Heather didn't understand. Was he breaking up with her? After all they'd been through? All the tears, all the 'I love you's were for nothing? Heather wouldn't believe it. "No Atticus, I need you. I'm in too deep, I love you too much. If you were to...Leave me...I wouldn't make it." Heather said, sobbing ever so slightly.

Atticus felt his heart breaking, he didn't want her to be in danger anymore. He truly loved her, but he didn't want her to live like this. "Heather... please... I... Hate knowing that something could happen to you..." he took hold of her hand and looked down trying to think of what he wanted to say.

Heather blinked back tears, her heart feeling as if it'd been ripped out and torn to shreds, but she could feel every tear. She clutch Atticus's hand tightly and felt her nose become runny, "And I don't want to loose you..." She croaked, the tears falling freely now.

Atticus ungripped his shoulder and wiped his hand on his jeans... "...Heather..." he sighed wrapping his arms and hugging her, tears in his own eyes. He stuck his hand in his coat pocket, to get a tissue, when his hand touched the cold metallic ring, but he didn't say anything, or pull out the ring, confused by what it was.

Heather gripped Atticus tightly, burying her face in his shoulder. “Please Atticus, I won’t make it by myself…I won’t…” She sobbed, hugging him tighter.

Atticus had to blink back tears as her rested his cheek on the top of her head. "... Heather... You're better off without me... No one will try to hurt you anymore... I love you too much to let you keep gettng hurt..." he said in a scratchy voice, holding her wit one arm, and clenching the ring in his other hand.

"Please Atticus...Don't...Please..." Heather sobbed, closing her eyes. How would she continue living without him? Who would scare away the nightmares?

Atticus held her close, lost in thought. He finally made up his mind, he pulled away from her and looked into her eyes. "... Merry me?" he asked suddenly, pulling the ring from his pocket, and taking hold of her hand.

Heather looked at him, confused and taken aback by the question, "Y-Yes." she said, almost too quickly.

After the moment had sunk in, Atticus blinked. She had said, yes!? He blinked again, her answer had come too fast, he looked at her. "Really? Heather please think about this... You don't have to say yes... Y-you don't have to... I don't want you living in fear the rest of your life... and, I'm afraid that's what'll happen..." he said softly, "...I-I wasn't able to protect you..." he whimpered, reffering to the time she was kidnapped at starbucks, and by the time he reached her it was too late.

"I want to be with you," She said simply, "Regardless of fear. I want to be with you forever." Heather said through a smile on her face. She kissed him softly, throwing her arms around the base of his neck.

Atticus blinked and smiled when she kissed him. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back. Until he heard the sound of sirens blared in the distance, he pulled away slowly. "C'mon, let's get outta here." he said softly.

((Attie and Heather are married, and he's given up being Ghost so he could have a life with her. Well Nate's 17-18ish now and he's still getting in trouble with the law, but now he's in school, and is the 'heartache' on campus. All the girls love Nate and most have had a relationship with him. But what if Nate ends up falling for a 'good girl', she makes like good grades and all that kind of stuff. Then Nate gets in trouble and for some reason has to go work for this girl's Dad who basically hates his guts xD. So there's a forbidden love, thing going on. Yay for randomness!!)
