Huh? No, I don't. XD

There will always be someone who's better. I totally agree. But we all have our talents.

I wouldn't. No one is better than anyone. That's that

Well, yes I see what you are saying. And yes, there is a best of the best...But I guess what people mean is that, well, everyone has their own style. Well, there are people that draw, err, bad and need imrpovement...Now that I think about it...So saying no one is better than anyone sounds like you basically saying that people don't have to improve?

If you say that, it means that art is not special, and no one can feel proud of being good at it, because "everyone" is good. And just because you want to spare people's feelings, or make them feel better, doesn't you should suck all the merit in accomplishing something in art.

And yes, Blackwolf you are right, if someone says that it is tellin gus that you don't have to improve, since your good no matter how bad you are.

And if you observe, people who aren't very good, or terrible at drawing, actually don't have a style. They are limited in their skill, and so cannot actually develop a style until they get better.

I see I see. ^.^ I'm not sure what my style is, or if I even have a style...
Also, I've seen more and more of the; "Your art is so so awsome! Draw more!" In galleries that need constructive critiques rather than uh, whatever you call it.

Greykitty!!!! She has the most humrous art I've ever encountered! Pamples good, but I have to admit it tires me to see wolves all the time over and over... no offense that is. But then again there are the other very good artists that people dont look at Amber sea, Loz, SRA...
Yes people like Grhaeh Lit have huge tallent and they know it!

But I still love GK's art best next to the others on Deviantart!

~ Dark Lynx/ African Thunder

*edit*But still Pample, Wolf250 and Grey Kitty are the stars of the Balto Source fan arts and always will!*edit*

How about if I answer this:

Well, everyone has their own way of "judging" art. It all depends on how the viewer of the piece looks at it. For example, if someone drew a really . . . sketchy piece of Balto, one person might say that it's too sketchy and it looks like crap, while another may think that the picture's sketchiness shows some meaning to the charcater portrayed in the piece of art.

No one is a perfect artist - remember that. And yes, everyone's style and method of art is different (like mine and Grhaeh Lit's styles, for example: His (is that right?) style is more realistic and beautifully colored, while mine is more MSPaint/GIMP and cartoony. It's all different and each of us have our own fans of our style . . . a style that cannot be duplicated, even if someone else tried to do so.).

Sure, Pample and Greykitty are good artists, but there are a lot of other artists that deserve just as much credit for the hard work that they also put into their work. (even if it doesn't look like it - you might be surprised by the effort that some people put into their work when they're learning a new technique or style . . . or using a new program) Think about it: some artists have had their art praised . . . even if it's nothing more than dots and splatters of paint or something like that. It's bizarre . . . O__o

Umm, I still don't think that answered your question, but as a former art student, I know that for many times, I have been badly critiqued by teachers while other students loved my work. It's normal for this type of thing to happen, but I don't like it when it happens. That's why I don't like calling favorites.

No one has ever started drawing perfectly. It takes time to improve and get better. Unfortunately, not everyone is meant to be an artist (as in a drawing artist), but there are other ways to be an "artist": writing stories, making sculptures, jewelry, etc. and other things.

Yeah. That's my two cents on the subject. Can't we just stop arguing about it and enjoy the fact that Balto fans put their hearts and souls into the pieces of art that they create? Please? Maybe?

Well that is just one reason of how art has turned the wrong way. The reason why an artist's dots can be worth so much is because of the name of the artist. If they are a well-known artist people will eat anything from them. My friend once saw a blank canvas (the artist just bought a canvas and painted nothing on it it was a minimilistic approach) it was worth 4000, abstract my butt.

Your peers may have loved yoru art while your teachers criticized it because as a teacher they have a wider-view point and may see alot of things younger people cannot in art. There is a certain thing you get in your art (if you are an artist) when you mature.

All in all, even when there are different tastes, when you boil it down there is a basic criteria of good art, there is a basic criteria of what is beautiful.

No matter how bad an artists drawing may be,I judge it very fairly, even if the artist himself/herself may not see it as a good drawing,I always give a fair judgment of a drawing. --D.F.

By saying every picture is beautifully done? Sorry, but I have not seen you judge any pictures with fair criteria since I've been at this forum.

Well...I may like 'everybodies' style to a certain extent in a way...Though there is always mistakes in everything...(dur...) There is one type of "artist" I do NOT like...*pressing down HARD on the quote keys...* And that is, people who STEAL....Oh my god...Go ahead, say it people!! I'm annoying! I know, but that's because I HATE when people take other people's drawings and modify them and put them in a gallery where people will see them and BLINDLY say: "Oh, that's good!", "Oh, that's awsome!!!" When the drawing is not their's!!

And using other people's designs, is also stealing, and that bugs me too...And, (I REFUSE to name anybody....><) when some people, though they have permission, color someone's lineart and put it up in a gallery where people will probally give them credit for the WHOLE drawing...

There you have it people...THAT is why I am 'annoying' and leave 'annoying' comments in some people's gallerys....Sorry for going so over board...-_-
