Tara awkwardly sat down at a table inside, not even looking at anyone else.
Ellis sat down beside her and put his hand on her back. "Everything's gonna be okay between them." he promised, hoping he was right.
She didn't make eye contact as she replied, "How could he do that? How could he do that when Chase was sitting right there?"
Carmen came over to them and sat down on Tara's other side, not saying a word.

Tara roughly wiped away a tear that had escaped from her eye. "How could he do that?" she repeated in a choked voice.
Ellis leaned in closer. "They'll work it out, they always do."

"You're right..." Tara finally said, her eyes becoming more stern. "But I still don't like what he did."
"I know, me neither." Carmen added at the last second with a scowl.

Carmen stood up in a bit of a huff and went over to the counter to get some coffee. "You guys want anything while we wait?" she asked.
Ellis shook his head, then went back to Tara. "You alright?"
Tara sniffled and nodded, her eyes angry. "It's Dee who's not gonna be alright when I get at 'im!"
"Hey don't talk like that." Ellis interrupted.

Tara sniffled and nodded towards the door. "Can I go back now?"
"Not yet." Ellis answered calmly. "I think they'll let us know when they're ready."

Tara instantly lifted her head when she saw Chase and Dymitri walking out of the car holding hands. She wasn't sure what to think; should he be happy for Chase or still be mad at Dymitri? She jumped out of her seat and stood by the table, waiting anxiously.

Ellis just stared awkwardly at his feet, tapping his fingers on the table.
Tara scootched closer to Chase, then whispered, "...Do I need to beat him up for you?"

Tara smiled when he picked her up, then leaned back so her head rested just below his shoulder. Then her grin faded as she said, "But that was a bad thing he did."
