I don't hate people who don't like Balto. Why should I? Of course I hate my classmates for calling me names because that I like Balto. Now they call me "Balto from Mexico".

Truth be told, I've never met someone in real life who actually disliked the Balto film (first one, most don't know the sequels exist).

Most I've talked to about it said "Oh yeah, that was a great movie!"

In fact, the only negative criticisms I've seen for the film have been "professional" reviewers online.

Trust me, the professionals couldn't be nearly as bad as the ameteurs around here.

Around here, as in, on this website? Baffles me why people would willingly visit a website devoted to a character and the subsequent films to berate said character and films.

Are they actual complaints, or people nitpicking for nitpicking's sake?

^ the site's for TLK as well, you know. At least, it was originally. Not everyone here are here for Balto because not everyone likes the films. Not everyone has to like the films. You can't judge people's personal tastes. Some people just don't like or don't care for Balto. Deal with it.

I didn't mean to come across as harsh or close minded regarding people's opinions, I apologize if it seemed that way!

I believe that the animation source website has a multitude of forums for a bunch of different properties (I think it has a section for "All Dogs.." too, I still need to check out) all connected by the one umbrella, but going specifically to the Balto section to talk down about it seems needless.

Like going to a Halo (video game) convention, just to tell people how much you hate it.

What you said here and after more or less sums it up. There are people on here who even complain about the original movie, never mind the sequels (and I will admit, while I would be hard-pressed to find fault in the first movie apart from the historical inaccuracy, I can easily name things I disliked about both sequels). I've asked them outright, "If you don't like the movie, why are you here?" and they tell me straight-out that's it's because they feel like being here. They have said that, I kid you not.

The longer I hang around here, the more distant the words "rational" and "people" seem to become.

Granted it's annoying and uncalled for when members will drift over to sections of movies they don't even like just to state
that they don't like them, but that's just going to create more posts of the like if you react to them. Should really ignore them.
We're still a good people here, so don't go giving new members the wrong idea.

I do get pissed that people dislike the movie but, people have the right to dislike though. I keep the anger inside and try to forget about it.

@ Roi: Speaking of those titles, why were those ones chosen to have a place on the Animation Source forums? Webmaster preferences? The only common link I can find is that they have (except for maybe Anastasia; haven't seen it) animals as important or centralized characters.

And I'm not just saying that cause I'm a Anastasia Source Image Mod [lawl],
it really is a fantastic movie with amazing animation, story, characters, song, etc.

Well, if you have an idea, there's a topic where you can submit it. Is there a particular movie or series you wanted to see? Personally I think a Redwall Source would be excellent.

Heh, decided to look at our video rental store for Anastasia.

It's there... on VHS.

Might have to check out Netflix on the Xbox 360, see if it's on there. I know that last I checked, Balto was NOT (wasn't even available to add to the DVD queue, nor was Wolf Quest).
