Kai's breathing slowly went down, till it was nothing but a soft rising and falling. The pup would slowly noze his way into the warm fur, ever the one who need it.

Katie's eyes widened, and she held on tight to her pup. Her own tears streaming down her face. "It's okay, Lena. It's okay." she tried to sound soothing, her voice low and breath scratching her swollen throat.

Jenna laughed, licking her grandson's cheek softly. "I love you too." she said, unable to contain her amusment at Cachen's almost unsatisfiable curiosity. "Me? Well, I was like your sister. I was shy and never really talked much around others. But, when my girl's parents took me home, Rosy was still a baby. But her and I bonded so well from that first moment I saw her." she smiled, thinking back.

Tai gigged softly and licked Balto's cheek in return. "Mhm," she said through a soft yawn, snuggling against the darkening tawny fur. "I'm tired, yea," she murmured.

Fang looked at Kodi and nodded, showing he didn't mind Kai laying against him. He looked up to listin.

Lena smiled. "Well me, Kai, Tai, and Cachen went somewhere very far away with Grandpa, papa, and Fang, we got something that made you better." she said.

OOC: I guess that could be from her gift.

Balto cocked his head. "Well there are dogs that hate me sweetie but none you need to worry about." he said. "Now rest." he said. He took a deep breath.
Little one don’t you weep
Listin and you'll get to sleep

OOC: Well songs were in the other two movies and I happened to of written a lullaby for a little pup already.

Cachen chuckled. "That's sweet grandma." he said. "What is your girl Rosy like?"

Kai nodded, laying back down into the warm fur of the larger dog.

Kodi listened intently, ears pinning back with almost every word thedoctor said to his assistant:

"Diptheria?!" the young man said, sittign down with a numb groan.

The doctor nodded, feelin the cupboard above his deskl; empty. "Dipthiscus Canidae. Affects all sorts of purebreds. There's no more antitoxin, expect all way in the capital. And we'd need at team of 7 or 8 dogs that aren't affected."

Katie smiled. "Maybe that wasn't JUST a dream." she whispered.

OOC: I wouldn't be surprised. From Balto 2, seems wolves are more spiritually connected, and since the pups are mostly wolf...There ya go.

Jenna nodded. "Oh, my girl; she's the sweetest thing. You'd love her Cachen. She even has an old sled her parents had gotten made for her. Before I had my pups, we used to go into town with me pulling her."

Tai smiled, eyelids drooping until they closed fully, her body curled up against Balto's. She still hadn't escaped that hateful feeling, but let it slowly numb.

OOC: It's sweet, who'd you write it for?

Fang looked shocked but then looked at Kodi. "Well you know what this means? We're going to need the fastest dog in Nome again." he said, finding the hope in the sitiation.

Lena snuggled up to her mother. "I hope so..." she said, she put her ear to her mother's throat. "You're wheezing momma, your throat hurt?" she asked.

Balto sung the song again for his little granddaughter.

Cachen giggled. "I really want too." he said, still so curious. "Grandma, when Rosy got Diptheria, did it make your heart hurt?" he asked.

OOC: just for a short story.

Kai looked up slowly. "What DOGS? What we need, plain and simple, are hybrids." he smirked. "And though I hate it, we're what this town needs." he got up on shaky limbs.

Katie smiled, and for the first time, her sickness really showed within her eyes. They seemed hurt and failing. "A bit, but I'm okay sweetheart." she nuzzled her daughter.

Jenna smiled, giving a soft nod to her ever curious Grandson. "Yes, I felt such pain, and I knew that was when Rosy and I were right for each other."

Tai shivered a moment, ears perked up, as if still wantign to listen. Ever the alert little cutie.
