While I have no problem with people liking Twilight series (or even not liking Stephen King), I'd have to disagree with what you said about Stephanie being better just because she's sold tons of books.

It doesn't matter how many books an author has sold - it doesn't always make them good. For example, at the cinema it's not always the deep, meaningful films that storm the box office, but more often than not it's those big budget style-over-substance films that rake in the dough. It's the same with books. Some of the best books I've ever read were publically burnt when they first came out, or my friends and family have never heard of them.

Well I think the main reason I believe that Stephenie is a good writer is because the books are supposed to be through a teenage girl's point of view. And, being a teenage girl myself, nonetheless the same age as Bella is in the books, she's pretty much dead on. The vocab and everything, the way her mind works. Sure, she's a little (.... okay, majorly!) obsessed with Edward... but the way she writes that in still works for a teenage girl. xD

I'll provide my list of why I hate Twilight. Just so I can differentiate myself from the others and postulate a reason.

1. Romanticism of suicide
I lost someone close to me from suicide. And Bella's relentless suicidal nature just to bring back a man is sickening.

2. Characters are too perfect.
What makes a character is their flaws. And no, Bella's clumsiness isn't a flaw. It's obvious it was injected to make the character seem like less of a Mary Sue.

3. Edward is abusive.
List is too long. Just read this.

4. Bella's weakness
I can get weak characters. But I'm surprised Bella was able to BREATHE without Edward's nod of approval.

5. Purple prose
Meyer dragged out her thesaurus for this one because I can't think of one person who would use the word "infinitesimally" in casual conversation.

There is so much more. But I fear this list is droning on too long.

I personally don't like the series, reason's why, well Sora-Kun said most of them, and the book seemed to be an ALMOST exact copy of this older book. [The first Twilight book]

I disagree, Just because they got sold, doesn't mean everybody liked them, I bought the book and thought it was a COMPLETE waste of my money. So see, just because they got sold, doesn’t mean they were better, and people tend to be blunt with their opinions, a lot of people I know said Twilight was the best book ever, and it “Rocked” other books off the shelf, but I disagree with them, and when I went to find out what everyone was freaking out about the twilight books myself, by reading it, I was disappointed.

I've read all of the books out so far. I am on Team Edward (I purr-fer vampires over werewolves). My favorite characters are Alice,Edward,Jasper,Emmett,Carlisle,Esme, and Bella. I strongly dislike: James,Victoria,Laurent, Jacob, and Rosalie. I hate Rosalie because she didn't care whether Bella lived or died and the other three vampires I hate because they tried to kill Bella! Jacob I hate because he was trying to steal Bella from Edward!

I dunno bout me...

I like all the Cullens (except Rosalie), Edward (a Cullen, lol xD), Bella, Laurant (I don't know why, but I only like him. He seemed nice in the second one. After all, he tried to prevent a painful death for Bella, despite the fact he was "thirsty"), and Jacob (although I have to say, I hate it when Jacob kissed Bella, trying to take her away from Edward).

I HATE Rennesme (I dunno if I spelled the name right, but who cares. XD)! I mean it's cool and all that she's a half-vamp, but c'mon! She basically replaces Edward. It's like Bella loves her more than him! And I don't like it that Jake imprinted on Rennesme either.
