I have to agree with your last post. I suppose you could do something good with Flash, though I have yet to see that (from any company in fact) => Oh wait. The "Epic Mickey" cinematics are done with Flash, I think. Well then, it may be the first actually...
Disney has not always been a demographics company. It's only since the last decade that it really happened (especially with the "Disney Princesses" brand, the "Winnie the Pooh" brand and pre-schoolers shows, the "teens" shows and such...) The Disney Afternoons shows were aimed at 5-15 years old (according to Jymn), which is pretty large. Though I guess the toys were made for smaller kids.
I'm currently watching some The Emperor's New School episodes, and I have to say it's the most recent TV series from Disney that I like. It's a comedy, it's not very original, and extremely repetitive, but at least it's enjoyable with good characters. But Phineas & Ferb and Kick Buttowski are...urrrrgh. The worst.
I still don't think there were so many people criticizing the DA series even back then, especially considering the Gummi Bear's huge success (both critical and commercial) I only remember as a kid that they were very much enjoyed by all kids and parents seemed to appreciate them too. I think the parents nowadays don't even look what their kids are watching. Just putting them in front of TV for "babysitting".

Honestly, I don't think Phineas and Ferb is that bad of a show. Sure, it's not as good as other DA shows, but it looks a lot more interesting than Kick Buttinski. Because KB is just plain stupid.

Quote: that looks like the stupidest show.. Honestly, i give it 2 weeks before they cancel it. Disney is going down the drain. Sorry sir; the show has been around for about six months and it's been renewed for a second season next year despite having a 0.7 rating. Kick Buttowski the show isn't completely stupid (although there is lots of stupidity in the show, make no mistake); Kick Buttowski the character is stupid and unlikable. This show is becoming like Johnny Test; only Johnny Test is actually pleasing to the eyes in spite of being reckless and downright annoying. As for Disney going down the drain...not really. Disney Television Animation is really the only division whose quality has been going down the drain and Fish Hooks isn't going to help matters at all.

Oh, looks like it's a bad show. What a surprise! http://www.toonzone.net/forums/showthread.php?t=272862The only thing I hope is that, after a few more bad shows like that and low ratings/sales, the Disney TV animation studio gets completly revamped, or at least get runned/checked by people who know how to do things right (like John Lasseter for feature animation) And I'm also glad that Camp Rock 2 is also getting trouble, for the same reasons. http://www.dvdizzy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 366#522366About Phineas & Ferb : the only reason this show is getting decent ratings is because Disney is pushing it like they've never done in the last decade for TV animation AND because it's the only decent show airing on all Disney channels. But the show itself is VERY repetitive and not that good - just OK. Even Emperor's New Groove was much better. I would of course love if they would push forward a revival of the Disney Afternoon (and I mean doing more than just putting them on hours when everyone is sleeping...like making new episodes and promoting them a bit like they do with Phineas), but in fact I'm just asking them to make new *quality* shows. Which means : good story that can appeal to the WHOLE family (not teenagers / high school settings please!!!), good characters style, orchestral soundtrack, good animation.

The unfortunate problem with this is the kiddies lap it up because it's so gloriously appealing to them. So, I doubt it :/ However, I'd really like this to happen. Also, I am sick of teenagers in Disney Channel. First off, the majority of people who watch DC are between the age of 5-10. And they're watching teenagers deal with teenager issues. It's pressurising them to grow up quicker, and it makes me sad to watch. Anyway, back on topic. This hasn't come out yet in the UK, maybe it never will. I'm happy not watching it

Quote: the kiddies lap it up because it's so gloriously appealing to them I'm not so sure about that. The ratings on all the Disney Channel are not THAT good, especially when compared to how animated TV series performed in the 90's (that was partly due to syndication, though) and when compared to the other companies like Nickelodeon or Fox.

Seriously, what ever happened to a kids block on fox? I grew up with Fox kids which introduced me to Tiny Toons, Batman, Animaniacs, Spiderman, Bobby's World, Tick, etc. Now the only thing they show is Family Guy and American Dad.
Why don't they get a kids block and show great shows on that? :/

Yeah, my Dad, hates the shows on Disney so much, he gets mad when the channel, is left on there.

Yeah I heard of this show before they brought it out and all I have to say is "Woooooooowwww..." Disney sure has low expectations nowadays. Either that or they have forgotten that they don't just appeal to little kids. And with the rumors that Wizards of Waverly Place and other reality shows that are popular to the teen age group are going to be ending soon, if those are true, I'm afraid Disney is going to turn into nothing but a company only little kids watch shows from.
