.

To you, not to me, please respect that, you feel that way, fine.
I respect you find it objectable but storywise, it makes sense. Sam thinks the Decepticons are gone but if they tried to get the information from him with full sized Transformers, he'd suspect something. So they send a Pretender and judging by how much research the Transformers did into Earth culture, a subductive female would seem the perfect way to get one of their own close to him without altering him to their presence, and when that failed, Alice goes Terminator but that's besides the point.
Once again, that's in the eye of the beholder.

Anyway, that's not my point, my point is you didn't state your opinion in a respectful manner to begin with or apologize for doing so, that's why I'm mad with you, not over your opinions but how you said them was disrespectful to the people who liked the movie.

What I'm doing here is dicussing the film. As I've said before, my behavior is a product of anger at this film's undeserved success and admittedly, can be irrational. On a different subject, the humans have always been in Transformers, but have never gotten in the way of the actual story like they do here.

If its your anger, fine but please cool down before you post stuff that disrespects other people. Even if you think the film doesn't deserve the success it got, you could've put it in a more respectful manner than you did is what I'm saying. You could've did it like Jersey Captain did when refering to your rating of Bourno in the rating thread, he said he thought the movie was dumb but said he didn't mean disrespect to you.
On that matter, there's a simple reason for that, time constrants, in a TV series, you've got plenty of time for everyone, in a movie, you've got to settle for the characters you can do the most with, in the writers mind, they were able to get more drama scenes out of the humans than the Transformers, more action from the Transformers.

They could have easily formed compelling drama with the Transformers. Their history, their relationships with other characters, etc. Instead, we're treated to corniest of human characters and some of the worst comic relief I've ever seen in a film.

Well the thing is, they needed to work humans into the plot somehow or then this arguement would be about there being no humans in a Transformers movie, which basically removes the need for them to disguise themselves in the first place and have always been a part of the Transformers' canon.

Everyone can have their opinion. The only thing I hate about the book topics and film/series topics is they can start serious riots and flame wars. Anyways, I watched the movie with my sister and her boyfriend, and I have to say, the movie was very well done. It had us laughing and my sister cried towards end of the movie when they're in the middle of the war and the kid falls(sorry, forgot his name) and well... if you saw it you know. But don't worry, she cries in about every movie with drama. I think it was better than the first, for the graphics and techniques, but also in the comedy. Very well done. I think they're making a third. They HAVE to. They ended with the classic, "It's not over yet... we'll be back!" theme, so they have to make another film. And if they do, I'll definetely be going to watch that movie.
