The problem is that they did'nt think they could. It's been said before that the reason there's no Balto 4 is that the company wasn't convinced they'd make enough of a profit with Wings of Change.
Considering that fact, I think it's pretty obvious that there will never be anything close to an anime for Balto.

That alone is reason enough to be thankful that there will NOT be another sequel. Because, by all that's holy, a Balto anime film would just plain old SUCK. (If I may be so blunt. lol)

And that gives me incentive to open a animation studio eventually. Universal closes, I open. :)

What does that have to do with this topic?

Then, make a Balto 4! There's no copyright law anymore for it, I think.

Err, Balto belongs to Universal, so that would be illegal.

I suggest, if you actually believe that, that you review the following:

The rights can be bought out...but a franchise like Balto will often run into the millions. Sorry this ended up going off-topic, thought I'd just add some spirit to the fact Universal closed a studio that made one of the greatest animated trilogies of my time.

Now back to the anime talk.

Enough Balto 4 talk, people. That's not on topic.

Yes mommy.

I'd like to point out, as a matter of record, that I was not actually encouraging or supporting said off-topic sidebar.

Well, Call of the Wild adapted well to the anime form http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9Px_uowGmY (violent, but nothing that's not described in the book xD)

But Balto as an anime. I can see it now.

Baltosuke the wolfdog has lived a hard life being trained by his wolf father Kotsubarusansama. But Baltosuke wanted to become a sleddog, but his father told him that it would shame the family! Disobeying Kotsubarusansama's orders, Baltosuke goes into the marvelous Nome City where he meets the most beautiful husky girl in all the land, Jennako. They fall in love instantly. Baltosuke learns of a racing battle tournament being held by the evil mayor of Nome City and enters the tournament, where he meets his larger, stronger rival Steelemaru! They fight and Steelemaru deems Baltosuke as a worthy opponent. Then there is a sudden Diphtheria outbreak throughout the city, where people shows signs of turning into zombies, where they maul, eat people, gush blood and guts, and explode! It's terrible! The evil mayor of Nome City refuses to send for help, and even kidnaps Baltosuke's true love Jennako! But Steelemaru ventures off on his own, declining Baltosuke's help. Baltosuke learns that Steelemaru has become lost, so Baltosuke builds an entire army of sled dogs to go after him and save him! Where they meet Kotsubarusansama, who is incredibly disappointed in his foolish son! They fight to the death and there's lots of blood and Baltosuke, through the power of love, defeats his father, and shares a very touching goodbye with his rival Steelemaru! Baltosuke has a long journey back to Nome City and saves the people and becomes a hero, and the evil mayor is defeated and that's the TRUE STORY OF BALTO!

I think this should happen, who agrees with me??

Sounds like a plan.

I think the idea's in the right place, though I don't know if it would be good or not. Even if it were an anime, what could possibly happen that would be super entertaining? I mean, you could always throw his kids in there, but in my opinion, they can only make so many 'episodes' before people start getting bored. 'Sides that, animes usually involve fighting or some sort of gore or exposure (or at least the ones I've seen). Balto, being a kids movie, doesn't entail even blood. So, dunno if it would ever work out.

If it were going to happen, it would have happened by now. You people are discussing this in a vacuum.
