'Well, you may be in luck, you may be out of luck, it really all depends on whether you stop growling at me or not' Reckna said, glaring at Jullian. 'If you stop, I may be able to show you where there is shelter, if you don't...well you will make a very nice supper.' He turned his attention to the two females behind Jullian, 'or maybe it will just be you, young male, that is my snack, the two ladies are not growling so they can come to the shelter.'

'That's better, now I can hear myself think' Reckna said, lowering his head slightly so he could stare Jullian in the eye. 'Well now that we are all a little bit more civilized, would you all care to follow me, and quickly please night is approaching' he said, and turned to start walking into the forest, he had to get them out from the open and away from the pack's eyes.
Sylis nuzzled her sister. 'Do you think we should go with him, he did talk about eating us' she asked her, shivering from cold and fright.

Sylis nodded, and followed her sister, Jullian, and this strange wolf. He hadn't even told them his name, and he could kill them in their sleep or something, but yet they still trusted him. 'It could be a trap you know, he could have friends in the forest' she whispered to Larka.
Reckna stopped on the very edge of the forest, remembering what happened once his kind stepped into shadows. We change back to our true forms, and then they might not trust me, they will be scared to say the least he thought. He turned around to face the dogs. 'If you go through the forest until you reach an open field, go left until you get to a spring, there is a cave around there, I am afraid this is as far as I can take you' he said slowly, keeping his eyes focussed on all three dogs.

Sylis nodded, they had to take the risk. She hurried after Jullian, keeping her head down so that the wind didn't make her too cold, and then stepped into the forest. No one attacked, and she let out the breath she didn't realise she had been holding in a loud whoosh. 'Well let's go find this cave' she said, but before she ran off she whispered to Larka 'I wonder why he couldn't come in the forest?'
Reckna sighed, he had managed to get them in the forest without being noticed, but now they were in an even greater danger. He heard a long solemn howl in the distance, the alpha was calling him. He turned his head to where the howl had come from, checked that none of the dogs were watching, and then stepped into the shade of the trees. Instantly his fur seemed to melt away, leaving a translucent black wolf shape, with the outlines of his body glowing red. He howled in return, and then started to run towards the den.

Sylis frowned, but bounded after Jullian, all the time keeping here eyes open for anything that moved. She was looking out for either danger, or food.
Reckna walked into the den site, a large group of pulsing and shimmering black shapes sat in a half-circle, surrounding him. The alpha sat at the head, he was not sitting like the other wolves though. Out of the corner of his sight, Reckna spotted the deep green female, Yuni, who was the alpha's daughter. 'Reckna, you are here, that's good, now we can go and arrange search parties for those dogs, they must be killed swiftly, before they can taint our land' the alpha said, there was absolute silence as the pack waited for Reckna to speak. 'Of course alpha, but it is late and I wish to rest before a hunt' Reckna replied, staring at his alpha straight in his black eyes.

Reckna shot Jamie a killer stare. 'All I am asking is a few hours of rest, nothing more, is that such a difficult thing to let me have?' ha snapped at Jamie, his ears held forwards in a dominant way. He would fight Jamie, but he needed time to think of a way to hold off his pack finding the dogs.
Sylis crept into the cave, and lay down in the furthest corner. She yawned loudly, and then exhaustion swept over her. 'I'm really tired guys, I'm sorry but I have to sleep' she said, and then lay down her head. Within seconds, she was fast asleep.

Reckna snarled at Jamie, his hackles rising. 'What are you saying, that I would be stupid enough to make friends with' he paused to spit on the ground in mock disgust, 'house pets!' He took a few threatening steps towards Jamie, revealing just how big his teeth really were to him. 'Now, Jamie, Reckna, I want you both to stop this at once, Reckna you are permitted to have a short rest, but then we must work out how to deal with these intruders' the alpha snapped. Reckna glared at Jamie, before turning away to go to his den.
