There's good surf too Sounds like sweden but here its not kangaroos here its Polarbears xD Yeah, but on some of our highways there ARE kangaroos hopping around... sadly a lot of them get hit... Yeah, Aussie's aren't all explorer hat, khaki wearing farmers that live kilometres (yes, the metric system) away from civilisation... though some of us are. Though there are or were some rad Aussie's like that, namely Steve Irwin. Though, I'm sort of a typical Aussie, cause I live in a little city/big town and I haven't ever lived anywhere else, and of my whole life percentage I would've spent like 97% of my life at that one place, and I've never left the state of QLD 'cause it's rad. Some supermarkets sell kangaroo meat, which I don't mind, as long as kangaroo numbers don't start going down... some people I know eat echidna...

It's sad all this dead stuff at the side of roads. When we were going on a road from Canberra to Goulburn (is that how you spell it?) i counted like 25 odd bits of roaddkill VividLegacy wrote: Though, I'm sort of a typical Aussie, cause I live in a little city/big town and I haven't ever lived anywhere else, and of my whole life percentage I would've spent like 97% of my life at that one place, and I've never left the state of QLD 'cause it's rad Ya i wish i lived in queensland.

Scotland. And let me tell you all who listen to the typical stereotypes ... the men do not run around in kilts all day. <.< They wear trousers/'pants' just like you. Kilts are for special occasions and stuff, since they're always tartan. and each clan has a tartan. I'm from the Hamilton clan, so my family has its own tartan. And haggis isn't all we eat. -_- We have a wide variety of food, just like Americans. Even though our portions are alot smaller though. haggis is disgusting, imho. xD In fact, very few of the Scottish stereotypes are entirely true. And we are pretty heavily stereotyped. Scotland's an awesome country. When you've lived here almost all your life, you accept the flaws and love it just the way it is. ^_^ But despite that . . . I'd give anything to be in New York. With an extremely close, but extremely far away friend of mine.. D: *sigh* cheers, Rebel™

I think most people take stereotypes too seriously as far as I know, no-one thinks that all Texans are hicks, that all Scottish men wear kilts and hopefully not that all Aussie's are like they are on movies such as Crocodile Dundee. Although, it is the immediate subconscious thought. I think I have seen too many episodes of The Simpsons.

Was that a subtle dig? Actually, another stereotype, this of Americans in general, is that they routinely eat big, slathering portions of food, scarfing them down as though there's no tomorrow. A very uncomplimentary stereotype. Hey, I never said I thought that. I just said we have much smaller portions, which is true. Apparently, Americans have much larger portions at restaurants and stuff. Like VividLegacy, I have also seen too many episodes of the Simpsons, still being a hardcore fan and all.

The Jersey Devil scares me. XD Well, at least the pictures of what its supposed to look like if it is real. Have you ever seen The Last Broadcast? Its kinda filmed like The Blair Witch Project and like a group of people go searching for the Jersey Devil. Anyways! Back into the point of the topic. I live in Colorado. My favorite town is Aspen just because of how snuggled it is next to the mountains. I don't live very close to it though. I live in Colorado Springs. We have a pretty mountain called Pikes Peak. Its also famous to. You know the "Oh beautiful, for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain. For purple mountain majesties, above the fruited plains. America,America." song? Well,it was written up there. SO yah thats pretty cool about my area. Also,a block down the street from my Grammy's house is Lon Chaney's house where he grew up and stuff. Hes the original Phantom of The Opera dude and also the original hunchback from the hunchback of notre dame. (theyre was a original play of it. not the cartoon movie) Theres probably more famous things here but,eh I'm a bit braindead today.

I am from the Northwest of Mexico. Mexicali, Baja California to be exact. I think if I wanted to live in a different country I would choose to live in France or Denmark, but I much like it here where I live. Rebel™ wrote: Scotland. I have had my share of stereotypical questions asked to me, because I am Indian (Native American-disambiguation), and people ask me silly things like do I dance around a fire every night (which I don't ever do) or if I worship animals and nature (love them but they are not the center of my religion), if I wear a loincloth all day (this one is sort of true for me though, I wear one sometimes). Its endless so I know your frustrations Rebel. X3 I would love to see Scotland one day!
