"I know, I rarely ever use it." said Mirai, rising to his feet. "I've only used it a few times, the first time against one of Yapool's monsters. Its based off one of the other Ultra Brother's finishers, the Ultra Dynamite." he looked at Shadow. "That's actuelly not the most destructive thing an Ultra can do, Leo can fire a beam capable of destroying entire planets." he said. "But he's only used it once, to destroy a planet this alien named Commander Black was from, because it was about to crash into Earth and was only used to house Black's pet monsters, all of which Leo had already destroyed."

"So now what do we do?" asked Sonic. "Maybe we should show Mirai to our base."

Sally walked back to the Cyclebike and hopped on. "You mean Knothole?" she asked. They had multiple bases, but Knothole was their most used one.

Sonic nodded. "Yeah, Mirai needs a place to stay while in our universe." he said.

Mirai bowed. "Thank you." he said. "I would be honored...there's probably a Land of Light in this universe as well, perhaps I could try to contact it for reinforcements if needed."

Knuckles jumpped on. "There's still the matter of finding the Chaos Emeralds." he said, Sonic jumping on after him.

Mirai joined them. "Chaos Emeralds? What are those?"

"Chaos Emeralds," started Shadow, "Are gems that contain massive power. But their power reflects differently and depends on who is holding it. For me, if I have only one Chaos Emerald, I can create Chaos Control, which means I can teleport or freeze time."

"But," interrupted Tails, "Sonic has to have all seven Chaos Emeralds before he can turn into Super Sonic."

"I don't know what happens when anyone else gets them though." reported Sally. "They wouldn't work for me, because in Knothole we only had Power Rings before the lake dried up."

"Shadow can turn into Super Shadow as well. Me and Tails can enter a simular state." said Knuckles. "But if Eggman gets them, he can do some pretty nasty things." he said. "Other races have tried to use them for evil as well." he said. "So they can do ether great good or great evil." he said. "And the reason we just don't destroy them is bad things can happen if they're destroyed. Like one time Eggman did something like that and it turned Sonic into a werewolf-like creature and awakened a planet destroying monster named Dark Gaia." he said. "Shadow, don't you have one on you at the moment?"

"When one of us transforms into a superform, we glow golden and can fly, are nearly invincable, all sorts of stuff." said Sonic.

"I see, so they're objects of incredable power for ether good or evil." said Mirai. "Many objects in the various worlds have that kind of ability, the object that keeps my homeplanet in orbit, the Ultra Key, can also fire a blast of energy capable of destroying entire planets."

Shadow glared at Knuckles warily. "Yeah..." he replied. He didn't want to give up the Emerald, since he always had to have one on him for safety purposes.

"But when me or Knuckles turn into Superforms, we aren't gold. Only Sonic is gold, Shadow is more of a white-ish color, Knuckles is green, and I think I turn red or something. I don't know about me, since I don't usually turn Super." commented Tails. "Hey, Espio, what happens to you?"

"You think I know?" snapped Espio. "I never get a chance to fight anything. Vector always has me busy with work, but if you ask me, I think Charmy could make a better boss than him!"

"Do you mind if we just let Mirai see it?" asked Knuckles. "So he can tell what one looks like."

"I see." said Mirai. "When I was protector of the planet Earth, by combining my energies with other Ultras, and even my support team, I could enter stronger forms." he said. "Ultras can combine to form stronger beings, even stronger than the component Ultras put togather." he said. "And I once entered a form like what you discribe, in another universe, where me and my brothers were a TV show." he said.

"A TV show? Sounds pretty cool." said Sonic.

Shadow took out the glowing green Chaos Emerald and sighed as he let it roll into Knuckles' hand.

"You know, we were in a few TV shows ourselves, Sonic." Tails chuckled.

Knuckles showed the Chaos Emerald to Mirai.

Mirai looked at the glowing gem. "Intresting, I'd best not touch it, I'm made of energy, so it may have a strange reaction."

Sonic nodded. "True Tails." he ten heard Mirai. "Wait, you're made of energy?" he said. "Well we've had some weird ones, like Cosmo, who was a plant alien that Tails was in love with...sorry for bringing that up buddy..."

OOC: That was in the current storyarch of Sonic X.

Mirai nodded, watching Knuckles give Shadow his Chaos Emerald back. "Yes, Ultras are made of light." he said. "Thus, we can draw power from many other types of positive energy, even hope." he said. "Suprising but hope, being a part of the spirit, has a great deal of energy, that allowed me and seven other Ultras to enter forms like your Superforms in that otherworld, the hope we instilled in those people. Then we used that power to destroy a god-like being called Kageboshi."

OOC: forms like Mirai is discribing are actuelly called Glitter forms, but they are simular.

Tails' ears drooped when he heard Cosmo's name. He was the one who had to kill her, too. "Aw, it's ok." he said to Sonic. "It was her destiny."

Shadow said nothing as he took back his Emerald.

Espio laughed when he heard about Cosmo. "Vector had tried to set up Tails and Cosmo a few times, but I don't think they needed much help in that area." he laughed.

Tails shot him a dirty look.

"Cosmo's race was attacked by another species called the Metarex." said Sonic. "They were driven to near exstinction but another race that shared their world stayed to fight as the rest fled the planet, one of them named Dark Oak managed to gain control of the Metarex, their plan was to wipe out all non-plant life in the universe and rule but thanks to us, we stopped that plan, suprisingly with Eggman's help." he said. "But Dark Oak planned to self distruct this egg thing he was in and take the galaxy with him but Cosmo, the last of her kind, transformed into a huge tree and held Dark Oak in place so me and Shadow, in Superform, could get launched by Tails into him with a huge cannon and destroy him, it worked...but at the cost of her life."

"But that was her destiny, as Tails said." said Knuckles. "The explosion that destroyed both her and Dark Oak spred seeds of her species throughout the universe, reviving her race and making it safe for all others."

Mirai nodded, understanding completely. "I have lost close friends as well. Most Ultras have at one time or another." he said. "Ultraman Leo, his entire group of human allies were killed by an evil alien named Commander Black and his monsters, Ultraman Jack's human host lost his best friend and the woman he loved to another alien, named Knuckle. I personally lost a friend I made through combat, an alien swordsman named Zamshaa, he took a blow to protect my human friends, and it cost his life." he siad. "While I didn't love Zamshaa as Tails loved this Cosmo, I valued his friendship." he said. "And I know how it feels to see another give their life for you."

As they talked about love and loss, Shadow's mind raced with flashing images of Maria. She was his only friend, and they killed her, because he was illegal. She would never hurt anyone. Shadow covered his face with his hands and forced his eyes shut, not wanting them to open ever again.

Sally looked worriedly at Shadow. "Are you okay?"

Mirai nodded. "Shadow, I can fell your negative energy." he said. "Something is deeply troubling you." he said. "Sensing negative energy is something I learned from Ultrama 80, because...well negative energy can create monsters." he said. "In his time as guardian, some force created monsters with all the negative energy amassed over the course of human history." he said. "80 managed to destroy them or purify the source, causing them to become docil but it wasn't easy." he said. "And Yapool used his massive hatred for the Ultra race to create an imencilly powerful creature...U-Killersaurus."

Sonic blinked. "Wait, does that mean Yapool could take Eggman's hatrid for us and make some kind of monster?" he asked, getting a grim nod from Mirai.
