It's a good game.

Thinking back on it the only flaws are the character voices are annoying and sound like stretching plastic *mwa mwa mwa* and that the sprite named Issun does a ton of hand-holding, so the game rarely gets tricky.

It offers about 40 hours of main game so it'll keep you busy for a while.

BTW: Okami is only on the PS2.

I was thinking of buying this game but before i do, is it possible to turn the sprites helping hand off and i must agree from watching my friend play the game, that is the most annoying talking sound ever.

The sprite, Issun, has a big part in the story. He's like Navi for Zelda. So the simple answer is no.

However, the hand-holding isn't as bad as I might have said it before; don't worry.

Also, just make clear that the last statement in my post is wrong: Okami is now on PS2 and Wii.

This is my favorite game for the Wii actually, =D. The story is so good, and I love the characters, <3. I'm letting my friend play through it at the moment, but I want to beat it again after he's through with it. If anyone has been a little shaky on buying this, I'd recommend this game any day of the week. I really hope there will be an Okami 2 soon!

Okami... More like fun kami, This game is amazing! Although the weird peach girl creeps me out. I also agree that although issun does a little hand holding but really he's not so bad.

Is Issun as annoying as Navi, in that he will randomly scream "HEY!" at random intervals, and when you least want him to?

No. If I remember right, he'll only come up once or twice in a given scenario. The first when you come up to the specific event for the first time. The second is when you're either having a lot of trouble or are in the area but just ignoring what you're suppose to do.

He actually doesn't bug you too much. It just that some of his advices are a bit too giving.

It hasn't come from an official sources yet, but there is Okami related news going about.

About a month or so it was reported that Capcom has either obtained or was reissued a copyright that was under the name of "okamiden.' It wasn't big news and many people had their own opinions about it. Surprisingly, the majority didn't think the copyright had anything to do with Capcom's Clover Okami game or the series.

Yesterday night, however, it was leaked that 'okamiden' did relate to Okami in every way possible. I present to you: Okamiden for Nintendo DS

http://www.gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=95071

Obviously, nothing is really known about the game. From the looks of things, it's still in early development.
We need to wait until Capcom itself releases the information to learn more about it.
But know this: Okami lives!

EDIT

Secondary Details have been found. Again, not from Capcom directly, but it is something.

http://www.gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=95094

- Full title: Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou
- new wolf: Chibiterasu
- events take place a few months after the end of Okami
- Issun is accompanying Chibiterasu to meet up with Sakuya, as Sakuya wants to ask Chibiterasu for help
- combat system similar to the original Okami
- draw lines to slash enemies, circle trees to make them grow/bloom
- partner characters for Chibiterasu to work with
- partner will both aid and hinder you, bringing up puzzles that you have to solve in order for you and your partner to progress
- one partner revealed: Kuninushi, son of the swordsman Susano
- learn why Susano has a son, when he didn't a few months ago
- producer: Motohide Eshiro
- director: Kuniomi Matsushita
- Matsushita wanted to make a portable Okami, so he made a prototype and showed it to Eshiro. When Eshiro saw the prototype, the team decided to move forward
- Matsushita wants to go portable with Okami in the hopes of getting a bigger audience to experience what the world of Okami is all about
- due out 2010 in Japan

EDIT AGAIN

This time IGN has a whole article on their site.
http://ds.ign.com/articles/102/1020328p1.html

That pretty much confirms it now. Still, wait for Capcom to say something.
