Stesuko's laugh made Rue smile, and break out laughing too when she saw Jaci's confused and surprised expression.

Jaci slunk slowly away from the water, ears flattened and tail drooping in embarrassment. "It's ok, Jaci!" Setsuko called. "We're here for fish, remember?" Jaci perked up excitedly at the word fish, tongue falling out of his mouth.

Rue's laughs subsided, a smile in it's place.

"Alright, then," Said Setsuko, "Let's get started!" She crouched by the water's edge, watching carefully. She had learned in the past few days that fishing here was not quite the same as fishing at the South Pole. She had watched Jaci and slowly adapted to the warmer weather. She gazed into the water, careful that her shadow did not fall onto it and scare off the fish.

Rue, who had not fished alot, copied Setsuko and watched her for a clue on what to do

Setsuko kept her unique eyes on the water, intent on looking for...Ah! There's one!" Setsuko slowly brought her arms closer, still careful for her shadow now to fall on the surface, which was slightly rippled by the fish's movements. Suddenly, she struck, creating a big splash. She lifted the fish out of the water, struggling to keep a hold of it as it thrashed a squirmed. The fish was slippery and hard to grasp. Thinking fast, Setsuko tossed it away from the lakeshore, so that it would take a while for the fish to get back to the water, if it could. Jaci quickly caught it as it was thrown, finishing it off with a sharp bite in its center.

Rue watched, fascinated. "That was awesome," she said, brown eyes shining. She turned towards the water, eyes flickering as they searched for a fish. A slight shimmer caught her eyes, and her gaze locked onto it. A fish. Her hand crept out over the waters surface, and she tried to grab it. The water had warped her vision slightly though, and when it was farther away than it look, she lost her balance and ended up in the water. Sputtering, she spat out water.

Setsuko bit back a giggle. "Not so easy, is it?" She called to Rue. "Of course, back home, we use fishing poles, spears, nets and all that other stuff. It's easier that way...here we have to use bare hands!"

"Tell me about it," Rue agreed, still gasping for breath. She sloshed back to the shoreline, swiping dripping hari away from her face.

"It's ok, you'll get the hang of it," Said Setsuko, trying to comfort Rue, whose face had 'frustrated' written all over it. "They're a bit slippery, so even if you manage to touch one...it's hard to hold onto. At least you, tried. right? Heh."

Rue didn;t respond, only twisted her hair, making water turrn the dirt into small patches of mud.

"I assume you're done fishing? Jaci can take over; he's really good." Setsuko informed. Jaci's tail went straight up at the praise.

Rue stared at the water distrustfully. "I bet Jaci's better at it than I am. Of course, it would be hard not to be," she said, cracking a smile.

Setsuko smiled too. "Oh, I've seen worse, trust me!" She insisted.

Rue's smile widened. "Is that seriously possible?"
