"So... How do you know Charlie Itch? I mean, you seem to be best pals and he seems to leave you in the dust... Pardon the pun." Zero said, thinking about the dusty apartment.

"Interesting history. I think I'm gonna like it here with you two around." Zero said, winking at Itchy good-naturedly.

"Then again, it would be boring without a little unpredictability to spice it up."

"Nah, never been caught." Zero said, eyes misting over as he thought about the family that had adopted him.

The door suddenly slammed open and it was Charlie. "Hey guys, whatta ya know, whatta ya say."

"Well, how many bones did you gamble away?" Itchy said hesitantly nervous about the answer he was going to hear.

"Uhh, I don't want to talk about it" Charlie said rather softly, "So how is our new buddy Z?" said Charlie trying to to change the subject

Just then Itchy rubbed his head knowing that Charlie lost most if not all the bones again.

Zero looked at Charlie a moment before looking back at Itchy. "Whatta ya know, a crazy German Shepherd mix just ran in the door, what I say is 'hi Charlie.'" He said to the smaller dog, grinning.

"So, Charlie how much did you lose?" Itchy asked wanting to know what to say to Sasha.

"So Z how do you like Frisco so far, by the way where are you from?" Asked Charlie ignoring Itchy.

"I've only been to two places Charlie. And I forget where I'm originally from, hither and yon and all that." Zero said, waving a paw absentmindedly. "Also, your best friend Itchy is talking to you."

"Just ignore him, he talks just to hear himself talk." said Charlie jokininly still trying to avoid saying how bad he did.

"Hey, I was talking to you! You shold listen to Zero more often he is very wise." Itchy said raising his voice a little hoping that Charlie would break the news to him.

"You should speak for yourself Itch, you're pretty intelligent yourself." Zero replied, wagging his tail.

"You know what maybe I will." Itchy replied to Zero with a little bit of confidence in his voice.

"Hey, Charlie, you tell me this and you tell me this now! How many bones did you lose today!?" Demanded Itchy pounding his fist on the table.

"Well I kinda, I kinda, I kinda WON, I won, I won, I won, went in with 10 bones came out with 70!" Screamed Charlie prancing around the room.

"Well, where is the bones?" asks Itchy

"Out here I wanted it to be a suprise. Hey Z don't listen to Itch I usually win I almost never lose!" Exclaims Charlie with a grin accross his face.

... Is there a reason I doubt that? Zero thought, moving his head to one side.
