Katie nodded sadly, gently nuzzling Cachen. "Don't cry, sweetie. Grandpa's gone to get them back and-" she looked around, blinking a moment "Where's Kai?"
Kai had run off, following closely and silently behind Balto.
Kodi blinked, confused. "Human...but not human?" he repeated, thinking. "That's impossible...that can't happen...."

Cachen whined. "He followed Grandpa Balto." he said, still sicked by Mako's cruelty. "That bad man hurt you, didn't he momma?"
Balto approached the house. "Kai, I know you're back there."
"I know...but that's what he feels like." said Lenatei. "It feels like...something supernatural is within him." she said. "Maybe its because his soul is so evil it makes him seem inhuman...but then again, he does have some strange traits." she said. "He can understand animals."

Katie nodded understanding, why Kai had followed Balto. Looking to her youngest pup, her eyes widened slightly, before she nodded. "Yes, Cachen... he did." she said with a light whine.
Kai nodded, coming out in the open. "Good. Then I don't have to sneak into the house with you. I want to help..."
Kodi shook his head, very confused by all of this. "He's weird, all right. There's no if, and, or but about it... But, whatever it is it's not good."

Kai nodded, looking at th house. "It reeks of dead things..."
Kodi nodded, ears pinned back against his skull. "So Mako can't find us again..."

Cachen whined. "Still...I kinda feel sorry for him..." he said. "Being so full of hate...its sad."
Balto nodded. "It's a house of horrors alright."
OOC: MAybe Balto and Kai could fight Titan around her as like a finale, would that work?
Lenatei nodded. "Yeah...we can't let that happen." she said. "I just wonder how he found out to begin with."

Katie nodded, giving Cachen a light lick on his cheek. "you are so sweet, Cachen..."
Kai shuddered lightly. "What a depraved mind..." he murmured, ears folding back. "Should we go in or what?"

Kodi nodded, a scowl of suspicion on his face. "I'm not entirely sure... it's kind of weird... okay, it's definitely weird."

Lena nodded. "Yeah, Cachen is such momma's sweet little North Star, right?"
Cachen blushed, but cuddled close to his mother. "I missed you a whole lot momma."
Balto nodded. "Let's head into the house and see if we can find anything." he said, heading in. The upstairs wasn't what he expected, it was primarally cosy looking, to a human, but the scents in it, beyond human ability to smell, made Balto gag. "It smells worse in here."
Lenatei nodded. "We need to make sure it doesn't happen ever again."

Katie chuckled, curling up around Cachen. "You know you want to come here, so come lay with me a little while..." She nuzzled Cachen gently, and inhaled, gagging lightly. "Cachen, Lena..." she sniffed her pups. "You all smell terrible!!"
Kai nodded, his muzzle scrunching up in a way to deal with the unpleasant smell of death. "He sick!" he said, ears pinned back hard against his skull.
Kodi nodded dutifully, looking at Katie. "It won't as long as I'm around."

"Yeah...so the dogs wouldn't find us we all got skunked." said Cachen. "IT worked for awhile."
Balto looked at the books. "These aren't what I expected..." he said, normally Dogs couldn't read, but Tina had taught him how. "They're all just science fiction books."
"I feel the same way Kodi." said Lenatei, smiling.

Katie nodded checking him over. "did you get hurt, baby, are any of you hurt?" she asked, concerned.
Tai shook her head, even though her head was killing her... She thought it best to not worry her Mother.
Kai tilted his head. To him, they looked like boxes with scribbles... snorting in a bit of frustration, he began sniffing around and resisting the urge to gag. "What do they say, Grandpa??"
Kodi smiled, happy to know someone believed in him.

Balto looked. "They're about Werewolves, its a mystical creature humans once believed in, a human cursed to transform into a human-like monsterous wolf on a full moon to attack others."
"Now go be with your mate, she needs you." said Lenatei, smiling.

Katie sighed softly, nodding. "Good, I'm glad you're all okay."
Kai looked at the squiggles strangely. "That's really dumb... There could be no such thing as a half man, half wolf." he snorted once more, before sniffing around a bit. "I'm having trouble finding the scent of the fur, even with you right here, Grandpa."
Kodi nodded, gulping. "I'm nervous." he admitted, not liking the glint of fright in her eyes.

Balto found another room, this one full of pelts from various animals. "I think its in here." he said. "Man this is creepy."
"You just traveled a great distence to get here." said Lenatei. "For her. She'll be happy to see you."

Katie sat up slowly, looking sadly at the space where the 'M' had been. "Yes, and I'm glad. I could have been stuck with a very real reminder if she hadn't."
Kai's eyes widened in pure horror. He smelled each every one of the pelts, eyes watering in remorse. "Fox, squirrel, skunk, rabbit..." he continued down the narrow room until two shinign white pelts hung on the wall before them. "Wolves..." he said, tars overflowing as he recognized the distant scents of Aniu and Lenatei. "They smell like you and Mama." he said softly, pain in his voice.
