I do so I'm the one who sees the franchise going two different paths which can be connected in fanfiction but don't officially, whereas you see them going only one path forcing everything together and limiting fan creativity, hence you're the narrow viewed.

The point of the books is to bring more money to The Walt Disney Company which usually is any company's main interest with spinn-off stuff. But another point is to entertain little kids.

1.) They paid for a completely unrelated outsider to write the story. And this authors' web site says it's his original story.
---> As in instead of doing it themselves for relatively free, they let a complete outsider to write an original story and paid money for it - because it was not meant to be official to the movie but just to entertain children and make profit for the Company.

2.) They never released the books outside USA though the film was released worldwide.
---> Anything supposed to be official to the movie's story WOULD be let known to the same amount of people as the movie itself is, and not just to 1% of them.

3.) They never reprinted the books.
---> As in they tested if they'd be popular enough among kids by releasing them only in USA, but it turned out they didn't sell as they'd hoped so they didn't spread them wider and never reprinted them. That was likely all about money. You know publishing books is ridiculously expensive.

So people call Scar 'Taka'. Big deal. Don't like it, don't pay attention to it, but give others the right to call Scar such a name. In a way, it is official.

It doesn't bother me to much when people refer to Scar as Taka. In fact, I think the name is rather cute. But I don't in any way see it as his 'official' name. Not unless the actual people who made Scar say it, it's really not. People can use that as his 'official' name, but it doesn't mean it really is.

Just my opinion on the matter.

I DO give them the right to call Scar Taka whatever the heck they want. As in, for the tenth time; I find people calling Scar Taka, annoying ONLY when they claim that it's really Scar's real name in the movie too. I wouldn't give a *beep* if the whole world called him Taka as long as it's honestly stated to be his name only in the books. While they have the right to claim it official canon (as this is a free world), I have the right to express my annoyed feelings about such a lie.

The name Taka, for Scar, is probably the most widely accepted name for him BEFORE he got his scar. When people talk about Scar, they don't just stick to what the movies deliver. They wanna dig deeper, into his past, and when they do, they use Taka, the name given to him in The Tale of Two Brothers. No harm in that, none whatsoever. Those of you who don't like it: simply do not pay attention.

Taka means Scar in Swahali.

So can it be annoying when it's the same thing.

Actually, Taka means "dirt" or "want". Kovu is the one that means "scar".
