"Why would I?" Kat said, her eyes narrowed to slits. "Anyways, apparently he possesses magical properties, but was cursed by this wizard, like, a thousand years ago. So if you're able to steal just a bit of his gold, he's forced to give you unlimited powers. That means you wouldn't have to work for the Queen any longer, you could be free." Kat said, going off of memory of the story her mother had told her.

"Hhm. What makes you think I want to stop working my job?" Ian remarked with a scoff.

"A guy like you? Come on, who would possibly want to take orders all day!" Kat said, picking up her cards and seeing her excellent hand. "Maybe you like killing people, but I heard that they lock the assassins up in these cold, dark cells. Wouldn't you just...Kill for freedom?" She asked.

"You've heard about me, huh?" Ian hummed, picking up his own cards, keeping a straight face the entire game.

"The villagers are dead terrified of you." Kat said, moving her cards around. "Royal Flush." She said, laying her cards down.
"Besides, it's not like I can't pick up a few hints. You don't try to kill me until you've earned a bit of my trust, it's a game. And you're bored." Kat said, giving him a dangerous look.

Ian lay down his own cards, face down.
"Fold." He said gruffly. "They have a right to be afraid of me, I am after all, the best assassin, and killer in the entire village."

Kat smiled, winning the game making her grin. "Well, yeah. I'm terrified of you." She said simply, "Everyone is, and that's a good reason to be scared." She said.

"Mh." Ian hummed, standing stiffly. "So..You wanted to tell me a story. And you think that would save your life?" He wondered sarcastically aloud.

Kat shrugged, "Wouldn't you want to find the dragon? I know where it is. But I won't tell you. So if you wanted to find it, you'd have to use me. Now, I wouldn't be much help if I were dead, would I?" Kat asked as she gathered her things lazily and heaved her satchel over her shoulder.

"A dragon." Ian repeated, his voice dead-panned. "Well..I suppose it wouldn't hurt to..find it." He mused, looking up at the sky. "Of course I could always kill you once we find it."

"If you want, but I don't see why you'd need to. After being freed from the Queen an' all." Kat said casually, standing and stretching out her arms.

"Well, if i couldn't finish the job that may be a dent in my reputation now, wouldn't it?" Ian huffed, turning.

Kat flipped her palms up in a submissive act, "Fine, do whatever you want then. But I WILL help you find all that power. That must count for something." She said matter-of-factly. Kat began walking, heading towards Dublin, Ireland. It'd be a 2 week walk, and then they'd have to scale a mountain, that'd give Kat enough time to think of another plan when the dragon turned out to be nothing more than a myth.

Ian sighed, and followed Kat.
"I do believe I should lead the way, considering there are over a-hundred traps just waiting to be sprung, and i know where they are hidden." He pointed out.

Kat frowned, but nodded. "Okay, we're heading North. And at every fork in the road, you have to listen to me." She said, stepping behind the man and sighing.
"I don't even know your name, Mr. Assassin." Kat said, humored at her small joke.
