The only character I HATE is Stella. 'Nuff said.

Stella is probably my least favorite. I don't like her design (her 'hair' looked like scary tentacles, and she had pastel purple feathers) and I didn't like her personality.

muk and luk. they contribute nothing.

Balto probably wouldn't have found the plane without them. ^^

But other than that you're probably right.

Don't forget that they saved Balto from underneath the ice in the first movie. Had they not done that.... well, there would have been no sequels and most likely the children would have died since Balto never found the lost team with the medicine [and none of the rest of the group was good enough to follow Steele's scent like Balto could; Jenna could have sniffed them out but she was injured, plus I doubt that Steele would listen to the honkings of a gander that reeks of wolf-dog or a couple of mumbling polar bear babies.].

But I agree, the sequels made them rather useless... save for that little bit about them finding the plane in WoC. They were at least the fluffiest characters in the films, but I still don't think they are the worst.

Seriously, it's just Stella... but I've already stated that.

Yep, the polar bears' greatest moments definitely took place in the first film (then again, that's true of every character from the original.) But even in Wolf Quest, I didn't mind them not having anything particularly special to do; I find them entertaining and cute, and they don't annoy me, so I was just pleased to see them anyway.

In WQ, the only big thing they did was be the playmate for Aleu... oh, and help out with saving her life against the hunter and with telling Balto that they couldn't find her after she ran away... but then they disappeared, only because there were much better and more interesting characters to develop, Aleu being one of them.

Yes, you're right; good point. I wouldn't have minded seeing more, but I guess they had to turn the full focus onto their new main character and her struggles.

Well, that and the bears... they just weren't as cool as the original made them to be. To be honest, if Muk and Luk were in more of the movie, they probably would have either:
a) been a nuisance for Balto, who's being all "I so SRS" on finding Aleu?
b) been a huge target for those wolverines, wolves, that other bear... and probably eaten?
c) had to have turned back halfway in, like they did in the first movie due to some... I dunno, rule of questing thing?
d) ...all of the above?

It probably would not have been pretty, but at least they got back into the adventure some in WoC... but again, see choice C. The hero had to finish the quest alone, because that's how it's always done...? I don't know.

Yes, I think I get what you're saying; it was probably for the best that the bears had their best moments in "Balto" and weren't overdone subsequently, when they weren't able to achieve quite the same level of entertainment and originality. None of those semi-likely scenarios would've been very desirable, and I doubt that it have worked out too brilliantly. Their WoC roles allowed them to demonstrate their capabilities once more, yet ultimately the movie has a sort of "lone wolf" theme going on, and Aleu didn't really need a team of sidekicks tagging along and cluttering up the quest to discover her true identity...it was challenging and interesting enough as it was. Best that it is the way it is, in the end, I reckon... x-)

Stella and Kirby are in my opion the wrost. I'm sorry (for anyone who is a fan of them) but i just Do not like them.

I actually was able to stand Stella; the only thing I didn't like was her song. My least favorite characters are Dixie and Sumac. I just don't like Dixie because of how obsessive she seems to be over Steele (her personality is overall okay, I just can't stand her actions), and I think Sumac is just annoying with the way he chuckles to himself all the time (it is Sumac, right?). Do you think he knows no one else finds him funny?

LOL, unlikely...but don't most of us know someone who just doesn't get that nearly everybody else finds him or her more irritating than amusing?
And as for Dixie, well, *personally*...her final interaction with Steele was enough to not only make up for her former blind, starry-eyed, Bimbette-esque idolization of him, but also to be solidify her position as one of my very favorite characters. ^_~

So true. That line about Steele being disposable has a way of sticking in the mind. She probably meant to say "despicable," but if that's the case then I can honestly say I've never seen a wrong word be so right.

^ EXACTLY...that was great writing---err, I mean, great thinking on her part. More fitting than her prior mix-up ("He's positively mag--NESium!")
