Sadie shook her head. She knew Starpath always thought of Blacpad as never less than just an annoyance, but she let Blackoad dream. He might as well be able to think she loved him back, even a tiny bit. "It would be best to just leave 'em be."

Clover winced at the huge cast wrapped tight on Dustin's leg, and felt a pang of sympathy for the poor guy.
"I knew somebody who broke his leg once." Clover said, scratching her ear thoughfully. "He busted it up really bad. But they were clever, them humans at the city Vets. They harnessed his back legs into a sort of chair on wheels, and he could just pull himself along on his front legs. So even though he had a bad leg, he could still get around just fine." She felt a bit bad saying the next thing,"I'm going for a run now, so see ya later everyone!" She wagged her tail and trotted out of the ward room door.
Clover was walking down the dirt track when she heard whispering voices and looked around her cautiously. She could smell other dogs, but she couldn't see them, so she carried on walking towards the fields.

Clover squeezed her slender body under a wooden fence rail and found herselfi in another vast meadow that stretched on forever. At the moment she was in seventh heaven. Her fur already had some mud caked on it, and everywhere she ran she could smell rabbit, badger, stoat, fox, and shrew! So many scents that would make a dog absolutely ecstatic. She bounded through the heather, her nose to the ground, taking in all the wonderful smells of country life. She had never felt so free in all her years in the city. Suddenly she gave a bark of triumph and began to scrabble frantically at a rabbit hole, trying to dig as deep as she could to get to the rabbits, kicking up a shower of dirt. Suddenly she heard a low grunt. She stopped her concerntration and turned to see what it was.
A big, tank- like, creamy object stood a distance away, it's tail lazily flicking in the sunshine. Clover stared at the strange animal, at quite a few metres away it didn't look very big at all. She gave a friendly bark to get its attention, wagging her tail. The thing stopped chewing, and swung around its bulky head to face her. Clover saw two beady little eyes, and two enormous, sharp horns, and realised that it wasn't that small at all...it was actually huge....and it was thundering straight towards her...
Before she realised what she was doing Clover raced away towards a big haybale and began to climb desperately up the side, she only just made it to the top before the bull caught her. She stood, panting and shaking as the bull roared in frustration and pawed the ground. Suddenly the hayblae swayed dizzily and she nearly fell off! The bull gave a snort and began ramming its horns into the hay, taking out great chunks of straw and making the haybale begin to tilt and wobble. Clover realised to her horror that before long the hybale would collapse, with her ontop of it....
"HELP!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. "ANYBODY HELP!!"

Cooper smiled at Genisis before a cry for help reached his ears. "Did you hear that?" he asked Gen. He listened harder. "Come on. It sounds like someone's in trouble." He lead the way out of the barn and followed his ears to the bull's pen. And on top of his bail of hay, a dalmation. Coop hurried forward and shouted up to the scared dog, "Hold on! We'll get you donw!"
Coop looked around and spotted a small wooden latter standing against the wall of the stable, probably to get to the hay loft. Coop ran and took it in his teeth. He hurried back to the female and Gen, off balance from the heavy latter. Coop finally made it and leaned it against the fence so the top was at top of the hay stack, easy reach for the dalmation. He held it steady as he yelled, "Just climb down!"
"She's new, right?" Sonya asked Starpath.
"You have every rite to be proud," Sadie said to Blackpad.

Turbojet heard the cry as well. "I'll be back," he promised, racing out of hte hospital. He reached Cooper and Clover. "What ahppened?" he panted.
Starpath nodded. "Yeah. That's what Turbojet said anyway."
blackpad grinned. "thank you!"

Coop shrugged. "Me and Gen were in the barn when we heard her yelp," he explained. "Still not sure how she got herself up there."
Sonya turned to Dustin. "When are you getting outta here?" she asked him.
