Not just for appearance's sake - it's mostly a change for functionality.

"Functionality", hm? Yeah, it's sure a lot more functional now than when these latest changes began. Here's what happened when I tried to respond to a topic on the forum. And when I tried to return to the main forum page, or even log out, the same result happened...

"Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at http://www.animationsource.org.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or *******, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
"

No offense, but I'd better not hear from anyone about how this is a Firefox problem. Because I DON'T have this problem with any other website or even general searches on the net. I am just having these problems, lately, with Balto Source/Animation Source. And they only started after the "functionality" changes...

...it's only by random chance that I managed to get through to post this. And who knows how long until the next blocked attempt?

I get that too. Its annoying. I thought it was my computer. :?

Yeah...I know. I just meant that was the original purpose. Admittedly though, it's been a pain, especially when half the time I go to submit messages, it lags and dies T.T

Just noting, that's a problem with FCK editor I think - it's always done that for me ever since it was introduced.

The "search on the site" box doesn't work, it gives a long list of errors like this one:

Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /home/steetboris/animsource/inc/ft/search_functions.php on line 183

This is only recently broken, before some other bugs were killed it worked on mine o.O

I'm not too sure if this has already been posted, but here goes!

I was editing my profile and saw there was a button -- or link really -- that you could press to use a different writing box to edit your presentation. It was called SPAW. Well I clicked it, and it said this: Fatal error: Class 'SpawConfig' not found in /home/steetboris/animsource/inc/spaw2/spaw.inc.php on line 21.

And now I can't edit my profile at all, because I can't get back to the original 'setting' I had for the writing box..

So, that's my problem. I don't really care when it gets fixed, I just hope this doesn't happen to someone else. :l

=> I have deactivated Spaw, FCK is better for almost everything.

Click the link above the text editor to switch to FCK editor - Normally everyone should have it by default, not Spaw. (though it should work too...but I'll correct it later)

In the last few days there have been more difficulties with signing into the forum or main sites, and STAYING there, than as long as I can remember since I've joined this site, and it's REALLY getting frustrating. All for a little tweak of appearance? :x

Because this update was not for appearance. Although it WAS necessary, or the new possibilities / sites that I will bring LATER would not be possible or a nightmare to maintain.
You may not see it, but I almost reconstructed EVERYTHING. That explains why some things are missing and there are bugs everywhere - if you were a programmer, you would understand. When something becomes too hard to maintain, it's better to trash it and rebuild it. Besides, that's the first major I have made in 5 YEARS - you won't encounter any ACTIVE professional website where something like this hasn't occured. (even if professional workers can make the transitions smooth enough so as the visitors do not notice them - remember that I'm alone for doing all this, and on my free time!)

I already spent 3 months of free time working on that update, and I have almost dedicated half of my vacation time to correcting the problems around it...But in the long term, this will be worth it. You'll see.

It already is, in fact, because otherwise Talespin Source and the Animation Source wouldn't even exist. And more will come...(and not only new sites, but functionalities)

No link either? (before or after the error message?)

Err, I was just explaining the reasons behind that. That's all.

Just a heads up its not really an issues but my Lion king fanarts are all gone. Oh and another wierd thing I noticed when I logged on today was on balto source fan arts, random galleries that I did not fav were in my favourite galleries. Did this happen to anyone else? Oh well I guess it will be fixed when the bugs are fixed.

=> I haven't checked but I restored a lot of TLKS fanarts, so maybe yours is back too.
As for the favorites, that's strange and I can't really see what's wrong, but tell me if it happens again.
