"I'm here." The fox's voice was quiet in Steele's head. "I never left you. I know all about you. Past, present, and future. You're on the right path, Steele. Be careful not to stray from it."

"Yeah," Jenna replied "I wonder what happened. Though granted I'm not complaining." Her pace was rather hurried for she wanted to waste no time in finding Balto and the team, but she couldn't go faster than Steele. And besides, she thought to herself, I don't want to use up my energy now. I might need it later.

OOC: I hope your computer works ok. And I appreciate it, thanks ^^

Steele nodded in his mind. I won't, this is a chance I've wanted all my life since I left Nome. he said to the fox in his mind. I don't want to relive what happened to me. I won't betray my team this time.... "Jenna...do you think Balto will forgive me?"

"Muk, Luk." said Boris, motioning for the bears. He got on Luk's back, knowing he couldn't keep up with the dogs and too scared to fly, though there was no way to fly in this weather anyway. "Let us be following them."

OOC: After they meet up with Balto and the sled team, Kira will begin appearing. Then about around the time they'd enter the ice cave she effects things that get them into her turf. Steele's time spent apologizing allows Kira to discover them, otherwise they wouldn't of crossed pathes with her, the good character is in her turf.

Jenna was taken off gaurd by the question. She hadn't thought much of it. Balto had a forgiving air, but would he? Steele nearly killed him, along with his team and the sick of Nome. When she thought of it that way, she started to wonder why she was trusting him...
I'll have to risk it. If he is telling the truth, Balto may need us... she thought to assure herself, and with that in mind she felt she could answer his question, "I feel he will. If all goes right." And if you're telling the truth, she added the last bit in thought.

The polar bears followed along, and Muk spoke up to the goose, "Do you think Balto's all right Uncle Boris?"

OOC: ...you'll never believe me...but the virises have returned >.<
Trogen or something like that...highly annoying. I'm worried the computer might be gutted.
at least it worked for a bit. I'm catching up on work at school now, but i'll post when i can.

I like that name. sounds like she could be a light color of red wolf/siberian husky mix. :3

Steele nodded. "I didn't want to physically hurt him...I just got so mad I attacked him...thank goodness I lost." he said. "Who knows what I would've done if I hadn't backed off that ledge." he said, voice full of true sorrow. "If I hadn't lost...I don't want to think what would've happened to all those children...I was a fool." he said. "A jealious brute...I guess I was jealious that you loved him and not me...but now that I look back, I see you and him are made for each other...your pups ar-" he stopped himself, realizing what he was about to say. "I mean will be cute..." he said. "And if they take after Balto, Nome will be in good paws...better than mine."

Boris rubbed the back of his head. "Well giving his luck, he is being in trouble but his luck is also saying he is doing best in trouble." he said. "So he will be fine."

OOC: Yeah...I have an idea, what if they did meet in the real timeline but Steele's hatred of wolfdogs caused him to reject her and not see how perfect mates they could be?

Sorry about your computer. Look up AVG Antivirus, its got a free verson that's supposed to be great.

Jenna blinked with surprise. He's all about the surprises today... she thought following ..."'our pups...'" she mumbled out of ear-shot. "I haven't really thought much on a future that far..." She started to imagine what their pups could look like...'could'...did she think they weren't going to make it?
We will. she tried to tell herself. The snow continued to come down hard. Showering bolts of ice and cold that stung her nose. The blizzard was making her doubt. She suddenly took a stronger pace, so she was almost beside Steele instead of behind him. With new determination, she faced the storm with hope.

Luk cooed in response with an innocent smile. "You're right. Balto always comes through. He'll save them." Muk agreed. "But where could he be in all of this?"

are we going to bring her in soon, and who is going to be her, i don't know if we had decided yet.

YAY! i've got internet at home again (didn't need to be gutted, but just took a while to get it to a guy to be fixed), but because of the lack of for a while, i have homework to catch up on. shouldn't take more than another week or so (i hope O.o).

"Don't worry, we'll make it." said Steele. "I know for sure we will...Balto could do this without our help but we're giving it anyway." he said. "You and I both know what he's capable of."

"Since Steele got him lost, Steele will be being able to help us find him." said Boris.

The cheers ringing through Balto's ears gave him the strength as he pulled the box on top the cliff. Some of the team came and collected the box and before even heaving himself onto the top as well, he stopped for a moment and took a breath. The excited chatter of compliments and amazement made him warm inside.
Then suddenly out of the corner of his eye, he saw a flash of red in the trees ahead. 'It couldn't be...' he thought '...Jenna...?'

Kaltag grabbed one of the ropes tied to the box in his teeth as well as another dog or two and helped to drag it to safety. Then he gleefully turned back to the tired hero stuttering, "That-that was the most incredible-stupendous-amasing-unbelievable..." The hope that the wolfdog gave him by braving that cliff by himself was enough to set the dog's heart light with a courage of his own. He felt could make it now. No matter what else could lie ahead.

"Balto!" Jenna gasped in excitement. She heard the Sled dogs and their excitement. "He must be okay!" she said rushing towards the sound.

The bears said not a word, but ran behind with much exhilaration.

OOC: I know I don't get on for a week or so at a time (which really sucks cause when i started this with ya' i had more time on my hands ), but it might be a tad longer with finals this week...then graduation 15 days away. Just so you know.

"That was good!" yelled Star, happily, not realizing he cut Kaltag off.

"Balto..." said Steele. He walked behind the others, wanting himself to be the last thing Balto would see, knowing that he'd probably be the LAST thing Balto would want to see. He thought over what he wanted to say.

Boris hung on tight to Luk's fur, trying not to fall off. He was excited but couldn't talk due to the bucking polar bear.

Kaltag turned to Star with an angry expression and a small growl escaped his throat as he smacked the dog on the head.

Balto smiled and started to walk through the small crowd towards the sled. They had no time to waste. And then the red blur he brushed from his mind a moment ago got closer and clearer. "Jenna!" He picked up his pace and ran to meet her.

"Balto!" Jenna slowed her pace as she neared the team. The dogs parted and the wolfdog was rushing to great her. "Jenna! You're here! B-Why..."

"You won't believe me when I tell you..."

Muk and Luk stopped (so sharply that Boris nearly flew off Luk's back and they both slid a few feet on the slippery snow), wanting to glomp Balto in a big bear hug, but wanting to give Jenna a moment as well. They chattered amoung themselves as Jenna was telling Balto about Steele's epiphany.

Balto's jaw was agape after Jenna had finished. 'What would posses him to do such things...it's not like Steele...' he thought to himself, 'After all he's done...I never wanted to fight...' He looked inside himself and found he would've even been Steele's friend had he not always been on his case. Could it still be a trick though? He kept asking himself... well, he knew two things of Steele. Yes, he could, but it would hurt his pride too much, and that he was sure he would stoop to nothing to win Jenna over. I'll just let this play out so I can decide for myself... He concluded. Jenna seemed unsure herself. After discussing this with her a bit further, they turned to Steele himself.

i was going to watch the movie, but i don't have time, so this will be VERY helpful

Star fell in the snow with a thud. "Ow..." he muttered to himself. He got up and saw Steele.

Steele looked at his feet, the look of depression still on his face. "Balto...I'm sorry." he said. "I shouldn't of done what I did...I shouldn't of." he said. "You never deserved any of what I did..." he said. "I...I was jealious because Jenna liked you more..." he said. "Because...she loved you and not me." he said. "But...then on the way back to Nome...I realized...I realized that if you didn't make it back, all those kids...the ones that used to cheer me on ever race...they'd...die." he said. "And it'd of been my fault...all my fault." he said. "I may of done a lot of bad things...things I won't be mad if you don't forgive me for...but...but I couldn't live with something like that on my consious." he said. "Can you imagine having all that blood on your paws? I...I didn't want that...and I knew Jenna would never love me if that happened...she still won't...she's your mate and I accept that now." he said. He got the lead dog's harness and put it on Balto. He went to the bck and got a spare harness out. He put himself clear in the back. "I'm willing to do this...if you don't trust me...I'll stay as far away as possible...that way I can't be a threat to you." he said. "But I don't want to hurt you, I just want to make up for what I've done...if staying back here is what it'll take to prove that, I'll do that."

OOC: You're welcome!

Balto didn't know what to say. He looked at the harness drapped around his body, then at Steele with his head up in determination, and his tail down. He wasn't challenging Balto, but instead giving him the free rein...to trust him. Completely.
He mulled his choices over in his head. What do I have to loose? ...nothing. But they did. The large number of people back home dying... parents, children...Rosie. They had lives to live. They had everything to loose. I have a choice. I can leave him here...but...I feel it's right, to trust him. He stood beamed "Thank you, Steele..."

Jenna pulled on a harness herself "We're all here for you Balto. Where do you want me?" She smiled through the attach rope in her teeth.

OOC: Excellent post, Godzillawolf

Star looked on, shocked beyond belief. He waundered if Nikki or Kaltag would say anything.

OOC: Might be a good time for a Kaltag and Star gag.

Steele looked down. He felt so ashamed of himself. How was I so foolish? I could've killed everyone...I'm such an idoit...or was, I've changed...Spirit guide, are you out there somewhere? can you here me?

"Just be telling us what to do Balto." said Boris, still on Luk's back.

OOC: sorry for a shorter post this time, the new lay out of the site screwed me up and I didn't notice until later so I'm very sleepy at the moment. Thanks for the kind words!

Kaltag watched in awe as Steele pleaded his case, and could only stutter; "That-that's the most noble, honest, c-caring, kind-"

"I'm here." the soft voice echoed. "Do not hold onto the past, Steele. If so, you'll only make more mistakes by not looking that you're given a second chance. Hold on to the faith in yourself."

Balto looked back at Steele. Some of the other dogs where getting back to their places in the ranks, and their was one spot open he would like to have Jenna... "By me." he replied to Jenna while moving over a bit. "If you'll be by my side..."

OOC: I have no idea what Balto may think how Steele feels about this...
or what to do with the bears and Boris O.o

would they be able to keep up with the team you think?

it was an insperational post that gave me a good post idea
but then i forgot it and had to get off.
The new layout confused me. but i think the site was just freaking out or smthg.
it seems to be itself again. I'm very weak on ideas today.

Sorry for the long waited post btw. I had a long week then a case of writters block... 8P
