On topic: Toby, I know that as a pup you were a big Balto fan, but when did you first hear the story of him, and what was it about the story that really captured your imagination?

Toby: That's up tp ypu. Just be careful not to roll on them.


Toby: That's a good question. The truth is, I wish I could remember. I know part of it was the simple fascination kids tend to have with heroes of any kind. It happens with humans too, running around wearing police hats and stuff like that. But beyond that, I think that hearing about Balto gave me a sense of big things, exciting things, things that happened before I was born. It was like when Charlie listens to stories about that King Arthur guy, and the next day h's swinging icicles around. Basically, it was something big and exciting. And as a pup, I wanted in on it.

*pulls out a chew toy with treats inside and throws it over to the pups* Try getting them to bite something a little more interesting than noses.

Terry: How did you meet Yukon?
Toby: Does Charlie find the time to play with you often, or does he have other friends that reduce your time together?
Rex: What was the most dangerous thing Toby ever did as a pup?
DT: Are you going to write another story staring Pete and Trixie?
Arrow: How did your original parents treat you?

Must...get...puppies...distracted...*crawls towards Toby.* Aha! *grabs stuffed chew-toy* Thanks Scout. HEY! Toby. CATCH*Throws treats at Toby and Luna*

Luna and Toby: Did you ever meet/see each other before Toby head-butted you?

Terry: Alicia wanted to be a husky breeder, so she bought me and then she bought Yukon. How he and I actually became mates... that's a bit of a longer story.


Toby: Well, sometimes he plays with other friends. He definitely made a lot more after his legs started working. But I can always come along when I want to. It's just that not much happens when I do.


Rex: Hmm, that's going to take some time.
Toby: Would you mind not answering...?
Rex: (smirking) I would have to say it was the time he tried to duplicate some of Balto's famous acrobatics out on the roof.
Terry: [looking grim] Oh, I remember that one. He wanted to slide down the roof when it was covered with ice, ride a propped-up board over to another roof, then slide from that one to an obstacle course of boxes.
Toby: It's not like I really did it.
Rex: That's true; I managed to poke my head out the window and grab you.


Dragon Tamer: Quite possibly. I've been juggling ideas concerning Toby and Luna's pups for now, though.


Arrow: Mostly they ignored me. They got wrapped up in stuff; first finding food, then Groven's whole rebellion thing. They said they wanted to make life better for me, but really, I think they just wanted to make me grow up faster so I'd get out of their fur.


Luna: [dodges] Nope, never saw him before.
Toby: Nope. Never happened.

Hm that answer came almost too quick Oh, well.*Gets up from the floor aned takes a seat*

All parents: Do you still find the time to take each other out of the house in the evening without little ones? And if so, where do you go?

Toby: [winks at Luna That should keep them guessing.
Luna: [smirks] Okay, Toby, we had our joke. But the truth, Silwer, is no. That little collision was our first contact - in more ways than one. I mean we might have seen each other passing on the street or whatever, but I think I would have remembered him.
Toby: Gee, Luna, I never knew you felt that way that far back.
Luna: I always stop to watch a maniac in action.
Toby: Oh.


Terry: Well, obviously Rex and I never had that many dates, but he takes me out now and then. Most of our dates, if you want to call them that, were time spent at home (sometimes my house, usually his) just getting to know each other. And he usually takes me somewhere for our anniversary, just to make it special.

Toby: I take Luna somewhere at least once a week or every other week, as things allow. Sometimes the boiler room, sometimes out to see the lights (the pups usually tag along on that), sometimes the docks... you get the basic idea. Arrow's a big help with making sure we have free time.
Caspar: And me! And me!
Luna: (laughing) Yes, you too. You've taken to the whole leader thing like a bird to water.
Caspar: Water? Don't birds usually stick to the air?
Luna: You never saw old Uncle Boris try to fly, did you?
Toby: I remember. Didn't he once have his head stuck in a tree for three hours?
Luna: Two-and-a-half, but who's counting?

Copper: Taya and I got lucky. We live in the same house, so we get to be alone just about all the time since our pups left. But we still go out for anniversaries and such.
Taya: Speaking of anniversaries...
Copper: Tell me I didn't.
Taya: Okay, you didn't remember.
Copper: Shoot.

Thats good to hear^^ a growing family shouldnt get too much in the way of alone time with your chosen one. And seriously? two and a half hours? I guess Balto had a field day with that one

Luna: Any word from your aunt Aleu? Been a while since word came from that side of the tundra.

Luna again: Have there been any episodes of you or Toby running around town looking for the pups after they decided to take a midnight adventure? Kinda like what I guess Toby did once or twice during his childhood...

Toby(and Luna if she still have breath left )
How did you feel the first morning after your pups were born. The minute you woke up.

Luna: (laughs) Yes he did. We all got a kick out of that one when we heard it. Only, Balto wasn't the one who told us. Boris made him swear not to tell anyone...
[Kodi looks guilty]


Luna: She and her pack move around with the herds, but we keep in touch either by howls, or more rarely by visits. Arrow seems to like visiting them.
Dragon Tamer: Not to give anything away, but there will be a story involving them later on as things progress. Now exactly what that story will tell... Well, why give out details?


Luna: I think Toby did that once or twice.
Rex: I believe it was twice. We generally saw it coming, though.
Terry: Yes, he never was that good at hiding what was on his mind.
Luna: But as far as our pups go, they've usually been pretty well behaved in that department.


Luna: I felt a lot of things: tired, a bit sore, but mostly glad. Glad that I had made it through, glad that the worst of it was over, but mostly glad to, for the second time, be a Mom. And then I felt Toby there, and I saw Arrow curled up by the other pups, and I just felt so... complete, you know? Like everything I had ever wished for had finally come true.
Toby: The night had been so hectic, my head was a bit foggy when I woke up. But when I woke up with my head on Luna and the pups right under my nose, it all came back in a rush. And then, well, how can I describe it? The fact that it was over, that somehow it had come out alright... it was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas.

I just came back from camping up in the mountains here, fantastic view. So it made me wonder. Do any of you guys take the time to spend a day/night or two up in the mountains just to enjoy the scenery?

lol No harm done. And since it's here anyway, let's go with it.


Toby: Not much. Hiking, sure, but camping as in sleeping out? Not really. It gets warm enough to do it in summer sometimes; warm enough for me to do it, anyway [glances at Luna]. But even if it's warm enough, I don't do it a whole lot because of Charlie. Of course there was that one time when Charlie was sleeping over at his friend's house, so I went up to the bluff with Luna and camped out.
Luna: Oh, I remember that.
Toby: Yeah, it was an awesome sunset.

Oh, thats right. With your thin fur, how do you spend the winters Toby? Are you outside much, or do you do like your father and only venture outside when necesery?

And in that relation, how does the pups take the cold? Do they have any thicker fur from Luna or is it like Tobys?
