Setsuko still looked a bit confused, but she shrugged it off. "Wanna see who can hold their breath the longest?" She asked.

"Sure," Rue said. Maybe she could win this....she could breathe in realy thin air, so why not hold her breath longer than normal? If only she was like Aunt Angel, or Max. They could breathe under water perfectly.

Setsuko wasn't so sure if she could win; Rue looked pretty confident. But oh well, even if she didn't, she had still won the splash fight. "Ok. 1....2........3!" She took a deep breath and submerged herself completely.

Rue followed suit, dunking her head underwater and staying completely still. She opened her brown eyes, the underwater world surprisingly clear.

Setsuko opened her unique eyes, gazing around the inside of the lake. The view was a bit like looking through a kaleidoscope; everything seemed to be made up of fuzzy hexagons. She turned her head slightly in order to see other parts of the lake. As she did, her beige hair swept in front her her eyes, moving slowly in the calm current. Setsuko brushed it away lightly.

Rue saw Setsuko's moment, and thought, That's gonna use up some of her oxygen. She didn't move except for the current that made her drift slightly. So far she felt no need to breathe in.

Suddenly a flash of blue sped past Setsuko. Her eyes widened as it passed, turning to watch it go. It was a sliver...a dream, perhaps? She had felt cold heat radiating off it ("Cold heat? Is that possible?" She thought), and she was surprised at how clear it had been. She quickly swam towards the surface, taking rapid breaths. She glanced in the way it had headed. She had been right...it seemed to be going to the Caverns of Life. She stared after it, lost in thought.

Rue, forgetting the competition, swam up after Setsuko. She had only seen a slight glimmer of blue, her gaze had wandered away when it streaked by. "What was that? A dream?" she asked.

((Oxymoron....XD Cold heat....))

"I think so." Setsuko murmured softly, eyes narrowing slightly.

"You think? What else could it have been?" RUe asked.

"I don't know. But it certainly looked clearer than the slivers we saw in that River of Dreams."

Rue didn't think of that as to strange, but apparently Setsuko had. "I wonder why....do you think it could've been your dream?" she asked.

"No," Setsuko answered slowly. "I think whosoever dream that was could still be asleep. Something tells me that dreams come here as soon as they are over. Therefore, mine would have been down here early this morning. Yours too, for that matter," She added.

"Oka," Rue shrugged. "Just wondering."

Setsuko shook her head to clear it, trying not to think of the dreams and confusion that seemed to encircle this world. "Well, maybe we've had enough swimming for today," She suggested, paddling towards the lakeshore. Jaci followed, large paws working like flippers.
