Trick padded to Ruger. "Dad, wake up!" he cried.

Jemimah just starred at him.

David looked at Temple and backed away so they could have their space.

Buddy let go and sighed. He looked at Trick and said very sadly "He's not going to wake up Trick."

Trick said nothing, but starred at Ruger, his eyes full of emotion. He cried.

Jemimah just sighed, and sat down.

Temple continued to stare.

Buddy sat next to his brother and tried to comfort him.

David sat next to Temple but kept his distance from the rest of them so that if they DO recognize him he could get away before they killed him or so that Temple could step in and save him from her pack. He looked at her and said "I'm sorry Temple. That should have been me that died back there, not him. Not your father. HE didn't deserve death but I did. I was the one who captured him along with Calico and if I didn't do that then he would still be alive. Everything is my fault. Everything is ALWAYS my fault."

Temple looked at David, square in the eye. "David, everyone dies. No body lives forever." she said. "And I won't either.

David bowed his head in defeat and said "I know that but if I didn't go after him then he would have lived a lot longer. I don't even know why I was born. I ALWAYS bring misery and gloom everywhere I go."

Temple said nothing to comfort him. She just gazed at Ruger. "Is Turbo our leader now?"

David shook his head and said "You are the rightful air Temple, not Turbo. You shall lead."

Temple jus looked at him.

David looked at Temple and asked quizzically "What?"

Temple shook her head. "But Turbo was the beta."

David shrugged and said "He may have been but you are next in line because of blood. You have your father's blood in you and I dare any dog to face you in a leadership fight."

Temple's eyes blazed with fire. "You're right." she murmured. "This pack is mine." She jumped onto a rock, the same one that Calico had stood on many moons ago, and yelped, "I am the new alpha of Swiftpack!"

David walked up to Temple and said annoyingly "Don't be so hasty about pronouncing yourself Temple. The greatest dog of the last generation has just passed. Pronounce yourself alpha tomorrow or the next day." HE grabbed Temple by her scruff and pulled her alongside him while he left. When he and Temple was alone, David released Temple and said "Why do you act so heartlessly. Didn't you see everyone mourning over your dad?"

Temple snarled. "Don't do things to me I don't want to do." she said. "And I'm not trying to be heartless. I'm trying to be strong. Do you know how much pain I'm going through?"
