Riley flickered her gray ears slightly. The australian shepherd opened her dulling brown eyes, hued with orange. The female saw Tanga. She silently thought this was good, great. A tiny hope that maybe she really wouldn't die entered her head. After looking at Tanga for a few minutes this hope quickly vanished. It seemed Riley was going to die no matter what. Even though her friend had found her. At least...Riley thought, that a pup didn't have to find her. The muti-colored dog tried to move her maw. She licked her maw, opening and shutting it. "Ta...nga." Riley muttered. The effort of talking caused Riley to start coughing horribly. Blood seeped from her mouth and was splattered on her legs when she coughed. Riley breathed heavily. "Tanga." She said again. "I'm dying." She whined, she didn't want to die. She thought she was brave, but not right now. It would have been easier to die with out her friend watching. If only riley had fought Percy better...if she had been stronger and smarter. Her pride had kept her from telling Nuka to have another dog fight with her. The shame of having help to fight a large gaurd dog seemed dim compared to the shame of dying. "Tell Dodger, that I always loved him. Tell Rocky and Prima I'm sorry. Let Nuka know I was glad to give my life. You were my best friend Tanga." Riley's cheeks were wet and dark with tears.

Another thought crossed Tanga’s mind What if that dog who fought with Riley went to find a vet changed his mind-no he tried to kill her he wouldn’t go for help.
Tanga whined when Riley choked, he hated seeing her friend; or any good person or animal for that mater in pain.
She looked around in hope of seeing a vet suddenly appear Don’t be stupid Tanga there are no vets around. she told herself.
“I promise I will tell Dodger that you always loved him,” She sniffed
“And Prima and Rocky that your sorry.” She gulped.
“And ill tell Nuka that you were glad to give your life.” Tang a wined.
“Thanks for being my friend” She put her paw gently on Tanga’s.
“Friends forever even after death” Tanga said with tears still running down her face.

Cream's sides heaved in and out as she slept. her fur Soft and Shifted all over.

Quin mewed to the male next to Cream who wasn't that nice. His claws reaching for her, Quin Hissed at him and he quickly ran to the other side. her face sad that cream wasn't beside her for her to protect easyer.

Tanner slowly Drifted to sleep "Wake me when their here, alright?" He said to the others. he closed his eyes slightly and Layed down waiting for a answer

“I’ll wake you when its time Tanner” Onyx promised, “but Nero said three pups are going to come through the window, they will be running on the metal roves of the cages you will probably hear!” The big black Alsatian went on to tell the husky pup.

“That song you sung to Logen really suits him Aleu! Suki said the big, sad eyed, cream coloured Sheepdog smiling at the pretty wolfdog.

“Thanks Suki I’ll sing it again” Aleu replied she sang ‘Sound bugle Now’ to Logen lying in the basket.

halfblack looked at the dog "hi my name is halfblack" she smiled at the dog "what's your name i will have to go in a few minutes" she looked at him closely but he was shaded by the dark.

black looked around but he did not see halfblack probaliy in a mood he thought she was alway's geting into mood's.

Konrad stood alone in the small dark room the humans had pushed him into hours ago; he had slept for a while but now he was wide awake. He could hear dogs outside and humans shouting,what’s that commotion going on out there? he thought maybe I should go and have a look-I cold jump through that window.
Suddenly a dark shape came flying through the window landing right in front of him. Konrad stepped back in surprise. He could tell by the smell that she was a wolf and female; in the moonlight cold see that her left side was black and her right side white. The wolf spoke up “what’s your name and so you know I am a wolf and not in a happy mood."
Konrad hadn’t quite recovered from his surprise at sudden arrival of the wolf, before he could answer the wolf spoke again. "Hi my name is Halfblack" she smiled at him "what's your name I will have to go in a few minutes"
“Hi Halfblack I’m Konrad and I’m half wolf and half Rottweiler; lets have a bit of light in here there’s a light switch near the door.” He stood on his hind legs and pawed around next to the door “got It” a light went on he turned round just a he remembered he’d broken one of the rules of being a guard dog. Never turn you back on an unknown dog; oops he thought but he forgot everything when he turned round Wow she s beautiful he thought.
“Well half black I’m supposed to be a guard dog, but I don’t want to be a guard dog I wan to be free, make friends and help other dogs-and animals. Especially those poor animals trapped in this horrible laboratory. I was thinking about coming to have a look what are you doing here anyway, what’s happening out there?”

halfblack looked at konrad "well the racket is that a group of rescue dogs including me, my mother and father are trying to rescue the lab animals. hey you know the place you could help i am sure nuka will let you join the group". she suddenly felt pity for him who would like this place she thought no friends, no family and no freedom she would never live here ever. she would help him no matter what "your coming with me konrad" she damanded.

Konrad smiled “of course, I totally forgot-I have an awful memory! A rat told me about the rescue group and the animals in the lab a few hours ago, his name was Nero I think. I don’t know a great deal about this place I was lead straight up a long bare corridor and into this room, but it continues on to the dog room, Nero told me. Is Nuka your leader-your Alpha?” he said remembering the correct name for a leader of a pack of dogs or wolves. “OK I’ll come with you, shall we go then?”

Nero meanwhile had gone back to Nuka, who was over by the shed waiting for Senidy to chase Stinko into the shed. “Nuka I forgot to tell you there’s another dog in a small room along this side if the lab, he’s part wolf part Rottweiler, he’s called Konrad and looks like a wolf with Rottweiler colouring. But thre’s an open window in his room I think he could jump out of it! And yes he’s friendly”
“Also there’s a long corridor from the dog room to the main entrance the keys to the main entrance are in the box with the Dog room key!”

“Black, Shadow several minutes ago Halfblack went down the side of the lab building and jumped through a window.” Toa said “it was that one there” the grey and white pitbull said pointing with a paw.

“That’s the window of the room Konrad is in!” Nero exclaimed “but don’t worry Black, Shadow he wouldn’t harm your daughter, he respects others and he’s part wolf himself!” the rat said.

“I’m sorry Black, Shadow, we should have told you at the time but I thought she was supposed to” said Kau. The English bull terrier looked a bit guilty, sitting on the far side of the fence with Toa, the pups and the other pup guardians.

Stinko was still laughing “Senidy now’s your chance to chase Stinko into the shed!” Nuka said.
“Thanks Nero for the information, Black, Shadow you can check on Halfblack if you wish….

Shadow was not the least bit worried "don't worry she may looked helpless but her bite is deadly" she smiled at Kau and Toa "you made a mistake everyone does, but if you were in my old pack mistakes were not allowed" she then turned to nuka "she can look after herself thank you".

Halfblack smiled "he's my leader or alpha as you put it, come on lets go i can smell humans from a mile away" she then turned and steped gingerly onto the leage and jumped gracfuly down from the leage to the ground "come on will you" she said sweetly.

“Coming!” Konrad quickly turned the light off then leaped up onto the ledge then down onto the ground beside Halfblack, though not as gracefully as she hadhis chain collar jangling; he smiled at her,she’s a beautiful wolf, in looks and mannerismshe thought and knew he had a big crush on her!
The moon was high in the sky illuminating the scene.
“Lets go and meet Nuka then” he said looking over a group of dogs near the shed.

“Yes your right, and thanks shadow” Kau said smiling at the white wolf.

Toa smiled at Shadow too and looked towards the window, oh look Toa said “Here Comes Halfblack now...and another dog!”

“That must be Konrad”, Kau said as the wolfdog leaped down from the window after Halfblack.

“Yes, that him” Nero said.

Wow that pack you were in must have been horribly strict exclaimed Loki the white female German shepherd puppy.

So you ran away? Asked Cale, the black and tan German shepherd Puppy, Loki’s brother.

Shadow looked at Black who was trying to kill a fly, she then turned to the German shepherd pups. "We ran away because we were not allowed to have pups but we broke the rules,. We had halfblack and we were not the alphas of our pack so we ran away" her voice was crispy and full of pain.

Halfblack turned to him I have to get that collar of him or we will be caught she then opened her mouth and lunged towards him and grabbed his collar and pulled it over his head in and threw it into the bushes. "now thats better we would have been caught" she licked his ear "come on" and ran towards Shadow, Black and Nuka "this is my parents Shadow and Black and this is Nuka" pointing towards Nuka "this is Konrad".

Loki nodded “I think you did the right thing running away” Something terrible must have happened, maybe her pack killed the other pups or something, she sounds so sad. Thought the 5 month old pup, she looked meaningfully at Cale.

Cale understood the look don’t ask too many questions“I agree wit my sister Shadow!” Cale said I wonder what she’s upset about maybe the other pups died? He pondered.

Solo had also heard Shadows sad husky tone; being a mind reader he was considering what had happened to her too. I think she lost some of Halfback’s brothers and sisters poor lady it would have been terrible for her, and Black too. But we mustn’t press her for answers shell tell us if she wants too, perhaps shell discuss it with Aleu she is niece after all!

Konrad gasped in surprise when Halfblack took his collar and threw it into the bushes. “Your right about that; thanks” he said and smiled lovingly at her when she licked his ear. He ran over to Nuka with her, maybe she likes me too!he thought excitedly. He was actually fond of his collar I’ll pick it up later he thought,when it’s safe for me to wear it.
"Hi Shadow Black, Nuka, I’ll get the rest of your names later!" The hybrid said

“Hi Konrad and welcome to the rescue group I’m sure you will be a great help!” Nuka said.
He turned to the young wolf “and Halfblack; I’m sorry if I ignored you earlier- I had so much on my mind and there was a lot going on, I certainly didn’t mean to upset you” he said apologetically.
