They teach it my school! Well...then again I live in Scotland
I find Gaelic a beautiful language...but a little useless. You can't go anywhere to speak it(like Spain, France ect. ect.) except Scotland(where I live) so...I think it's a rather useless language. No offense to anyone!
Anyway, I love any Asian language. Particuarly Japanese! I don't know why, lol

Gaelic very nearly became a dead language in the 70s and 80s, Daisy! I'd think you'd love the chance to learn an ancestral language! But that's just me. I know I'm trying with Italian, Hungarian and Czech (even if they're not that useful to me).
Did you know that "Gaelic" actually has two related sister languages? Gaelighe (the Scots version), and Manx...the specific version from the Isle of Man.
Still, Japanese IS a cool language! It's so much different from any Indo-European language in form and structure! I am learning that now, and have been for a little while, on and off...

I feel like a retard for being able to understand that *dies* *un-dies* Well, seeing what it is is one thing, UNDERSTANDING it is something else. If you would understand it, you could write a translation. Btw: People that are able to understand/use the elvenlanguages are no re*tards, no way. The languages are comlex and very interesting to study, because every language has the same root: primitive elvish. Even real linguists are sudying the languages (David Salo for example) Tolkien develomped the whole etymology for his languages.
I don't like it but...Anyway
Heniach nin?
I was obsessed with it for a while and learned a little bit xD

Profanities...wait, you mean an actual language.
As corny as this sounds, and my friend says this all the time...the language of music.
Oh, and French.

Well, if we wanna talk RARE or even dead languages, I'd LOVE to learn Gaelic, ancient Egyptian, Etruscan, Aramaic...
...and, even though I'm not a Star Trek geek (though I do like the show), I sorta am compelled by the awesome sounds of Klingon. I wouldn't do anything as silly as PAYING anyone to teach it to me (like those who take that class offered in some college here in the U.S.), but it is a cool-sounding language (and who can beat a language built around a warrior culture? LOL). And the guy who developed it IS a linguist, which means it was intelligently-assembled...
heh heh...

Umm, yeah... Tolkien was a professor or language and literture.
Klingon is at all very simple... the only hard thing is to use the pre- and suffixes correctly:
SuS - wind, breeze SuS'a' - strong wind
puq - child
puqpu' - children
puqmey - children all over the place
However... Klingon is maybe an interesting sounding language, but it is NO comparson to all the elvenlanguages.
The elvenlaguages have all the same root, a whole etymology, etc while klingon has just a stem, and no "history" if you know what i want to say...
A funny language... but I won't learn it... too boring.

Well, possible...
Tolkien was a professor at Oxford, so i think that could be.
If you want to learn a elvenlanguage, you have to decide whichone first:
Sindarin: Mostly spoken in the flims, and very similar to Welsh
Listen to the Sindarin Version of the Text below
Fanuilos heryn aglar
Rîn athar annún-aearath,
Calad ammen i reniar
Mi ‘aladhremmin ennorath!
A Elbereth Gilthoniel
I chîn a thûl lin míriel
Fanuilos le linnathon
Ne ndor haer thar i aearon.
A elin na gaim eglerib
Ned în ben-anor trerennin
Si silivrin ne pherth ‘waewib
Cenim lyth thílyn thuiennin.
A Elbereth Gilthoniel
Men echenim sí derthiel
Ne chaered hen nu ‘aladhath
Ngilith or annún-aearath.
Quenya: The elven-latin, only a few words in the film, but has a WAY bigger vocabluary.
LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF THE MASTER! (read by Tolkien himself)
Ai! laurië lantar lassi súrinen,
yéni únótimë ve rámar aldaron!
Yéni ve lintë yuldar avánier
mi oromardi lissë-miruvóreva
Andúnë pella, Vardo tellumar
nu luini yassen tintilar i eleni
ómaryo airetári-lírinen.
Sí man i yulma nin enquantuva?
An sí Tintallë Varda Oiolossëo
ve fanyar máryat Elentári ortanë
ar ilyë tier undulávë lumbulë
ar sindanóriello caita mornië
i falmalinnar imbë met,
ar hísië untúpa Calaciryo míri oialë.
Sí vanwa ná, Rómello vanwa, Valimar!
Namárië! Nai hiruvalyë Valimar!
Nai elyë hiruva! Namárië!
