Zasshu and his pack all managed to fend off the rest of Bear's pack, Bear included, who all retreated off into the woods like cowards.

Zasshu then limped around, checking that all of his pack members were safe, smiling relievedly to find that some had only minor injuries but were all ok. Zasshu then limped sorely up to Aspen and Cheyanne, and he sighed relieved and smiled when he found that both sisters were alright as well. He gave them both a happy, caring smile.

"I knew we could do it." Zasshu said hoarsely, between short pants, his body shaking ever so slightly. "Aspen... Cheyanne... you both... did... w-well......." Zasshu then suddenly collapsed into a small puddle of water left over from a slight rain shower that had occurred last night, his head lulling limply to the side in the shallow water, eyes closed, his arms legs and tail all spread out unevenly.

Zasshu had just passed out from loss of blood.The rival pack's alpha male, Bear, had done a number on Zasshu during their one-one-one fight. Zasshu was bleeding heavily from his scruff, his neck, his left side, his right forearm, and a bit from his head. The small rain puddle then began to turn a shade of red as Zasshu's blood mixed with the water.

Cheyanne ran over to Zasshu. She licked His forearm, Scruff, neck, his side and his head. She cried for a while. Then stopped. She managed to stop to bleeding, at least to where he wouldn't bleed heavily. "Zasshu, please. Please don't leave me. You, you.... you , you can't leave me.

"Cheyanne said rubbing her nose on his throat as she layed down beside him. She was still crying but not as hard, she could still feel him breathing. As though he just passed out, much like her sister. She hoped he wouldn't die from loss of blood, but her wishes were slim at the moment. Aspen sat by her sister and cried a sallow tear.

Within a few moments, Zasshu soon stirs, slowly opening his eyes and slightly lifting his head out of the water and coughing loudly a few times. When he finally manages to catch his breath and begins breathing normally again, he feels something warm laying against him, then looks over slightly to see Cheyanne curled up against him, sobbing softly and nuzzling his neck.

"Chey... a-anne...?" Zasshu said weakly, barely above a whisper.

Cheyanne shot her eyes open, and looked upon Zasshu. She smiled. "Zasshu! You're ok!" Cheyanne said nuzzling him close. Aspen jumped up and howled. The rest of the pack joined in, since they were howling earlier when they thought he passed. Cheyenne's tail curled with happiness.

Zasshu smiled weakly, nuzzling Cheyanne back tenderly and licking her tears away lovingly.

"Of course I'm okay, my Cheyanne." Zasshu purred weakly. "I would never leave you."

Cheyanne smiled and licked his cheek. "Good to know" Cheyanne chuckled as she stood up, helping Zasshu up.

"Well done, my brothers." Zasshu says to all of his pack, struggling to keep standing, his limbs shaking as he tried to keep himself upright in his current injured state. He tried taking a few steps forward, wobbling weakly in zigzags, but doesn't get very far before his limbs gave out on him, making him collapse once again. He winced in pain as the dirt of the ground gathered into his still somewhat fresh wounds, but still tried to stand again, his limbs trembling fiercely as he tried to stand, but his limbs yet again did not have the strength to hold himself up, and he collapsed a third time. He winced again, this time half in pain and also half in frustration. Then no matter how hard he tried he could not stand up, so Zasshu just layed there limply, panting.

Cheyanne and Aspen, and a few other members of the pack helped him up once more. They stood by his side all the way to the den, every time Zasshu almost fell, Cheyanne and Aspen would quickly prop him up. When they made it up to the den, Cheyanne helped Zasshu walk in. He layed down once he got in the den, Cheyanne layed close to him. She licked the dirt away from his wounds, which gave a little sting for about two or three seconds, then healed. When she licked all the dirt away , it started to get dark, and the pack headed into the den. Hours later in began to sprinkle.(rain lightly)

Cheyanne would wake up, then fall back asleep, she went on like that the whole night. She was keeping and eye out on Zasshu, making sure he was still ok.

In his sleep, Zasshu turned on his side slightly more toward Cheyanne, layed his head over on top of hers gently, and sprawled one of his massive paws over her body slowly. Zasshu purred lovingly and contentedly at the subconscious feeling of his mate pulled tightly up against him while he slept. Eyes still closed, Zasshu then passionately licked Cheyanne across a tender spot in her neck without him even knowing, still fast asleep.

Cheyanne woke up once more, and smiled. She didn't want to wake up Zasshu, so she fell back to sleep, with a smile still on her face.

By morningtime, Zasshu woke up to see Cheyanne, who was awake, laying up against him tightly with her head nuzzled up under his chin and his own paw wrapped around her. Zasshu's ears flattened nervously, since he had not remembered being this close to her the night before, and then when Cheyanne suddenly looks up at him, Zasshu's eyes widen and he blushes a shade of red, softly gulping...

Cheyanne stared at him for a few seconds, then smiled. "Have fun last night?" She said lifting her head up slightly, chuckling.

Zasshu's blush deepens just a bit.

"Ummm.... why? W-what happened last night?" he asks, confused but with somewhat of an idea.

Cheyanne made a smug face at him. "You don't have to make up anything, I know what happen, I was up and over last night." She said smiling. But her smiled ended after a few minuets, she smelled something un-familiar, an unhappy scent, almost dangerous. "Zasshu, do smell that?" She said standing up. All of a sudden, the scent went away, it almost frighten her, she didn't know what was going on.
