“We all do little brother” Loki replied hugging him.

“That black dog is a devil, cold hearted and evil” Said Shay.

“It’s like he’s partially controlled somehow” Duncan added.

Konrad rolled off and onto his feet, CLACK; his teeth came together millimetres from Demon’s ear. He leaped at Demon again, biting the top of his head and pulling;
a small object fell into his mouth he spat it out as hard as he could not realising that it went flying towards the pups…
Konrad grabbed the scruff of Demon’s neck and half threw half slid the black Malamute a few feet, growling he braced himself for another attack.

The small object that Konrad’s had spat out hit Zeke on the nose he Yelped in surprise and looked down in it “A MICROCHIP” he exclaimed loudly.

All the other dogs gasped in surprise.

“So that’s it, you where right Papi, Duncan; that was what made him unnatural, I heard of microchips that can do things to dogs-bad things. Maybe he isn’t so evil after all”
Rocky said who was sitting next to Papi on one side and Shay with Duncan on her other side.

Freda crawled through the hole in the fence and shook herself; she looked around there were many dogs of all sorts of breeds colours shapes and sizes, and some Puppies.
2 of the adults seemed to be in a fight. They were talking about a microchip that did bad things to dogs. “What on earth is going on here” Freda asked in a voice that was like birdsong.

Most of the dogs and pups looked round, except for Konrad who was concentrating on Demon; they saw a pretty white female malamute with blue eyes!

Demon looked at the chip he now knew why they liked him and how he knew almost everything, he did not move but stared. He did not even notice Freda, growling he jumped up and walked over to the barn he felt humans in it, he then started to claw at the hinges. They will pay for what they did to me, i just want to be normal, they took away my whole life, but he knew he never would and as he clawed, for the first time in his life he started to cry.

Halfblack, Shadow and Black just stared knowing that Demon had never lived a normal life.

Nuka suddenly understood everything, He has been controlled his whole life, he has never been allowed to be normal. Humans, why do they have to be so nasty to animals? I understand why he wants his revenge but if he hurts the humans he cold be euthanised. “To…” he said looking for the grey and white pitbull But Toa had already gone over to Demon, and so had her mate Kau. They’ll persuade him not to hurt the humans and tell him about their policeman friend and what’s in store for those two guardmen. He went over to Freda, “Hi there, what’s your name, and I’m Nuka!”

Freda now understood everything too, and she was shocked what a terrible thing to do to any animal, deprive it of a normal life, especially such a handsome male as him! She started to walk over to him, “oh hi Nuka, I’m Freda, what are you lot doing here anyway?”

“Rescuing all the animals in this lab, we have arrangements for the welfare of them all-long story, you may join us if you like. But go and meet the black dog I know you want to” he smiled at her.

Freda smiled, Nuka was nice, “Yep Ill join, and thanks Nuka see you soon.”

Konrad watched Demon, the fight was over, or at least this one was, he seemed to be interested in Halfblack. “I hope have won you Hawhe” he said. “But poor guy imagine not being yourself for your whole life! And then he realised demon was crying he looked at Halfblack lost for words.

Freda went over to Demon, she was shocked to realise he was crying, gently she licked a tear away.

“I know you want revenge but you’ll never get in there that door is very strong ad so are the hinges, all you’ll dos break your claws and hurt your paws” Skull said gently.

Toa was over by Demon “Excuse me Dog” she said gently as she didn’t know his name yet “If you hurt those humans other humans will find you and put you to sleep. I know you have lost your life so far thanks to bad humans. But there are many good ones too; we know one, a policeman who will bring them to justice. He will get them for animal welfare drunkardness and the making of illegal drugs. They will go to jail and pay for what they have done to you and others.”

“Yes and the jail is horrible I have heard the food is tasteless the beds extremely uncomfortable and they have to sort stinky human rubbish for recycling and do other nasty jobs.”

It was just then that a piece of newspaper blew across the Lab aria and hit Prima in the face she shook it off and gasped, it was the headlines and there was a picture of the 2 guardmen! Prima cold read human writing “Wanted for Murder and Rape” She read the headline above their picture aloud.

“Wow” Kau exclaimed “they will be bought to justice, and the American law is very clear on what they do with murderers and other violent criminals, they will never hurt another human or animal again! And in the meantime they will live in the jail I mentioned.”

“They will get what they deserve for everything they have done, to animals and people” Rocky said

All the other dogs though saddened and angry at what the humans had done to Demon agreed that he guardmen would get their justice.

Freda sat down next to Demon “The dogs here are going to rescue all the other animals from the Lab, I’m going to help them; come with me and help us. Do something good and help save these animals from a terrible fate, it will make you feel better believe me, I know from experience I’m Freda, what’s your name?”

Inside the shed the 2 guardmen where petrified with all the noise Stinko was so scared he wet himself!

Tanga And Dodger, they we going to be my new parents, Tanga is very nice but;…” suddenly everything was just too much for the little Cardigan Welsh Corgi; his past with his abusive drunk owner
and escaping, Tanga and Dodger disappearing, the drunk guardmen, and everything else burst into tears and snuggled up to Macy. “I’m worried about Riley and Solo too none of hem have come back”
he whimpered.

Freda nuzzled Demon and said in a whisper “I wont tell anybody about your crying; but know this it doesn’t put you down in my judgement of you, in fact think better of you for it!

Rocky suddenly realised something, it was Konrad who got the chip out of Demons head and released him from its control, I have to tell him! Rocky stood up and shook his coat of browns, black and white, he went over to Demon. “Demon” he said “If Konrad hadn’t got that chip out of your head it would still be controlling you, you owe him your escape from it! You will be able to be more normal now, and be who you really are! I’m rocky by the way, and I promise I won’t tell!”


Freda had been licking the small wound on the top of Demon’s head she gasped and looked at Rocky, Rocky’s right she thought.

Konrad looked at Demon, Rocky and the other dogs with him, He had heard what Rocky had said should I go and talk to him and try to make friends? He pondered, then on a snap decision he smiled at Halfblack and nuzzled her “I’m going to talk to Demon, try and make friends” he said and went over to Demon. “May we let bygones be bygones and make friends Demon? He intentionally didn’t mention anything about the microchip and what it had been doing to Demon “and I promise I won’t tell"

“I’m Nuka, the Alpha, I won’t tell either but Demon, some of the animals we are going to get out are rats, mice, cats And guinea pigs, please don’t hurt them.
There is s big lot of meat waiting for all of us outside the lab in woodland park. Welcome to The rescue group, and enough for all of us and more! Now if you will excuse me I must go and check
on some friends of mine.”Nuka went round the pile of boxes and saw a dog ling on the ground, covered in blood; four dogs Tanga, Dodger, Solo and a dog Nuka didn’t know who looked a bit like Riley.
And it was Riley that was the dog lying on the ground covered in blood. He ran over, the other dogs were tiring to stop the bleeding from Riley’s wounds and suddenly he saw what had happened.
The guard dog had half killed riley, the other dogs where trying to stop her bleeding. Riley, Can you hear me? He said over the screams of pain she was uttering. If you had asked
I would have come and helped you-or sent Skull or another good fighter with you, I should have insisted I’m sorry. Can I help? he asked.

"Yes yes Rocky i do owe Konrad somthing" Demon shook his head feeling dizzy he fell to the ground panting hard, he tried to move his legs but he could not, something told him he was going to die. He tried to yelp but before pain took over "HELP!" he shouted before he felt to the ground unconsous crying softly he looked at them will i ever see them again.

At that moment Halfblack, Shadow and Black raced to Demons side.

THE LAB RSCUE AND RILEY

“I know riley, and I’m going to do the best I can to save you!” Replied Nuka his heart ached for Riley and tears welled up in his eyes as he looked
into her beautiful brown ones.
“Well Rocket, Riley, the closest vet I know, Jules is about a ¼ of the way between here and Central Park. If we can get you there he will treat you then release you when you are healed.” But how to get you there?”

“That Cart we saw earlier, we can gently roll her onto a big piece of cloth and somehow manoeuvre her onto it” Dodger said.

“There is a gate not far from the hole we came in trough, the hinges are rusty I think a dog like Skull or Papi cold break them!” Tanga said


“And if we could somehow encourage Jules to come to the south entrance of woodland park in his animal ambulance. Then he could take her to
his surgery but he wouldn’t see us here at the lab.” Solo put in

“Good ideas I’ll go and see if anyone else has ideas to help too, and get the cart; Rocket I think you would be a good size to pull it, ill find someone else too.” He paused for a moment to sniff the ear Riley had ripped off so it was a Doberman who fought Riley! He thought, as the big black and
white husky ran off round the boxes. Just in time to see two new dogs come through the hole in the fence. One is a Doberman Riley’s fighter? He thought with a growl in his throat-no he has both his ears he’s not the one who injured Riley the other one looks female he thought and is probably an Australian Cattle dog. Good Shay and Duncan are talking to them.
The he saw Demon collapse and ran over to him 'Demon what’s happened are you OK?'

TIAKI AND K?HUI AND THE LAB RESCUE
K?hui woke up in the huge cave and yawned, it was illuminated by the glow worms on the ceiling, the soft blue light emitting from them was bright enough to see her half brother, Tiaki quite well. The Doberman cross was fast asleep, the Australian Cattle Dog cross smiled at him and walked through the
downward sloping tunnel that connected the cave under the hill to outside. She tripped over a tree root Clumsy she thought. And went to relieve herself a little way downhill. Then she noticed a noise that seemed to be coming from the large yard round the building they had passed the previous evening. She
ran uphill and looked down on the lab yard; many dogs where there two of them seemed to be fighting. She ran back downhill and into the cave “Tiaki,
Tiaki wake up!” Said as she gently shook his shoulder.

“W wh what’s up K?hui?” Tiaki said as he woke up.

“Something’s happening in that yard place we passed yesterday evening, quick Tiaki were going to find out what’s happening!” and with that she ran off Tiaki hot on her heels.

The two dogs ran downhill and found the hole in the fence they arrived just before Nuka came round the boxes.

Hi I’m K?hui, what’s happening here? K?hui asked a big black Alsatian/husky cross.

“Hi K?hui I’m Shay were going to rescue animals from the lab here” Shay said Our Alpha is Nuka.

“Yes but things keep happening to delay us” Duncan said “I’m Duncan, Shay is my sister ,Nuka is the big black and white husky who just appeared”

“Oh” Tiaki said “I’m Tiaki by the way K?hui is my half sister”

“What’s up with him?” K?hui asked as she ran over to Demon.

When Demon had collapsed and cried out “help” Freda had gasped Demon? Se looked down at him “Demon can you hear me?” her shadow fell over him, the light behind her creating an optical illusion of a halo.

“Hi I’m Rocky”; he quickly explained about the microchip-leaving out the bit about Demon crying.

“Perhaps this is related to the microchip” Papi said.

“Maybe Papi, look guys Riley is badly injured we need a vet quick, if we could get the one called Jules to the west entrance it would be fantastic,
we have ideas to get her there” Nuka said if necessary we can take Demon too.

“We know Jules too Nuka K?hui said “OK Tiaki go and get Jules and bring him to the west entrance however you can, go Tiaki.”

Tiaki nodded and ran off towards the south gate, "I hope we can save the dog-Riley I think her name was. Beaitifull name, Jules is unserstanding but how to get him to understand that we need him to come to the sout gate of woodland park in the middle of the night? he thought aloud, oh hi whats your name?

"Toa, and I have an idea to get Jules here" Toa’s said as he ran with Tiaki the arrived at he gate "Ok here’s a temporary sign it said “Woodland Park, south entrance” Toa quickly scratched SOS on it, the hung it over Tiaki’s neck with the thick string that was on it.

“Great Idea Toa” Tiaki said “I’m sure Jules will understand and come in his Animal Ambulance, Bye!” And with that he rushed off though the sign bumped against his chest it didn’t slow him down and he was there in 10 minutes.
