Sergei smiled, and turned towards Amali properly.

- No, I'll wait for you, he said with a gentle smile on his face. He was in no hurry, he knew Amali was tired and couldn't go as fast as he could.

Amali smiled gratefully at him. "Thanks, for everything Sergei." she whispered.

Sergei smiled, with a bit shy look on his face.

- No problem. Uhm.. we should be there in a few minutes, he then said as he walked onwards.

(yeah, I was thinking the same thing and I decided to give Amali a little brother who dies in the fire)

"Sure." Amali shrugged, following. She looked at Sergei and the look on his face made a shiver go down her spine (in a good way). She had seen that look on her brother when he was about to do something crazy. "Did I tell you how much you remind me of my brother?" she asked him.

(Haha great minds think alike! Oh a brother? Cool!)

Sergei stopped, raising his eyebrows and looked at Amali, with a bit confused look on his face. She never mentioned having a brother before, and he wondered if she had lost him too.

- You.. have a brother? he then asked, with a bit careful voice.

(but pity he dies )

Amali's eyes began watering at the thought of her younger brother. She felt a lump in her throat as she put her head down and took her lip between her teeth. "He...he was just a teenager." she blurted out, feeling hot in her face as tears streamed down her face. "I tried to save him, but he was just too far away."

(Yeah, it is a pity Couldn't he have survived? Then be reunited with Amali?)

Sergei felt a small amount of guilt and remorse, he maybe shouldn't have brought it up, but then again how could he have known. He lowered his head in shame, and then looked at Amali.

- Amali, I'm... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked, he then said.

(you mean like her long lost brother?)

"It's okay, Sergei." she said, blinking away her tears. "My mother used to always tell me that the ones you love are always with you, even if you can't see them."

(Yeah, something like that )

Sergei lowered his ears against his neck, when Amali mentioned her mother he remembered how he had been separated from his parents and brother when he was a helpless little cub, and thus never got to know them.

- Yeah... at least you got to know your mother, he sighed, and continued to walk forwards.

- Well, we're here now, Sergei said, as he got to a small den.

(sure, and is it possible you have a girl up for him? just asking)

Amali noticed the way he stiffened when she mentioned the word 'mother'. She wondered why he acted like that, but decided not to ask him anything. She merely walked in and looked around.

"You've got a pretty cozy cave here, Sergei." she told him.

(Hmmm... I might just have!)

Sergei glanced a small smile at Amali for complimenting his cave. All though it wasn't big enough for two lions to sleep in, he wanted her to be as comfortable as possible.

- Thanks. It's not much, but it's home, he said, and then added:

- We can't both fit in here, so I'll be sleeping outside and keeping watch.

(cool, i'll first put up a design and if it's alright, then we can decide on a mate for him)

"Watch?" Amali asked. "What for? We can both fir in here. This is much more airier than my old home. That cave was big, but the ceiling walls jutted down and kept scratching at my neck. This is better."

She looked around the cave and saw a ledge nearby. "I'll sleep on the ledge. It's nice."

(Yeah, that sounds good. By the way, I was thinking that when Amali goes to sleep, Sergei goes hunting food for her, he catches an antilope but is then attacked by hyenas, who injure him and steal his kill. Then he returns to Amali in shame, what do you think?)

- No, it's all right, I don't mind sleeping outside. Yeah maybe we would fit in there but then it'd be extremely crowded, and I want you to have a good night sleep, Sergei then replied to Amali with a smile, as he watched her exploring his den.

"All right then, your choice." Amali shrugged. She clearly saw that trying to convince him that both sleeping together would be alright was not going to work. And anyway, the weather was pleasant and so sleeping outside was going to be fine.

- After all, you're my guest, Sergei then said with a smile, and blinked his eye, trying to look charming, but not in the flirting kind of way.

- Okay, you've had a long day. Why don't you make yourself comfortable, and I'll go get us some dinner, he then suggested.
