"I dunno, I didn't hear anything. What did it sound like?" Setsuko inquired.

"Like, a growl or something," Rue said nervoulsy.

"Maybe...but I don't think it was," Setsuko replied, remembering how Jaci had looked nearly as surprised as Rue.

"Then what was it?" Rue asked.

Setsuko shook her head slowly. "I don't know, Rue." She murmured. "I just don't know."

Rue said nothing, her muscles relaxing as the growl did not sound again.

Setsuko sighed slowly. "Well, I guess we can't really figure out what it is right now," She concluded. "Unless you can be more specific on what is sounded like, or where you heard it?" She glanced at Rue questioningly.

"It sounded like a kind of liquid growl, like the kind you sto-" Realization hit Rue. "I must be an idiot," she concluded, grinning from embarrassment.

Setsuko grinned with wild realization. "Hungry, are you?" She teased playfully. "We can go hunting or fishing if you'd like."

"Let's both go fishing this time," Rue suggested, a slight blush apparent on her cheeks.

"Alright," Setsuko agreed quickly, heading for the door. Jaci bounded after her, tail straight up in the air.

Rue followed the bi-bender, passing through the rotting door frame and heading towards the lake.

Jaci trotted in front of Setsuko, not bothering to pace himself. He'd had enough of swimming in the lake today....but getting food was a whole different story. His paws itched for a fish to scoop up; his teeth yearned to sink into flesh.

The lakeshore soon came into view, the glittring blue surface broken only by a diamond pattern of waves caused by the slight breeze. Feeling relaxed, Rue smiled, her brown eyes warm.

Jaci charged in, excited, and then skitted to a sudden halt as he realized how close to the water's edge he was. He stood there for a moment, gazing at his surprised reflection. Setsuko laughed. "Jaci, you crazy lion!" She taunted.
