This weekend is the last weekend of the season in which the Cup Series has an off-week. The trucks are in Sparta, Kentucky and the Nationwide Series is at Gateway.

Good, because last weekend, during the Cup race @ Chicagoland, I got so bored watching Kyle Busch go largely unchallenged, I had to check my pulse to see if I was still alive.

Kyle Busch is just having one of those seasons in which he can't do wrong, Jimmie has this kind of streak in the chase last year. The question is whether he can keep up this pace in the next 4 months all the way to Homestead?

The Cup Series and Nationwide Series heads off to the hills of Michigan where in June, Wolf_Bassist's favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. ended a long 76 race losing streak. Tony Stewart could possible end his losing streak this weekend as his team has picked up consistency and performance of late. Can Brian Vickers get a win for Red Bull and keep slim chase hopes alive? Who's bubble will burst as there are 4 races until the chase cut-off at Richmond. A very interesting weekend is up ahead of us as "Wild Thing" goes for win number 9.

The pressure is definitely now on Kasey Kahne. Clint Bowyer won at Richmond in May and David Ragan finished 3rd in the September race there last year.

Jeremy Mayfield made up 56 points at Richmond in 2004 to make the chase, so it is not impossible, but Kasey needs a lot of good things to happen Saturday night if he wants to make the chase.

Nice to see someone other than Carl and Kyle win, but it stinks to look at how bad tihs 24 is running this year. We went from 31 top tens to having cars that don't deserve to run in the top 10. I honestly don't care if he makes the chase or not, we're not going to do anything in it anyway. Man it's dissapointing to see how they are running this season.

And as for my pick for Saturday night, Denny Hamlin; led 381 there and May before tire problems and he's looking for revenge at his home track, his hometown of Chesterfield, VA is not that far from the speeday, so he will have a home-field advantage coming into the race.
