...No why?" She asked a bit puzzled.

Orion sighed in relief. "Nothing, I was just... checking something." he growled as he reached the bottom of teh long cliff-like climb. "We'll have to go up here," he said to them all. "Watch your step and move slowly."

Okami followed his lead and looked at Aurora to make sure she was okay, then caught up to Orion. "Checking on what?" She stood directly infront of him and didn't intend to move.

"Nothing, my buisness." He made to walk around Okami.

Okami wrinkeled her nose and stopped Orion. "Why?... why don't you trust us...me..."She asked with a slight whimper.

Orion grimaced, and made to dodge her again, then feighnted it, and was finally able to leap over her. "Why don't I trust you?" he asked. "It's not just you, you know. I've learned not to trust anyone, ever - not unless they give the whole world not one reason not to trust them." He turned away again, adding, "I'm letting you and your friends stay with me for the time being - that's the most I can do for you as of now." He didn't turn to look at her again, because he was sure he alrady knew what he would see, and he himself had been burdened with that same heavy price before.

Okami wanted to know more. She didn't give up that easily. She loped up to him again and whispered into his ear. "What happened to you when you were younger?"

Orion looked at Okami and sadly ducked his head. "Fine," he grumbled, "I'll tell you, but keep it quiet, understand?" He sighed then moved forward, beginning his story. "It was not a long time ago... only two months, actually. My pack was letting some stray beasts stay in our territory. My parents thought them friendly. They had come across us on the way back from a hunt. At the time, I trusted everyone - anyone - to be a friend, I had never met anything other. So, we let them come back with us. The leader said they had an injured pup, and a whole slew of hurt wolves. So they followed us back, bringing way more than what I had ever seen. but anyway," Orion paused here then murmered, "There were these two younger pups - probably about my age, or yours and your friends - who seemed to have taken a liking to myself and my sister. One was a male the other a female. We played together, got to know each other's troubles." Orion's eyebrows furrowed here. "And I was such a fool to tell them.... I told the male about my linking with the Stars - another secret," he barked at Okami, "That you must swear to keep to yourself or forfeit your life - and it won't be me doing the forfeiting, it'll be whoever asks you." He looked back down and moved forward again. "So I todl him, and he was amazed. So he asked, 'Who do you speak to?' I answered him exactly true. he asked many other things, and I told him. I remember my sister telling me that I should not have - that I had been a fool to do so." He glared forward, angrily his fur rose, "And he told his mother, who passed it onto the pack... who killed of my own." Orion sadly raised his hea dto the skies again, where the lights glimmered like crystal above them. "So... my sister was killed, my best friend she was... and my parents." He looked back to Okami. "Now that's only one reason. The other is - I allowed two wolves to stay in my cave, like I am doing for you - and they decided that they would attempt to make me a meal in the night. they must have waited for it to get dark, and then they attacked me, awke me from my dreams. I was nearly killed," he went on, "But the Spirits saved me... they came and helped to fight them off." He looked gratefully to the stars and the lights. "However, as the two wolves retreated, one called back and said, 'You are a cursed demon... your life is entwined with ours. You cannot live while we dwell in the dark forests, but you must perrish.'" Orion sighed deeply. "So then I understood the long tangent of dreams I'd been having - there's a price over my head, from thos etwo wolves - the very same ones who kille doff my pack so short a time ago." Orion finnished and glanced at Okami, wondreing if she would even think this a big deall, and he was partly worried - he had had told her of his connection with the Lights and Stars.

Okami listened. "...I swear on me life i won't tell anyone..." She licked his muzzle and held his gaze. "You miss them terribly don't you?" She tried her best to comfort him."Now i see why he dont trust no one" She thought to herself. "I'll have to change that, prove him that he can have faith in me...my friends and that he isn't alone in this world."She thought.

Orion ducked his head gratefully, then padded on forward, stopping at the thick bramble hding bush. "Through here, but be carefull, it's thorny." he stepped back fro Okami to pass him.

((Yea they all gone))

Okami smiled and walked forward then waited for him.

(Maybe W_Luna forgot baout this... she's been posting in her other one every once in awhile, but Kira's gone)

Orion called over his shoulder to the others, "Come on, you'll be left behind!" Feeling slightly more cheerfull, he followed Okami up to his den.

Okami entered his den and looked around. "Cozy" gives him a quick smile.

Orion grinned back in spite of himself and bent his head. "It gets pretty warm in here... and it's really nice to watch the Borealis each night they come." he looked outside and into the sky at them, wistfully hoping he would Dream tonight.
