BaltoSeppala I'm terribly sorry, I misunderstood you before. I thought you meant there should be no violent stories, period. Now I agree with you that there are places for that kind of fanfic and places non-violent fanfic. I'm sorry I misunderstood.

I am aware that! I lose friends because I move I've moved 18 times in my life, and I neve once fought with a friend! I respect what ever they might like! I have friends who hate wolves and everything I care very much about I didn't go YOUR WRONG!, I show my respect I let it fly. Cat I did my best to not to post on this anymore because I don't like to get pounded. But saying I'm a horrible person? I won't stand by that but wait I'm already one sorry.

Alright time for me to jump onto this band wagon of fun, but first I must ask. BaltoSeppala, Are you trying to state that Fanfictions that go against the original characters personalities should have never been written at all. Or are you simply stating that those types of Fanficiton are to "adult" for Baltosource?

Hey Juuchan, it's all good. I realize there is a call for...that kind of fiction. And like I said, I don't think the writers are bad people (they may be or they may NOT be. But that's not really what I'm focusing on anyway. I know you didn't suggest that I was. I just feel a need to keep repeating that).

But I still stand by the point that Balto Source has been repeatedly touted as a site for everyone...children included. The writers, therefore, should temper themselves. There are other places to post adult fiction...or at least extremely violent or dark fiction. That is, unless what was suggested on page 1 became a reality...that of an adult section (clearly labeled as such, and with some means of verifying the age of the potential reader).

I really like the steps Lonewolf took, as a result of topics like this, in the new sticky thread he put in this board. I think it's a step in the right direction. Maybe not everything that should be there, but clearly he's trying to move things along the way they should be.

After all, no one says that people don't have a right to write this stuff (though I'm disturbed that pre-teens are writing stories with extreme violence, dark, homosexual, or sexually-deviant themes. I suppose it is to be expected from an older crowd, though - the teenagers and adults here). But the membership should be able to expect some DISCIPLINE. Some deference to the family-oriented nature of this site.

No worries, Zerg. If we can all reach a happy medium in this discussion, then we ALL win. Isn't that the best outcome?

Well, my personal view is that there is no excuse for violating the purity of those characters. That is my belief, and it's not going to change.

However (as I have said), I realize the world is what it is today, and that there is a certain calling for such...writing. And that, therefore, the suggestions made by Fox and others on page 1 of this thread make good sense. That an adult section would be a happy medium.

What are you getting at? If I simply left my response at no more than the first paragraph (above), would you have criticized me for being unreasonable and prejudiced? I sense, from the tone of your post, that the only answer that would not evoke a defensive response from you would be "I think that kind of fan fiction is too 'adult' for Balto Source". In fact, that kind of fiction is inappropriate on a site which at least welcomes children (and is visited by some kids as young as 9 years old). And I don't care how politically-incorrect this looks, but fiction with violent, bloody, dark, deviant, sexually-deviant, or homosexual themes does not belong on such a site as this. There are places for that...and while I don't go to them, and find them (personally) to be reprehensible, I can grudgingly acknowledge that there is a call for such material, and that there are places to get it. ADULT sites. ALTERNATIVE sites. And sites which cater to dark themes.

Wow. Cat is right...I am done with this here. I am just going to keep reporting your flaming, rather than play this game. You want the last word? Take it. And I will report every post you make. And it will probably get you banned. Or, you can do the SMART thing, and apologize for causing trouble in this thread, and leave quietly.

Either way, I've reported your post here, and the one in the Saba incest topic. Trying to incite a flame war simply because you don't like what someone says, especially when it's not even directed at you, is pretty foolish.

But Sarafina...I know nothing about that. I don't have any disagreement with you (nor do I recall anything more than a brief and innocent misunderstanding over the condition of your e-mail). I don't know what your situation has to do with this one, or this topic. And I really hope that this one reply will cover it. Because I really didn't want to say ANTHING MORE about Arcturus. I'd rather the mods handle it. And I don't want to be accused of dragging it on by talking about it.

At the risk of drawing this thing on (which I REALLY don't want to), I'll say this. The situation here is that, apparently, Arcturus cannot come to terms with what I've said, and seems to be particularly latching on to some notion that I've called all of the fictions, that I've complained about, "trash" (or some unspecified expletive). And so he's taking a personal issue with it, when my opening statement CLEARLY indicated that I was not attacking any writer or saying that they didn't have the right to write this stuff. And he's used some very disturbing self-pitious and self-abusive tactics as well.

It's hurting two topics, and it's watering things down, and distracting us all from discussing the subjects at hand. And once again, he (like other bullies) is allowed to carry on for pages before anything is done. And, when the person who is being bullied responds (in this case, me), we see frustration from other members, and calls to stop. And the bully gets the last word in...because bullies know that the person they're bullying is usually at a disadvantage. If the person who is being bullied responds thereafter, he or she is held equally accountable, even if just for defending him or herself, rather than just shutting up. He or she is criticized for not letting it go, but rather feeding or dragging out the trouble the BULLY caused. That happens A LOT in these forums!

I've done what I felt is right...I've contacted the mods to make them aware of the situation, and can only hope they won't lock this thread. Instead, they should talk with Arcturus. And, if he refuses to tow the line in accordance with the rules, then he should probably be banned. Because he is CLEARLY flaming.

*SIGH* I HATE, HATE, HATE when my topics are destroyed by bullies who take advantage of the system. I really wanted to have a decent, intellectual discussion with other members which might lead to a win-win situation for EVERYONE. Now I fear that we're going to see this topic locked. Because ONE PERSON couldn't act with dignity and maturity. And Arcturus has succeeded in ruining this topic, and probably got what he wanted...derailing the discussion topic of someone with an opinion he didn't like. Another effective tactic of the bullies who populate this membership.
