Sunny's owner came in and gave her some food, petting her. He saw the others, he knew Kodi from his mail runs and gave the dogs food. He gave Ana and Maria candy canes before leaving.
"Rosy, what's this?" asked Ana, looking over the candy cane having never seen one before. "It smells good." she said.
Aleu looked to Kodi. "I guess you know that guy." she said, refering to Sunny's owner.

Maria licked her candy cane. "It does taste good," she encouraged Ana.
"I think so," Kodi said. "He might have seen us once when the mail team came through."

"Well he likes us then." said Aleu. "I like your owner Sunny."

Rose took the candy cane in her own mouth and gently tugged it off Ana's fur. She set it back down in front of Ana. "You have to be careful, though. It gets sticky."
"Well, thank you," Sunny said. "Yes, Will is a good man. It does a fine job in taking care of me."
