"Ha, I knew it would," said Ace.
"I beg your pardon," said Sarah,"But is Mishka your mate?" she asked Zero.

"... Girlfriend." Zero said, thankful for the dark fur to cover up him blushing.

"Oh, I see," Sarah replied again.
"Hey Zero, if you want to know what that's like so much, I could tell you and Sarah about it if you don't have any other plans." said Ace
"Well, I'm not really doing anything." said Sarah.

"Never been on a plane before and I don't know anybody so I guess I'm not doing anything either." Zero said as he made himself comfortable.

"All right then, I guess I'll tell you about some of the things we do. See all dogs that are used by the military are trained to do something, whether it's to fight, guard, sniff out bombs or other things, dogs are very useful in those areas. Me and several other dogs were either bred or bought for maximum ability in these areas, and were put in a special unit. Unfortunately during a mission something went wrong and all those in the unit were killed, except for me. After that I was sent back stateside to live with some human, until either I went back, or they called me back." Ace said, "And that's when I met you and all the others Zero."

"I see..." Zero said, his stomach doing a back flip. Everyone except Ace died... What were his chances as an amateur?

"Zero, I know what you're thinking," said Ace, "Don't worry, you'll be surrounded by the best of the best, and I got your back. I promise, you'll get back to Mishka in one piece."

"I would say, they push you as hard as possible, no wimp is gonna make it through, that's for sure." Ace said.
