However, if you want to leave it at that, I am satisfied. Because I don't care to see another conflict start over this that will cause further repercussions and involve forum mods and admins. But I stand by what I said nevertheless.

They call it Central park because it's central to everything in the city. And really it's closer than any other option no matter where you are (walking over a bridge or tunnel to NJ or another borough). The reason that would be my plan, is because I'd worry about the bridges and tunnels being too crowded, and I'd worry that because of this they would be targeted as well.
Plus, no matter what bridge or tunnel you walk over (Except maybe the Henry Hudson)... you end up in a pretty bad neighborhood where I wouldn't feel safe anyway. Ah, let me rephrase my question then. What if, the attacked building is between you and Central Park, OR the Police were refraining you from going there? I will take what I said about a plan back, as obviously I've personally never experienced anything like that, although I must say, it will be hard to execute such a plan, especially if you are in the shock of something like 9/11 happening again.

I never said anything anti-American in this topic, my statement was "as anti-American as I can be; I still...". so to the guys in this topic who are constantly making witty comments about me here and on other topics, get a life - and stop twisting my words. I was simply stating that I had been anti-American in the past, and on some issues, I can be. Sorry, I didn't mean anything against you. I was just saying that other people weren't talking about Rebel. I have no problem if you're anti - american on certain subjects. It honestly doesn't bother me as long as you don't say 'oh 9/11 was stupid, they all deserved to die' or something like that, which I'm sure no one will so...

I greatly appreciate it and I would never expect you to have the same feelings towards the attacks since you are so far away and did not experience them first hand like I did. And for a side note, you never offended me, I just tried to make a point was all and I think it was heard ^^

I apologize. to everyone I've offended. /leaves topic Thank you for the apology. Now, given what several of us have said here about what the attacks means to us, and in a larger sense (than just the attacks of the day), you should be able to understand it. Americans are slow to forget an affront. Even when a large portion of our population has leaned far to the left, and our country is greatly crippled by the evil of political correctness (which makes us appear weak to others in the world), we tend to band together and become entrenched when attacked. Especially when our home turf is attacked, which has happened so little in our nation's history. And when such attacks happen, we fall back into an oft-watered down or dormant patriotism...all except the most selfish, anarchic and unpatriotic among us (which is a very small number). And, as Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto said, after the attack upon Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 (which brought the United States into World War II), the United States is the kind of nation which, justifiably, would respond to an attack: "A military man can scarcely pride himself on having 'smitten a sleeping enemy'; it is more a matter of shame, simply, for the one smitten. I would rather you made your appraisal after seeing what the enemy does, since it is certain that, angered and outraged, he will soon launch a determined counterattack." Thank you very much. <3 And Jersey, that makes a lot of sense. you're welcome, and that's a great quote.
