Balto kept running. "Come on guys, lets kick Steele's tail!" he said and howled.
Fang joined Balto in howling, as did Dusty.
Steele snarled as he ran, trying to catch up.

Kodi howled a little, but he wanted all his concentration on running.
Ralph and Kiby joined in, though their howls went as pretty as the others.
May howled crystal clear and saprano.

After awhile of running snow started blowing, a storm was coming. Dusty slipped on the new snow and fell off the track, hanging on by her claws.
Balto stopped the team. "Come on we've got to help her."
Steele smiled and continued on past the mail team. Once he was out of their site and came to a direction sigh, as his team passed it, he knocked the sigh so it pointed in the wrong direction.

Ralph was the first to Dusty. He grabbed her scruff and pulled her up again.
Kirby was second there and helped Ralph pull Dusty up.
"You alright?" Ralph asked her.
"You okay, Dusty?" Kodi asked, not hearing Ralph asked her. He was a bit annoyed because he wanted to catch up to Steele more than ever now.

"Yeah I'm fine." said Dusty, still a little shaken but ok.
Balto nodded and they started off again. When they came to the fork in the path, they followed the sign, not know Steele had changed it.
Jenna got a cold chill for a second. She let out a small whimper, she knew something was wrong but not what.

The storm was getting worse, and it was getting harder ot see. They hadn't spotted a directional flag in a while. "Dad!" Kodi shouted to Balto. "Are you sure we're going the right way?"
"Yeah," Kirby agreed. "Where are all those flags that are supposed to be here?"
"We probably just can't see them through the snow," Ralph suggested.
"Then we could have easily taken a wrong turn," May worried.
"You okay, Mom?" Rose asked at the sound og her mother's whimper.

"Let's turn around then! I think we did take a wrong turn!" yelled Balto. "Come to think about it, back at the sign Steele's team's prints went the other way! Steele must of changed the sign somehowwwwww!" yelled Balto as the snow under the sled team gave out and the entire team where sent down a steep hill side. Balto's leg hit the ground wrong and he heard a loud crack as pain shot up his leg but he couldn't yelp from the falling.
"Just feeling a little strange hon, I'm fine." said Jenna but in truth she felt like Balto was hurt.

Kodi landed hard on his back, but it wasn't enough to break it. He stood up sorely. He looked around at his sled team. "Is everyone alright?!" he called out to them, still shooken from the fall and not sure where anyone was.
Kirby stood up, too. He was sure and his tail hurt badly, but all in all, he was fine. "I'm good!" he called back.
Ralph stood up easily. He was barely sore at all. "Fine!" he called to Kodi. "Dusty!" he yelled, looking for her in the snow.
May's body hurt everywhere. Her right shoulder was killing her. She must have landed on a stone or something. It hurt too much to get up.
Saba looked out to where the teams went. "That storm is really coming down, isn't it?"
"I hope the team's alright," Rose worried.

Fang got up, being a malmute had some advantages but he was pretty sore. He went over to May. "May, are you alright?" he asked, concerned for her.
Balto stood up but kept his left front leg off the ground. "I think I'm alright." he said but yelpped when he tried to put pressure on his leg. He tried again with the same result, it was broken.
Dusty got up, her ribs were sore, probably bruised up but she could walk. "I'm alright. Looks like May's hurt." she said, concerned more for May, she was close to her. She looked at Balto when he yelpped repeatedly.
Jenna nodded. "I hope Balto is alright." she said. "I've got a bad feeling in my heart."

"You alright?" Ralph asked May, walking over to her with Dusty.
May stood up, not using her right leg but unable to lift it up all the way because of her shoudle. "I;m alright. I think I broke my shoulder, though," she said.
"I feel it too," Saba said, feeling something in her heart.
Rose felt it too, but didn't say anything. "When are they supposed to be back?" she asked worriedly.

Balto tried to put pressure on his foot but he yelpped again. "I think I sprained something, nothing to worry about." he said, trying not to worry Kodi.
Fang whimpered. He gentally felt the shoulder for breaks. "I don't feel any breaks, you might of just knocked it out of place bad." he said. "I can fix it if that's the case but it would hurt a lot." he said.
Dusty went to the musher, he was alive but unconsious. "The musher is out cold." she said.
Jenna sighed. "Soon, I hope we're just paranoid."

"Do you need help walking?" Kodi asked, still worried about his dad no matter what Balto said.
"Just do it," May said to Fang. She closed her eyes, ready for the pain to come.
Ralph, not like seeing dogs in pain, padded over to Dusty. "What do we do with him?" he asked her. "We have to get him to some kind of shelter before he freezes."
"What about us?" Kirby asked Ralph. "What are we gonna do now? We don't know where we are and some of the team won't be able to make the walk back up the hill."
Rose said and laid down. "I hope they get back soon," she mumbled. Rose usually wasn't one to worry, but she couldn't shake of the feeling that something bad happened.

"I'm not sure." said Balto. He tried putting his paw down again and the pain was too much and he fell on his said, whimpering in pain. "Kodi, can you check it?" he asked.
Fang nodded and put his weight on May's shoulder in the right spot. In about a minute there was a loud pop of the shoulder going back into its joint. "That better?" he said. "It was really out of the joint."
Dusty nodded. "Lets just huddle togather with him, that way we're all warm, I'm sure a search party will come out for us."
Jenna nodded and tried to calm herself.

Kodi nodded and looked at Balto's leg. He didn't want to touch it, but he could tell without touching that it was his father's ankle that was sprained. It was really swollen. "I;m not doctor, Dad, but I feel safe saying it's your ankel. It's all swollen. I think you saty off of it for a while."
May stood up and nodded. It was sore, but she could sorta walk on it. "It feels a lot better. Thanks." She licked Fang's cheek.
Ralph nodded. "Just so long Steele doesn't get lost or else they'll think we just got held up with the storm."
"Than we're gonna freeze to death put here," Kirby said. "Thanks for the pleasant thoughts, Ralph."
"Don't worry, guys," Saba said, even though she couldn't keep the worry put of her voice. "They'll be back. Just wait and see."
Rose nodded, not at all convinced. She looked across the snow that she had seen the team last, wondering if she would see them agian. She shook her head. She couldn't think like that. She had to stay positive.

"I heard a loud crack when the pain started." said Balto. "I think its broken." he said. He turned and felt his ankle with his snout. He felt the broken bones. "Yes it is broken." he muttered.
Fang blushed. "You're welcome." he said and returned the lick.
"Don't think negative, if no one else, Mel will think this would happen...on second thought no one tell him this happened, we all know we'd never hear the end of it." said Dusty.
Jenna heard someone say they saw one of the teams coming. She looked, hoping to see Balto but saw Steele's team coming.
"Oh no, they lost!" said Miki. "I hope Kodi isn't too hard on dad."
"Something isn't right, Steele isn't fast enough to beat Balto I know it and Balto would be close behind even if Steele was in the lead." said Jenna.
