Shade glanced towards Romeo in a 'follow me' expression. With that, he trotted over to the group by the tree and hearing the last few dogs' responses, he realized he had missed Sadie's explanation as to why the trio was here. It didn't matter, though, since Shade knew the entire story. He came up by Sadie's side and whispered to her ear, "Listen, sis, I found a way out." With a wild grin, Shade added a mischievous pair of eyes to match his mysterious expression. After a moment's pause, he continued. Though this time to the crowd. It wasn't exactly in his comfort zone, but Shade just pretended he was only talking to his sister. He let his guard down for a moment to say what he needed to.

"Listen, I've found a way out. Everyone has to follow my plan exactly, though, because if there's a malfunction, we could all get into grave trouble." His expression was serious, moody almost. You could tell he wasn't joking around with this. "Now, here's what we need to do." He looked around from one dog to the other. "I assume we're supposed to go inside soon, yes? Well then, this needs to be quick. The longer we stay, the less chance we have of continuing our mission and the more your chance dwindles of ever getting out of here. What I'll need to do is get up over the fence. If anyone else feels they're agile enough to make it, please join me." Once again, he looked from one dog to another, through the entire crowd.

"Those of us who can make the jump will have to dig from the outside in. Further inside here, the grass is extremely deep." To prove his point, he pawed at the grass, showing it was difficult to even get through to the dirt. "However, since this plot of land was specifically designed to keep dogs in... that means from the outside, it would be easy to get through. See my point?" After a moment's pause, he looked from his sister and back to the crowd. "Now those of you who feel like joining us make your move or stay here. The ones who feel like coming, prepare to witness paradise."

Banshee had listened to Sadie's story through and through, but unlike the others, he hadn't said a word since she finished. He was thinking it over. After a long thought, he decided it seemed like a good idea. Being out on the streets wasn't exactly the best life in the world. Of course, it was always better than dealing with the uncertainty of living in a human household: never sure if your owner would treat you right or suddenly turn on you or be the nicest creature in the world. Even the streets sounded less amazing than paradise though... paradise... even just the word sounded beautiful. The place must be even better.

Banshee eventually decided he didn't care if it existed or not. It was worth finding. If there was indeed a real place called paradise, it sounded better than anything Banshee had ever known before. "I'll come." He went to stand beside Sadie just as Shade began his speech. After he was done. "I can't wait to get out of here! And I've got to admit... that plan sounds a lot better than anything I've ever been able to come up with." At this next part, Banshee somehow became tempted to tuck his tail between his legs. Although he managed to keep himself under control. "I can't make it over the fence... I'm way too bulky."

Cassy: Lets go Ban. She took off for the trees. She was a fast runner but Bandit didn't like running a lot. He looked at her like, 'Are you kidding me!?' and took off after her. Cassy made it to the trees but Bandit dragged his legs behind him. Bandit growled at Cassy.

Bandit: Growls at Cassy then stands up panting harder. Never do that again. He said as he slowly regained his breath he walked around investigate the new land. He soon found a small town, he and Cassy walked around. Bandit's paws hurt him so much because of all the running. He hid behind a building and licked his paws. Cassy right beside him.

Though everyone was beginning to get worked up with excitement, Sable grew quiet. She didn't understand the big deal of this 'paradise'. To her it seemed to be some made-up idea because all the dogs she was surrounded either had poor experiences with humans or were strays their whole lives. She was the duck among the geese - her experience with humans, though not as great as it could've been, was better than what these dogs had all experienced. And she had only known life with a human touch. She could never... she never imagined being a stray. She hoped to find a new home, new humans, and a new happy life. The streets... they were not happy. Even if she was traveling with a pack, they were not happy. They were just as harsh and cruel as humans could be.

Not wanting to speak up about opting out, Sable slowly disconnected herself from the group of dogs, and began to trot away, her head sunken in misery. She felt bad about it. Even though they all were put together and never had forged any friendships prior to this, she liked them all. But she just could not see herself as a stray. She was not bred to be a stray. Her purpose in life, and the reason why she was born, was to be someone's pet and make them happy. What would her life be if she couldn't fulfill her purpose?

Bandit:
He looked over at Cassy. He didn't want to leave his sister behind but he wanted her to stay here and safe. He couldn't tell his sister no so they walked until the met with another group of dogs. 'The siblings'. Bandit looked at each one and then at Cassy. He thought he knew Romeo from somewhere but he didn't speak.

He sat down. He was tired of avoiding every dog in the world and not seeking to make any friends. This time was different. The plot of his life had changed drastically over the years. He smiled at Cassy and she rubbed her head against his shoulder. Cassy kept her head on his shoulder and just looked at the dogs.

Cassy:
She wanted to speak and it overwhelmed her. Hi, I'm Cassy and this is my brother Bandit. She smiled and wagged her tail. She looked at Bandit with a, 'Well you were thinking about saying it.' look. She smiled back at the dogs and submitted. It was in her instincts telling her to submit in the presence of a male.

Ace smiled at the newcomer's plan. It was clear that they had thought about it really well, it was a nice plan and though the difficulty of the execcution was high and chalenging, on paper it sounded like a piece of cake. He then spotted Sable walking away from the group, she obviously had no intentions of leaving humans behind, but Ace knew there was something better for all of them out there, far away from owners, dog catchers and all the men and women. His smiled disappeared. He stared at Sable with a sad expression in his eyes. He then turned to the newcomers again and since the new dog was talking to the group he decided to use that chance to talk to Sadie's brother one on one. "Listen uhmm...dude.." He still hadn't heard Sadie's brother name so he didn't know how to call him. "I want to go with you and I could help you dig our way out, but I have a long history with the dog catcher, if he desn't see me here he'll know something's wrong, so I'll wait for you,ok?" That said, he turned around and followed Sable, not really waiting for the newcomer to answer him or paying attention to what the other new dog was saying, he felt bad for walking out on them like that but he'd be back to catch up. He wanted all the dogs to go to paradise, and Sable's case was too sad for him to give her up that easily. He didn't want any dog to suffer because of humans, and he was sure that sooner or later Sable would return to the pound if she kept her affection towards humans.

Bandit:
He yawned and panted. He sat down and Cassy sat with him. Some times Bandit wondered why he always let his sister be so close. He didn't care at times and sometimes it seemed like she suffocated him. Bandit looked around and finally spoke. Is this a pack of just a group of friends hanging out?

Bandit looked around again and again to see which dog would speak first. He looked at Cassy and she shrugged. Bandit got up and walked to a tree. He lied down in the cool shade and just watched others walk around and talk. He soon started to groom himself and get the foul smell of humans off him. He had more of a earth tone smell after a while.

Shade nodded towards Banshee. "That's alright. We'll see if any others can try their luck..." He was suddenly spoken to by another dog. If his ears had picked it up correctly, earlier, the dog's name was Ace. "It's Shade, by the way," He said as Ace walked away, and realized that Sable had suddenly veered from the rest of the dogs. Perhaps because of her love for humans. Honestly, Shade had never had an experience with humans. Or none that was so traumatic. None that were happy, either. He just didn't really associate. Perioud.

Turning to the fence again, he made a final statement. "Anyone who thinks they can make it, follow my lead. And quick, too." Backing up nearly against the wall of the pound, Shade found himself adjacent to the door they had all come out from. Turning quickly to see inside it, he gathered that the humans were all at desks, not paying attention and making no note of where the dogs were at what times or wherever. To sum it up, they were clueless. Shade grasped this opportunity. Standing completely still, he took a few deep breaths. He made sure his breathing was quick, yet steady at the same time, and he also managed to keep himself entirely calm. Using this relaxed but revved up state, he backed himself up to the wall even further, putting both of his hind paws flat against it.

With a jolt, Shade sent himself surging through the grass, running fast enough to tear out his heart. His breath stayed steady and quick, and his pace was evenly matched. When he came about three yards of the fence, he leaped into the air. The adrenaline pumping through his veins was incredible. It made him feel alive. The momentum from his run had catapulted him into the atmosphere, clearing nearly the entire fence. He landed right on the top, gripping it with claws that were smooth yet sharp to hold on with. In one quick movement, he jumped again over the top, landing swiftly on the ground. The way he moved his legs and his whole body would have amazed even the dullest dog, though Shade was never one to show off. These stunts were usually only performed when absolutely necessary. Otherwise, it was when he was alone, for practice and other personal reasons.

He stood at the other side of the fence, keeping an entirely even expression, watching the others on the other side. He briefly turned to look behind him, sniffing the air to make sure the streets were somewhere nearby. They were. With that, he began to dig. Mashing his paws into the dirt, he scratched and ripped at the grass, making it through to the soil. He was putting his whole upper body into it, dragging the severed ground from under to behind him.

Sable could hear footsteps coming from behind her, and she turned her head to see who was walking behind her. She was very surprised to see that Ace, who she knew had a bad experience with humans, was following after her. To her, she thought he would've definitely been one of the ones to stay behind and eagerly hear the plan about escaping. "Oh, hi Ace," she said half-cheerfully, recalling his name from when he introduced himself to the newcomers. She came to a halt and faced him, her eyes filled with both sadness and curiosity. Sad because this was the last time she would be seeing the dogs, and curiosity as to why he followed after her. "What're you doing here? I thought you were going to escape with everyone else?"

Ace came to a stop as soon as Sable did, it was easy to see the sadness in her eyes. He nodded."Yes, of course I am...but I want you to come with us to paradise..." He stopped for a minute to think about what he could say to convince her, he knew it wouldn't be easy."I know how you feel about humans, but there is something bigger and greater for all of us out there and these newcomers may be able to lead us there, don't you see? Don't you feel it? I mean...what are you going to do if your next owner drops you here again...or if you don't get picked by another human. You can't stay here forever, this isn't life...I know about that, trust me." The seriousness of his expression was bigger than ever."You can stay here, no one can force you to leave, but if you come with us you could find a better place than this pound and even this city...please just think about it..."

"I appreciate the concern," said Sable with a small smile. "But I'm not sure about this paradise thing. What if it's not as great as it was made out to be? I don't know about it. And I don't think I'm the right type to be going on that little adventure." Her smile faded from her face as she sadly looked down at the ground. "I'm not a street dog. All my life I've lived within human company. It's in my blood to be with a human... I was bred for that purpose. My former owner wanted a show dog and went to her friend's who was a breeder. I was one of the pups for adoption. And she took me. She took me in and raised me. True, I was returned here, but still she took care of me. She was still my owner. Even though she took me here, I don't have any hard feelings for her. But I do believe that I'll find someone, a human, that's better than her.

"I like you guys a lot. I haven't made many friends here at the shelter, and even though I don't really know all of you, I still like all of you just the same. It's as if we were all good friends all our lives." Sable's voice began cracking as she continued. "I don't want to leave you guys. I do kind of wish I could go with you all to paradise. But... I'm just a pet. I'm not strong enough to be living in the streets."

Bandit:
He looked around. He didn't know the feeling to well but his instincts told him to get up and turn around. He did so and saw a small girl in a tattered cloak and worn out shoes. He walked up to her and she slipped a weaved collar over his neck. He started to growl but she slowly wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself onto his back.

Bandit didn't like it but he had to keep her warm and safe. He walked back and began to groom her like she was one of the other dogs. He saw her not as a orphan but as a human with troubles. He was actually liking the idea of caring for her.

Ace was out of words. He couldn't believe what Sable was saying, and although she seemed decided not to go, he wasn't going to give up just yet. "Well but what if paradise is even better than we thought? And what makes you think that a human is to decide what you should be? You don't have to depend on any human." He lowered his head to in order to have Sable look directly to his eyes. "You won't be alone in this, we will all take care of each other. This quest won't be easy, that's completely true, yes, but the reward is more than worth it. Think about it, if you stay here dogs will come and go, your friends will only be here for a little while but if you come with us I promise you won't get only friends...you'll win a family and that is just priceless..." He took a moment before going on, he wanted to take a close look at Sable's expressions."And if you think you are nothing but a pet then you couldn't be any further from the truth. You are so much more than a pet, I can see that...and so should you..."

Cassy:
She walked around just looking at everything. She knew she was free and she started to run around for fun. She accidentally slammed into Ace and she picked her self up off the ground. She was stronger then what everyone had thought. I'm a so sorry about that! She helped him up quickly. She looked at him with a 'sorry' expression on her face. She looked at him. You okay? I'm so sorry about that. She looked at Bandit who was helping the little girl. She looked around and realized they were at the pound. She backed away then ran off. She grabbed Bandit and they ran back to the siblings. They decided to stay with them. The kid still following Bandit.

Sable felt even more miserable as Ace continued to try and talk her into the idea of going. She had to admit he was right. If she did stay, she would have no friends-for-life. She could make friends, sure, but they would be just as temporary as the next. She planted her rump onto the ground, and began whining a bit, mimicking a human crying. "But... but... What if I-I can't do it?" she whined. "What i-if I'm n-not strong enough?" She was worried. Would she really leave behind the only life she had ever known? The thought scared her. If she went with them, she would no longer be bound to the human society she grew up in. She would be a stray, a rebel who knows no boundaries. Could she really accept that title?

Bandit: He lied down again and the little girl lied down with him. She kept warm in his thick soft fur. Bandit let her sleep against his stomach while he slept as well. He knew that if she was going to be adopted he would have to go with her. He loved this little girl and would hurt anyone who tried to take her away from him.
